ISP addresses

4 posts in this topic

I have been on these boards for years now, and I have never seen an inundation of negativity like I have these past few weeks.  It is BY FAR the worst ever.  The thing is it seems they are all saying the same thing.  They are all high fiving each other.
Do these boards have a filter to block multiple accounts from the same ISP address ?  Or something to prevent one person to have multiple accounts ?
Just thinking out loud....

When we catch multiple accounts, they are removed.  We have a tool to assist with that, but ISPs are not in any way shape or form reliable to use for that purpose.  Think of a college dorm or an office or even Starbucks.

Our OLD software allowed us to run IPs and we had hundreds from one I checked once.  Turned out it was a local company with thousands of employees.  This version of the software is more respectful of individual member privacy so we can't do that any more.  Mods have less access to member data than we used to have.  We've been pretty good at catching the duplicates, though.  A tiger can't change his stripes. They usually give themselves away and, if necessary, we can refer the suspect to higher powers.

IP's change  and are more dynamic then they used to be BUT this software ratted my alter ego quickly lol and to put this out there my non mod sign on is used to see what y'all see vs what we see as mods and more, I don't post with it.  We do try, negativity breeds negativity and for some reason post more then the more positive poster. Hang in there @K-Dog  it's not even November yet, I believe in this team and MM called a pretty good game if you take away the penalties, and bonehead decisions.
