[News] Ravens Bring Back CB Asa Jackson To The Practice Squad

34 posts in this topic

Why bring a guy in that can't make the cut after 4 years??? There has to be a load of untapped talent out there somewhere. We'd be better off tapping into that then wasting our time on something we already know the outcome of. It's like we're the Bad News Bears or something. SMH

I guess the front office has found the secret of life that Dr. Frankenstein discovered. Or they must have because instead of going out and finding good players to trade for, they keep resurrecting bodies from the Raven graveyard and I guess they think they can take the broken pieces and put together a football player out of them. Yep, as I see the Packers made a trade with the Chiefs to pick up a player they needed, the Ravens call out the grave diggers to drag up an old body they think will magically be something they weren't before.

...and the definition of insanity is...??? Why not bring back Brookes--he would have laid the wood to ODB instead of watching him run by!

Source SB nation: Most disappointing is the large role Webb has played in the majority of big plays allowed by the Ravens defense this season." IMO: The three losses have a core of bad work emanating from this 8th year veteran. The Prize>>> Webb looked awful against Beckham as he stood there in concrete feet watching Beckham pass by and joke on the Ravens. Here we are @ .500

Man this is beginning to feel a lot like 2015 all over again.

We can aim for .500 and that would be better than expected. Webb looked really bad as his work at safety against Beckham looked terrible

Who would you be interesting in trading for and what would you be willing to trade. I mean bringing in one good player isn't going to make this team that much more competitive at this point. And to get a really good player your talking top draft picks in rounds 1-3. I am not willing to give up those picks. Maybe, if I you thought we were one great player away from making a Super Bowl run, but I don't think anyone thinks thats the case. And Kniles Davis??? cmon man The packers could have waited another week and picked him up off waivers. He has a total of 1 carry this year for -2 yards. Its a ridiculous argument, which seem to be your calling card in this forum.

Good grief, more retreads. Asa Jackson......again. How many times do they bring this guy back before they finally admit yet another drafting mistake and let him go? He is just another in a long list of mediocre corner backs the Ravens have managed to collect. They kept lame Elam around long enough so that everyone stops questioning why they wasted a number one pick on him. Now he is "hurt". So what? They will do the same with average receiver Perriman. He makes a nice catch now and then, but his so called "speed" doesn't scare anyone and he drops as many as he catches. They will keep him around, making lame excuses, until they finally get rid of him. Just another in a long list of bad draft choices. That is why the Ravens are where they are.

Webb played all 87 defensive snaps and made 2 tackles, something is wrong but Harbaugh gives him a pass.

if we could trade for a cb or safety better than what we already have aside from jimmy and eric for a 2nd or 3rd i would do it in a heartbeat because the front office has blown those picks in recent years

Do we really need Jackson??

Maybe he's afraid of sticking his nose in a play after all of his injuries; he is undersized for a safety.

I wholeheartedly agree. I have the feeling that KC will turn out to be one of those blown picks smh. You simply don't draft a supposed pass rusher in the second round because he has a "good motor". You make that selection in the 4th or later. but releasing brooks is really haunting us right now. I have no doubt he would have made that play on OBJ. the way he played in the last preseason game should have been enough but no we go with sorry K. Lewis

if you know football....your safeties shouldn't be making a ton of tackles like that.....if the offense is continually getting to the 3 phase of the defense...something is wrong...this is maybe the only game we got blown up by big games...dont forget we were just the top ranked defense in the league.....them tackles belong to the LB's and DB's locking up their guy.....webb should not have 5+ tackles a game....that means players are getting free

Yea but do you think that is going to give us a shot at competing for a Super Bowl. Ā Most likely a trade of this kind (if you are spending a 2nd 0r 3rd) you are going to get the guy for two to three years tops and you are going to have to pay him a boat load. Ā You would takeĀ him instead ofĀ a Timmy Jernigan, or Brandon Williams for four years at a really cheap salary. Ā  I am also not ready to give up on Maxx Williams, Carl Davis, KC or Brendon Kafusi. Ā Although KC does get thrown around like a rag doll when he's out there.

Here we go again, signing Asa Jackson again. How many times has it happened. The Giants signed him then cut him 2 days later, does that tell you something? Come on Ravens you can do better. There was ample time sign a quality CB this off season. Oh yes, no cap space because of the big contract to a mediocre QB.

Wow! Tell us how you really feel but I do tend to agree.

I wonder where Danny Gorrer is these days. I thought he played better than Asa Jackson when we brought him back a second time. Maybe that knee injury ended his career.

Just think, there's 330 million Americans and this is the best they can do. I guess when you remove the alpha males that reduces your selection. Hell get Reed back too.d
