Lost In Translations "Holy Crap I'm really sick and have nothing better to do" Mock Draft

7 posts in this topic

Hello everyone. Title explained. I'm stuck in bed with mad hippie disease, thanks Boulder. So I'll be doing this mock draft because I have nothing better to do.

Since it's early I don't care if it's 100% wrong.

Round One: We trade our entire draft for Myles Garret..

Ha, I wish. Onto something serious.

Round One: Tim Williams OLB Alabama

Tim Williams is a very good pass rusher with freakish athleticism and some pass rushing moves. However, he's a crappy run defender, and can get stonewalled there. Good news is, Smith is the opposite. He could be a sparkplug and become a legit difference maker for us as a pass rusher, and hopefully develop into a good run defender. I like him, although he's not my favorite.

Round Two: Chidobe Awuzie, CB Colorado

Surprisingly, this isn't a homer pick. I actually think this is where he goes. He's got talent and appears to be a high football IQ player on the field. He's very good in zone coverage which we run a lot, he's got good instincts, good ball skills, he's a good tackler, and he can sniff out screens. He probably won't be #1 corner, but he could be a guy who very well holds his own on the outside. I've seen him play a lot and a few have him going in the second round.

Round 3, Connor Kupp WR

Hey announcers in the tape I'm watching.. His name is Cooper. Stop calling him Connor. I'm making fun of you by doing the same.

I don't know why he goes so under the radar. He's a very good route runner with good soft hands, and has deceptive run after the catch ability. He also is deceptively fast, but is not a burner. He could develop into a very good over the middle threat that we could be lacking next year with Steve gone. I don't think he's athletic enough to be an NFL #1, but he could make a very good #2 WR who's a threat to turn a 5 yard catch into a 15 yard gain. Also bodes well for our WR corps going on in the future as Perriman is a potential #1 and I could see Chris Moore is an big play #3 WR. I highly encourage all of you to watch tape on him.

Mock drafts are back!!! Yay!

Okay for Williams and Kupp, love both. But not sure about Awuzie, seems too high for him although I like him. Would have prefered Jourdan Lewis.

Biggest problem is the absence of interior OL.

Haven't watched Kupp yet (or any WRs for that matter), but I'd love this draft. Awuzie is one of my favorites- just love watching him on the field. I like Williams on the field too- love his explosion, his off-field stuff might raise concerns though.

Seeing how the Browns seem to be the front runner for #1 pick I don't see us trading our whole draft to them, lol. Garrett's cool but he's definitely not worth giving away our draft.

Love Awuzie just not in the second round. I see him having a Josh Norman type of start, not really known for a year or two and just explodes onto the scene.
