Wow what a great game going on right now for Pens/Flyers. 3-3 going into the third period. Looks like this one is gonna be a nailbiter. I keep having to switch from the game to the draft. Lets go Pens! :D
That was a good game. No more games for Scott Hartnell this year. Too bad. Players with permed, jheri curled mullets are few and far between.

Ovechkin/Semin vs Malkin/Crosby. Gary Bettman's dream match up. I hope it's a good series.

I wonder if Pierre Maguire will keep droning on about Mike Richards leadership abilities. He did lead the Flyers into the showers. I'm sure he will be leading them onto the golf course too as soon as his shoulder surgery is healed.

The Caps will need to play solid defense in this series and hope that Fleury isn't lights out like he was for most of the first round.

You can't deny he is one of the best leaders in the NHL. Much better than Crosby or Ovie imo.

Ovie makes goals and plays, but hes not a natural leader of his guys, part of this is the language barrier obviously, but he isn't as much of a rah rah get em ready to go Ray Lewis type guy. Crosby is wimpy and is even worse. He cries about every non call against him, and every call on him. He needs to learn to shut up and play a little bit more. Richards gets after it on all ends of the floor, he had 30 something goals, 40 something assists and is one of the best defensive forwards in the game. Richards gets the troops ready night in and night out, he knows how to lead and does it well. Just because the team is out of the playoffs, you can't blame that on one guy.

If we ever get solid Goaltending.... we will be dominant, too bad we won't have that for a while, if ever... <_<

btw, just in case you were wondering .... Richards shot percentage was 12.6% this season, Ovies.... 10.6%
he also had 7 shorties to Ovies 2 and was only 3 behind him in PP goals.

Just because someone scores 56 times on 528 shots doesn't make him that special. I like Ovie a lot but, he is a tad bit overhyped.

Saying a guy who scored 56 on 528 is better than a guy who scored 30 on 238 is frustrating to say the least.... /end rant

Richards is a decent captain and a solid player in all facets of the game. I was more poking fun at Pierre Maguire's love affair with Richards. I think if Richards was an amazing captain he would have been able to settle things down before the Penguins scored 4 unanswered goals to send the Flyers home for the year.

You will get no argument from me that Ovechkin isn't overhyped. He shoots WAY too much and doesn't make the players around him better. I can do without the childish goal scoring celebrations. He will get a real test in this next round. He will have to perform much better than he did against he Rangers if they hope to do well against the Penguins.

If I have a problem with Crosby, it would be that his "leadership" is pretty L.L. Bean and he always sounds very rehearsed in interviews. There are some that call that maturity beyond his years, but maturity is not very inspiring when someone takes a run at your head. A captain has to play with emotion, and Crosby does not show emotion very often at all. If he would finish a check or two a game with authority he would get much more respect.

Ovie will finish his checks, I'll give him that, he plays the game hard, but hes too much of a "Me" guy.

just so you know... I think the best player in the NHL is Malkin, by a lot....

I don't even want to talk about that series, so frustrating. One night on fire, the next night they were in slow motion.

Fluerry was on point in this past series, but he cam a little unraveled at the end, if you guys can jump on him big in the first game or two, you have a much better chance. Can't let him build his confidence too much too early on.

Finally someone else out there is noticing Malkin! I agree he is the best player, but not by alot. Ovecheckin is right behind him in talent and sometimes looks better. I always wonder how both would be if they switched teams. I just would like to see how many points Ovie could put up with Crosby as his teammate.

Also good series with your Flyers. I honestly think they would have advanced if they would of clinched home ice for the series. Cant wait to meet again next year (hopefully).

Just saw an E:60 on Ovie, gotta say, I'm a bigger fan of his now.

Dude has cars in Russia when he goes home he says he pushes em to 220-240MPH. That is my kinda guy. He has a new Mercedes that hes had up to 160 in the DC area. I know its reckless and whatever, but he likes to have fun, and thats cool with me.

He also doesn't mind feuding with Don Cherry and he has a ton of personality.

I really hope the caps can advance, but in 6 or 7 games that way the Bruins will have an easier time (I hope)

I'm really surprised about him loving motor sports that much considering that when he was 10 his older brother was killed in a car accident.

I can't wait for todays games. Round 2 is going to be awesome!

Varlamov is playing amazing this playoffs, if they had used him all year, they may have been a 1 seed.

Kid is playing amazing, great to see a guy with 5 or 6 starts in the regular season be able to step up and take the heat of a playoff run.

If you're looking for the best player in the game , you should go with the guy who scored 120 goals in the last 2 regular seasons.
But IMO , Lidstrom is the best player because he can provide a lot of offense from the back-end and he's still so effective at shutting down the best forwards night in and night out . If you're asking yourselves why the Red Wings are so damn good , well Lidstrom is probably the most important piece in their system . As I speak he has 8 points in 6 games and he still eats big minutes and can score clutch goals.

What an epic battle going on right now, amazing. 6 Periods right now, hiller has stopped 59 of 62 shots, he deserves to win. I hope the ducks can put one in here in the 3rd OT

Great job Osgood getting beat on the glove side . I don't think the Red Wings have any confidence in him at this point , he's simply useless .He has always been the product of the system but this is embarrassing..he can't make a decent glove side, rebounds , very shaky and slides away too much . Without a steady goalie you can't win more than one round in the playoffs regardless of how good your roster is. On the other side , Hiller has been awesome..29 saves in the OT and the guy stole it for the Ducks .

Crap, I cant believe I just missed that Wings/Ducks game. I know I shouldnt of went to my in-laws!! Triple overtime...are you kidding me! Just got done seeing the highlights, what a game!! Kind of looks like the overtime thriller last year in the Finals. I am extremely happy that the Ducks got the W though. They need to take the series, I do not want to have my Pens meet the stinkin red wings again!! :P

It was sickening how good the D for the Wings was compared to how crappy Osgood played. He faced about 5 difficult shots all game, where Hiller stopped like 60 shots, Osgood only stopped 38 or so, and half of those were weak shots.

The Red Wings should have won that game based on the opportunities they had, but Hiller played great and kept them alive. I think they have a serious shot at taking the series now. My Bruins lost game two, but I gotta say Go Caps! beat the Pens :P

Another great series between the Caps and Pens...with the exception of that egg the Caps just layed in game 7. That goalie for the Capitals kept them in the series. We are going to see plenty of him in the future...especially considering he is only 21 years old!! Lets hope the Conference Finals are as good as this series. Go Penguins!!!! :)

The best part of that game 7 was when Ovechkin was going to charge Malkin and ended up hitting Backstrom instead and elbowing him in the head. Soooo funny.

Me and all my buddies were howling after that hit. I would be so mad if I was Backstrom, not only for the impact of the hit itself, but did you see when he hit the ground, he faceplanted into the ice...lmao!

That was terrible for the caps. They hung strong for 6 games, then got destroyed in game 7. What's with pit beating every team from this area?

Didn't Ovechkin say that his team had the energy to win Game 7?They looked dead out there and Ovechkin propbably didn't care when he scored that goal.
