Joe Flacco did not practice 10/19-20/16 but did 10/21/16

Jets defense knows he has a bum shoulder, let's hope O line protects Joe. He has taken a beating in almost every game so far.

Looks like Wagner and Stanley are good to go so That already is a massive improvement.

Unfortunately we don't have the cushion to play it cautious and sit our starting QB for a game. Even if the Jets happen to be one of the worst teams in the league, we can't leave anything to chance and sit Flacco, opting instead to take a gamble that Mallett might win.

Ryan Mallet has a very strong arm and accurate. When he is tuned in he can be a very effective QB. Stanley and Wagner are playing this game. If he has to play the ravens win big anyways. Ravens27 jets10.

Stanley matching up with Williams is going to be a game in itself. A big strong yet explosive Defensive lineman. If Stanley handles him then all the critics will have to say Stanley is a rookie and Stanley is one of the best in the game already.

So this preseason thread was dug up, for someone to say let's rest Joe and let mallet play lol.

If Flacco is too injured to play, then he won't play, there is no hey let's rest him for later, the entire team can rest next week during the Bye Week.   The Ravens are currently 3-3 and still have a shot at the division, any able body that gives the team the best chance to win will suit up and play.

Flacco isn't some fragile QB, sure he suffered the knee last year ( can't recall if it was ACL, MCL or both ) but before that he was essentially an iron man that played through everything.

I really don't see why people think Josh Johnson is head above heels destroying Mallett... Mallett has not made really any mistakes. There was the one interception that bounced off of Waller that was not on him. Other than that he has been throwing well and he is a Flacco clone. I really don't see the big difference between the two and I really do think Johnson is being overrated at this point. Reminds me of when people were calling for Flacco's head and for Tyrod to start a few years back.. Hurts my head.

 AND NOW????????

How many people are saying Flacco is better than Matt Ryan now?  We are screwed with his contract for many years to come.

I don't know if he's locked down for a certain amount of time, but if he is, he should "spread the wealth" like they say in Obama land. We could acquire and pay some legitimate proven players from around the league, rather than having to rely on the talents of our draft to play this game for us. This way just ain't working. For the good of your team, Joe, take that pay cut. You certainly aren't earning what you're being paid now.

The only way it would make sense for a player to take a pay cut would be if they are in danger of getting cut. As it stands now, Joe has all of the leverage, and the FO has no reason to cut him right now.

A more likely source for a pay cut would be Dumervil or Webb, who are each due a hefty base salary for 2017. This salary could be cut and then potentially earned back through incentives.

His contract was always meant for an extension, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

He is locked down for a pretty significant amount.

he will be here till at least the 2019 season , however the 2020 seems seems to be the most realistic option if things where to be considered.

Man I missed that, I was out of the loop for a while. He'll be here until he's 36 at roughly 22 million a year.

As mentioned earlier if he really is gunshy/damaged goods now how would we get him out?

the only possible option would be for him to land on any of the NFL exempt list till the 2020 season lol

Thats what i said!!! Give Joe two choices. Take a pay cut or go on the trading block.

the ravens have no leverage dealing with either flacco or another team.

Well this is dandy.  We finally have a elite defense, only to drag them in the mud, deplete them, create unnecessary injuries and waste 4great years with the great 120m Joe.

Worth the pretty penny for flacco worshippers im sure.

This is stupid.

Who here would willing take a significant  pay cut at their job raise your hand.....

No one?

I thought so.

The offensive system is clearly broken, we will probably look to a new OC next season.

Another Scapegoat to fire when Flacco is doing a poor job.

I don't think it's the system, I think the bulk of the issues fall squarely on the O line. It's not a myth or just an old saying that the game is won or lost in the trenches. The OL was so bad yesterday seems MM was forced to stay with the pass just to try to get something going.

The Ravens had a net 6 yards rushing.  No team has ever won a game with 6 yards rushing.

So when flacco is underthrowing to Mike Wallace yesterday and did the same exact thing week before vs. giants at endzone.   it was the oline fault.

No, flacco's mechanic is complete garbage.   His oline was bad, but you don't go 42 yards @ 2nd half b/c you 'have a bad oline'  Plenty of QBs out there in the league far worse than ours and they make it work.   Flacco is one of the QBs that needs everything around him (the system, the OC, QB coach, WRs, oline) basically pamper him to put up mediocre stats.

Flacco got paid, and he needs to do his part of the bargain.  So far, he is trent edwards times two.   Faster we draft a new QB and groom him, the faster we get rid of Flacco and his apologist out of this organization.

Both Flacco and his worshippers can enjoy blaming everything but him  anywhere else is fine by me!

Watch the Bengals play or another team and count how many times a WR gets open, and I mean open, like 3-5 steps open, than watch ours and count and then get back to me.

Right now only Russel Wilson, Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck would be doing better behind this line with WRs that never get open. Even on the Wallace deep ball he didn't even have a step, throw and catch had to be perfect, absolutely nothing comes easy with this offense, but blame the QB.

He played bad yesterday no doubt, only a matter of time before he started forcing a few throws, but the entire system is broken right now, 6 rushing yards.

And as for coaches getting fired, what about coaches being promoted and wining a Super Bowl with a different team?
