The good the bad and the ugly post game rant/vent week six

We're a hell of a lot better than Miami. Pittsburgh is beatable. They have an awesome offense but their defense is laughable. Had we not had so many penalties on the offensive end because of young olinemen we probably would have scored more points.

It happens. This week was expected to be one with growing pains at least by me. I'm pleasantly surprised we played so well.

Our OL is a mess and people complain about penalties on them yet put the onus on Harbaugh for the penalties yet ignore the obvious fact that this OL is clearly a mess.

Don't even bother with him lol, rmcjacket thinks he's on the team or something. "Fans need to look in the mirror and ask what we want to be" lol you have to be kidding me.

What can I say... some people just like to do the bare minimum and think they're owed something. Some people think buying a jersey once every 10 years and watching a game every now and then makes them a good fan.

I guess... if that's what helps you sleep at night. Personal accountability is a trait few people carry anymore, and it shows in what people say and most importantly, in what people do.

Jimmy Smith was awesome pre-concussion today. Odell before halftime had 2 catches for 11 yards. Different game if he was out there in the 2nd half.

Yeah, they're holding because they're getting beat up out there.

Hopefully a healthy o line can steady the ship

Say what you want about today... but I personally think we looked good for how many injuries we have at the moment. Offense was exciting with Marty letting Joe air it out. Can't wait to see this team with our O-Line back.

Try looking at the glass half full guys!

Actually I thought Zuttah and Urschel played well today lol. James Hurst was his usual turnstile self when Jensen is still a bad pass blocker.

Stanley-Urschel-Zuttah-Yanda-Wagner

That looks pretty good in the new scheme.

Zuttah was clearly the best OL on the field today, which shouldn't be a huge surprise.  Urschel was up and down.  He got some really good push at times and got destroyed on others.

He did, but he seems to be a better all around guard than Lewis. I think LG is a point of interest in the next draft. But the line as a whole should improve when the starters return. We still put up 23(should have been 26) with a backup oline and without our best WR.

That would be cool.

As long as it doesn't interfere with your perpetually patting yourself on the back.

My hope is that with Lewis spending time at LT, he's going to think playing LG will be a cakewalk when he gets moved back there.

I think Lewis is a solid lineman right now. Not spectacular, but its clear he's somewhat versatile and can certainly play LT better than Hurst. He's the kind of guy you want starting on your line.

It won't. Just like it won't interfere with fans perpetual overreaction and lack of accountability and knowledge.

Will be status quo as normal in that regard.

It's great experience for his likely move to RT next year as well.

Seems to have a mean streak and has improved each week to. I'm actually a big fan of his. Not sure LG is the right fit for him though. If Wagner can't go next week I want to see what Lewis can do if Stanley returns.

Another chapter in the life of Joe stupid and the ten dumbs.  This group has absolutely no concept of strategy but continues to do the same thing over and over again with the same lack of result.  That is the definition of insanity.  24 years in the SEAL teams I have forgotten more strategy than this group will ever learn.  The most basic lesson that Joe stupid has never absorbed and never will is that he is the captain of the team and once the ball is snapped HE is in charge no matter what the coach has decided.  After the snap every player is a receiver but Joe insists on holding onto plan A long after it is clear that plan A doesn't exist.  He just doesn't have it.  The idea is to MOVE THE CHAINS even if it is 3 yds at a time.  As anyone who has ever been shot at in anger will tell you, no matter how careful the plan after the first shot is fired everything turns to crap and the guy who can think on his feet and improvise lives to play another day.  As my people all knew, the guy who said but we have always done it that way, was going to be digging my size 11 out of his butt.  THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX!!!!

When someone posts for the "first" time and it's a very negative comment, I can only wonder which one of our existing forum members created a new account to spew more hate under a new alias.

I believe Lewis can be a good future RT as well as Stanley in the LT spot. By the way, you and account rmw10 wrote over 10,000+ posts Jesus LOL. You spent a lot  time reply other opinions huh.

We do a mock offseason and fantasy draft to kill some time during the offseason.  Check the fantasy section toward the end of the season.

I agree!  It was pathetic!  To be honest...I have no confidence in "THIS" (not those of the past) Ravens offense coming from behind to win games.  Sure, they did it with the Browns but since then...they have been behind in the past 3 games that all seemed to end in the same way...a lose!!!!

Well if it wasn't for the 4th and 1 TD pass to OBJ, the offense actually did come from behind to score late in the game.  Trying to score a TD w/ less than 1:30 and 1 TO is A LOT to ask for any team.  Hell we were gifted two penalties and still couldn't convert.

We had 1 player in his normal position and that's probally our weakpoint just to start.

You cant put the blame on Harbs for penalties but I sure can for not putting sure points on the board. You got almost a quarter left in the game cut it down to 1 pt.

Are you talking about the stop on 4th down at the 1 or whatever that caused the Giants to punt the ball back after they were stopped where we scored the FG?

You coulda kicked the ball in the endzone and the Giants woulda been at the same spot.

Eh, not really. The Giants started in bad field position for that drive, which arguably led to the Giants having to punt the ball back to the Ravens with good field position. That said, it did cause us to lose time off the clock, so it ultimately did potentially cost us the game, but I don't know if it really had this big impact we [fans] claim it did. I have a bigger issue with the accepted penalty back from the Raiders than this call. That said, I barely watched the game due to my job today, so yeah.

  1. Why did you pay Justin Tucker big money to be leaving him on the bench in situations where he is likely able to convert? What is this nonsense. And how many more times will that occur this season behind a starting offensive line that includes Jeremy Zuttah at C, Ryan Jensen at G and Rick Wagner at RT?
  2. And then what is with this NONSENSE where it's 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 4 or 3rd and 3 even and you don't even throw the ball to the sticks????!????!???!!

Never been on the Harbaugh Hate Train...but man.

My opinion Grim you didn't make it in 3 tries and there's almost a quarter left in the game. Knock it down to 1 and reset. Plenty of time you didn't have to score the Td. Seriosly when does John not go for it in that situation.

1. LOL, well, you certainly don't pay a kicker top dollar so he can convert an 18 yard FG on 4th and 1 in the middle of a game. Any high school kicker would do for that.

2. You're literally the only person who thinks Jensen has earned a starting role. Highly unimpressive everytime I've seen him... a very below average pass blocker. Wagner was active but obviously injured, so he wasn't out there today.

The ideal line, to me, is pretty clear. Stanley/Lewis/Zuttah/Yanda/Wagner. Urschel has done fine as the top reserve lineman, but I have questions about the others.

3. The other defenses are sitting at the sticks. So everytime I hear this nonsense from fans asking why you throw a 10 yard completion on 3rd and 15... its because the defenders are defending the 15 yarder, so if you throw it there, its incredibly unlikely it gets completed. We aren't the only team in the league who throws short and wants YAC to convert. Its very common from even some of the best offenses.
