[News] Ravens Offense Shows Promise Under Marty Mornhinweg, But Doomed By Penalties

81 posts in this topic

Promise of what? More defeats? It was the same as the Redskins game, get an early lead, then to nothing. If this team gets more incompetent (assuming that is even possible), they will be a shoo in for a top 5 draft pick next year. Both the awful penalties called on the Giants, and the turnovers should have been enough to win the game, but, once again the abominable offense failed to produce. Just a terrible performance. Only Tucker, West, and Wallace did well The rest of them stunk to high heaven.

Ineptness comes to mind when talking about the Ravens Offense. So tired of the Offense going into a shell which has been the MO for years. Slow starts, 3 and outs, stupid penalties, over throws/under throws. When will it change?

how do you get a team to focus not making dumb mistakes when their rewarded by getting the day off after a loss???? make them come in the day after and watch their mistakes, maybe that will get their attention.

When they throw out everything they learned from Trestman

itll get better, I promise but we have to find a way to steal a few games here and there until it clicks.

wish someone would answer 1 question, how do teams like the VIKINGS and PATRIOTS win without their best players on the field,so does it make a difference to one team but not another?

promise? are you freaking kidding me? this is easily the worst offense in the league and has been for at least 2 years. harbaugh has absolutely no clue how to fix anything or simply be a competent game manager. flacco continues to regress and get worse. i think he was probably the most sound as a rookie and has looked like crap and been reliant on outstanding defense to gift him wins throughout his career. now that the D is average to mediocre, you see the results. trade flacco to the browns please so he can wallow in obscurity for a few years with hue jackson.

For three weeks now we've been hearing "the offense is coming around" and "we've got to stop committing so many penalties"......so when will it actually start happening?

Eventually we will have to take a hard look at Flacco. Are we better off with him or without him? We are definitely over paying for past performances which is something the Ravens say they never do? All you have to do is look at the Eugene Monroe contract.

how about this for a trade: joe thomas for flacco. trade him to the browns they are desperate with injuries, and hue jackson knows him. thomas could fill our left tackle void for a year or two. let staley get healthy, or play another spot as he gets stronger. our line is decimated. the cap hits are not all that different and cleveland certainly has money to pay flacco.

Vikings have a stellar defense and a gifted OC with a number 1 overall pick at QB. Patriots have a stable offensive system, and they cheat.

You could say that for Wallace too except they only called one penalty of the six or seven committed by the DBs guarding him.

let your best offensive lineman go over the last few years and you deserve what you get, smart teams, like the team i'm watching now get that you build a stone wall in front of your QB,yeah STANLEYS ok at coverage but kinda weak in the run game, not a complete player for a pick 6,wev'e run better without him the last few weeks, maybe rotate guys in on the line like every other position.some teams get it,some don't.we used to.

LOL that's funny. If we trade Joe for Thomas who is gonna be a QB Mallett. What about Stanley are you gonna benched him? If they do it would be a wasted first round pick. Also what if Joe is dominant with the Browns are you gonna regret trade him? Plus Thomas is getting up to age anyway. Horrible decision and pretty idiotic if you asked me.

Joe Flacco is our Tony Romo! It's time for a "CHANGE"! 100 yds in penalties will not overshadow a wide open WR at the ten yard line with the clock winding down!

not our year, the offense does look better, then the defense breaks down, never get an all round team effort.theres no consistancey anywhere on this team, you can't say to yourself, well atleast we know we'll score points or we'll atleast our defense will give us a chance.we are close on offense or atleast it looked better than it did.oh well atleast we got the draft,in a few years we'll have enough top 10 players to contend again.just seems since we kept getting rid of high spirited players like SCOTT,LEWIS and POLLARD and BOLDIN,we haven't been the same.

Promise for next year. Web, Hurst, and Elvis need to go. Ravens have no offensive line, secondary, and receivers.

They have better coaches.

We didn't win the first one after Cam was fired either.

Yeah but we sure as hell had a better O-line with Cam than what poor Marty has now. Again, Flacco is the Offensive Coordinator Killer! He gets a pass and they lose their jobs cause he sucks.

Nope. Try again.

Penalties are the sign of an undisciplined team. Discipline begins with strong leadership, and someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the Ravens HC seems to lack the knowledge on how to correct these issues week in and week out giving lame excuses. It's evident that Harbaugh had no idea how to fix the Ravens. It's time new HC, GM and while at it QB as well.

I see Perriman still dropping passes, Hurst getting Joe sacked, and Ravens trying rookies in the secondary.

Perriman better start stepping it up a notch. A number #1 pick. Lets move onto our #2 pick this year KC. Is it just me or is this the new Arthur Brown? When your team is that banged up and you can't get into the rotation as a #2 pick I'm wondering more than a little.

The offense was still horrible. If we throw 40 to 50 times that is a losing formula.
Two short fields from turnovers and two TD's. What else am I missing?
We are a middle of the pack team at best.
