[News] The Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. New York Giants

No excuses in game Baltimore could have won. Ravens caught some breaks, but not enough to overcome self-inflicted mistakes. Ups and downs in Marty Mornhinweg's debut. Penalties could bring down season.

I've got a feeling that we're going to see more teams going uptempo against our defense. Once the Giants went uptempo our D-line got gassed and the pass rush was nonexistent. I think we're also going to see teams blitzing us more often, there were a lot of free rushers coming at Flacco on blitzes.

It's looking like the Cleveland game may be the only game the rest of the season where the Ravens are favored, and, even then, only because we would be the home team. The team has more than just 5 issues to rectify.

No, the O-line didn't give Flacco enough time to throw. Not that you can blame them, necessarily; everyone but Zutah was playing out of position. They did do a nice job on some of the running pays, but they can't get outside to block for a screen to save their lives.

Way too many dropped passes. Again. And Flacco having to throw from a three step drop and on his back foot play after play after play, is going to lead to poor timing on routes and some inaccuracies. But drops are a problem. Perriman and Wallace in particular.

Also on D. I guess there's a reason Webby isn't a receiver. Someone else dropped a sure INT as well; can't remember who.

But again, just like last year, no defensive pressure on the QB. Any quarterback in the NFL given 5 step drops and all day to go through his progressions is going to find someone open. The 3-4 has got to go. Dean can take it with him.

brady 29-35 360 yards 3 td's 37y.o. and missed 4 games. flacco had an amazing 4 game run in 2012 but that is it. he is below avg. prescott is better and he is a rookie. harbaugh is not an x's and o's guy and it shows. he lost the last 2 games by being greedy on 4th down.

Agree

I'm pretty sure even Eisenberg can identify more than 5 things wrong with the Ravens. But when you work for the Ravens, there's only so much criticism you can offer.

poor drafting and poor coaching has caught up to this organization. bisciotti must wake up and do what is necessary. time for decosta to get a shot, no game breakers on offense

Looking at our remaining schedule it seems that the Ravens are going to have another top 10 1st round draft pick.

4-12 here we come. Maybe a new coach & back to Raven football?

...yeah, the up-tempo was killing our D. Not to mention we had no pass-rush at all, except for the lone sack by Suggs. This may be his last year. He seems to have lost his edge. And again, just like a couple of years ago...with around 2min left we have the lead, then under 2 min they score a TD (always), then we score with a field goal. And then with under a minute with them deep in their own territory we let them get 1 or 2 first downs and then we give up the BIG splash play for long yardage that breaks our collective backs! It seems inevitable that all our last 3 games have gone this way.

This is a sinking ship......Harbaugh keeps shooting holes in it by gambling away precious points.
He needs a checkup from the neck up, no more taking stupid pills.

Anyone else saw Webb looking at the Beckham train passing by. Webb has become horrendous as deep safety. But then the other safety named Lewis is more horrible.

What precious points? Just because we went for it on 4th down does not mean jack! The secondary is HORRENDOUS! Plain and simple!

Im done with this Embarrassment of a Team.

5 Thoughts

1) Harbaughs Seat gets Hotter as his in game decisions become more&more questionable.- 3 Straight weeks chasing points, 3 straight weeks that could have ended in a win or tie going to OT.
Today-Passing on a fg to make it 17-16, eventually setting up GW FG by Tucker instead forcing a gw td drive.

2) Makeshift Oline, too many penalties. I cant watch it anymore. Killing the offense, couldve had atleast 2-3 more fgs without the penalties. I wont watch another game unless they get Stanley,Yanda back...cause I have seen enough proof Im going to check a loss for every game here out until they get back. So Note to Harbaugh. Let Stanley play.. throw caution to the wind. Unless you want to get fired by having another 5-11 season. Bet your backside you will.

3) Marty playcalling- A lot better game flow and more deep shots I liked, but still to many passes 48. For a game thst Ravens lead 10-0 mostly or tied 10-10...only 23 for 87 for West thats good but he should have had 30 for 120. Ravens dont win when Joe throws 40x

4) Pass Rush, pretty bad when mid 30s HOF type player coming off 2nd achilles is still your highest sack guy, Sizzle 5 sacks. Very little pressure does the front get without blitzing. This looks like its going to be an all year problem once again, and something they still need to address in the draft. Correa is not a Pass Rusher atleast not in the Sizzle/Von Miller mold. Judon looks like he can be a 10 sack a season guy but hes young. They gotta find another franchise Edge Rusher for when Sizzle hangs it up.

5) Im just Frustrated,Embarrassed to many things to describe with this team

stop defending flacco. he is below avg. and has no leadership skills

Even when we had Ed Reed and Sugar Ray, we have always struggled to stop teams when they go no-huddle. It's been an issue as long as I can remember.

6 - 10 season I'll give the Ravens 1 more game then last year. Penalties is a sign that these guys are way over their heads. That really falls on Ozzie.

Mistakes with the players and coaches not a formula to win games. IF they lose next week , Steve might just break out the TNT.

Really. Maybe he will come back at the end of the year and say it his last ride and give a an boost to a Super-Bowl LOL just kidding. The season is likely done with us. It's just not working again this year. Were just not good enough to compete.

Where is this speed everyone was talking about with Perriman? I haven't seen it. Same old secondary we've seen for the past 4 years. Killing themselves with penalties, leaving points off the board. Receivers are hardly ever open and Joe has to throw it with a chance of getting picked off (if he can get enough time to throw it) Injury prone guys who can barely make it through the game or half. Doesn't look good the rest of the year.

1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi, 4 Mississippi, 5 Mississippi, 6 Mississippi, 7 Mississippi, 8 Mississippi, Eli eating a sandwich, he looks, he takes a sip of Gatorade, he throws, pass complete. Only one thought needed. WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

So if the Ravens didn't get two turnovers and have two short drives what was really the difference between Tressman and Marty other than the fact we completely mismanaged the clock at the end of the game? WE ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Another road L very likely again against the Jets.

Trestman wasn't the problem? You mean the usual suspect commentators were wrong? I guess that means that Harbs is the next target on their list (with Ozzie on deck). I don't see how anyone can watch these games and blame the coaching staff. Dropped balls, penalties, missed tackles, bad angles are PLAYERS fault. Harbs going for it on 4th down (which would have worked if Juice made any type of block) is not the reason that Odell dropped 200+ yards on Davis, Wright & Webb.
