Next Up: Ravens at New York Jets at Metlife Stadium 10/23/2016

No need to drag this prediction out. I have us winning 2 more games this year and initially this was one of them. ( Bet you can't guess who the other team is ) But the sad truth is we are an awful team and even with Flacco playing we are still awful. However the Jets can really stink up the joint but are a better team with Geno Smith. This yawner of a game will be decided by an offensive turnover and late field goal. Jets win  16-13.

Better than whom the Jets with Fitzpick6 at QB or better than the Ravens?

Geno Smith is awful. I would gladly take a Matt Scab over that guy.

A good 1/6 of this forum are fake fans, some are even fair weather fans(Winchester).

To be fair, @LosT_in_TranSlatioN had a little typo. He meant to say he was hoping for a W.

I applaud who got those signs up. Informing the public of a serious issue is always a must.

Are you serious? Geno Smith is mobile and elusive and we always have trouble with mobile QBs. The Jets are a better team with Geno Smith. But that's not the point. The point is the Ravens and the Jets are 2 examples of teams clearly trending downward. It's almost mid-season and none of our remaining home games are sold out. That is a very bad sign and does not bode well for the Harbaugh regime.

I'm hopped up on medication. I've been a fan since the Boller days. I hope for a W every game even if I predict a loss.

I may hate the city I grew up in, but I will always love the team. Unless Steve moves them

I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy sits out this game. Imagine if he played again just a week later, then suffered another concussion. Be safe and give him more recovery time rather than gamble on losing him for a much longer period. Not worth playing him in my book.

LOL, yeah this isn't true.

There is a grand total of ONE ticket available on the official Ravens ticket market for the Ravens/Steelers home game in a few weeks.

Plus, its not like anybody really cares about selling out NFL stadiums anymore. Ticket sales are only the third biggest revenue generator for NFL teams, and not selling out a few hundred tickets really doesn't matter that much.

Plus, as usual, I suspect when you actually get within a few days of the actual game, you'll find most will be sold. They almost always are.

Much ado about nothing.

I'm not as worried about Mallet having to start as I was Jimmy not being able to play, and he returned to practice today so I think he will possibly be ready to go. We're talking about a struggling (to say the least) Jets team that is starting Geno at QB. Last week Mornhinweg showed at least that we're happy to run the ball finally and our oline will be mostly healthy for the first time in weeks, Yanda is still a big missing piece but getting Stanley and Wagner back is pretty big, I'd imagine we're going to move Urschel over to RG and slot Lewis back in at LG. Mallett still has a big arm and the Jets secondary has been getting burned all season, he'll have more time to throw than Joe has been getting since week 3. Even if Joe isn't ready and we start Mallet I definitely think this one is winnable. I'll take Mallet over Geno any day of the week and with a mostly healthy oline I like our chances of establishing a running game with West especially with Wilkerson nursing an injury - possibly being out all together - and being much improved in pass blocking. Mallet's got the arm to make all the throws and this Jets secondary will give him plenty of chances to make those throws. Definite win? nope, it'll be tough and if it's Mallet v. Geno this has the makings of being a very ugly game, but it's definitely winnable.

It'll be interesting to see who our LBs will shake out with Suggs being out. Last week we rolled with Suggs, Orr, McClellan, and Smith, losing Suggs changes things quite a bit. Do with slide in Judon at the other OLB spot, or scoot McClellan out to OLB and let Correa get the start. My money's on the former, we haven't gotten any indication that Correa is ready to start and I doubt we'd hand him the start after giving him almost no playing time all season.

Thanks for making my point for me. Tickets sales are indicative of loss of a fan base. It's is being borne out by our appalling lack of nationally televised games. How long do you think a losing team is going to be supported here in Baltimore? Ad infinitum?  It's more like your posts are ad nauseum. Make sure you take a good look at the empty seats during the Jets game. That's what happens in every city where teams become perennial losers. Another losing season and guess what? We become perennial losers. Sooner or later stuff is going to hit the fan.

Check your facts before posting if possible. As of this moment there are more than 2500 tickets available on NFL Ticket Exchange for the Steelers game...... That's official.

I don't think you understand how the ticket market works.  Not shocking.

After seeing McClellan at ILB, I hope they move him back to OLB for this one.  They need a run stuffer so Judon can stay fresh.

In general at LB, I think we'll see:

1. Orr on 100% of snaps at ILB

2. ZSmith at OLB on over half the snaps

3. Judon at OLB for approximately half the snaps

4. Levine as the dime (assuming the Ravens have enough corners)--ILB on passing downs (the Ravens had 19 dime snaps last week).  I'm expecting almost entirely dime this week for passing situations.

That leaves McClellan and Correa to fill in the remaining snaps.  My hope is:

5. Correa at ILB for 1st down or 2nd and short

6. McClellan at OLB primarily to set the edge

Patrick Onwuasor will also be active again and play ST.  He could possibly have some ILB snaps as well (1 vs. the Giants)

The Ravens are so shorthanded on defense this week, it would not surprise me if a non-LB (perhaps Lawrence Guy or Brent Urban) is practicing to play some 2-down snaps at OLB.  We already saw Pees go to Levine as the nickel and Lewis as the dime for the last 4 snaps vs. the Giants.  Desperate times.

The Ravens injury report currently includes several more players than which inactive spots exist.  I'm guessing the inactives will be:
Suggs, Doom, Hester, Wright, Smith, Yanda, Mosley

That means Willie Henry, c'mon down (and bring every other player with you, even if a limited practice participant).

Flacco will be active as an emergency QB.

Yeah, we've looked horrible the last 3 games, but if we can't beat the 1-5 jets who are winless at home, then yes, it will be official. We suck. A repeat of last season. You want know who's favored? Jets by 2 1/2. Me thinks that we gotta get that monkey off our back and the timing is perfect.this Sunday. Sit back and enjoy this game fellas. No stress this week. Ravens win easily, 27-13.

I will never say this the entire year. Ever.

History says there are no easy wins with the Ravens, since 20 of their last 22 games were decided by 1 possession. (pretty sure that's the stat I heard from Hensley)

crazy to think about this considering we have fielded about a quarter of a practice squad team for most of those games.

The 1-6 Jets have a chance to win. They are going to play the team that smothers itself in penalties and can't score when it has too.  All they have to do is hang around and be within two scores in the 4th Q. That is what kills us. We can't capitalize and we play to the competition. We better win as 3-4 with a week off is bad for morale and gives the Steelers more confidence.

Well let's see if we can beat another sub 0.500 team? But, then it's on the road so we'll have to wait and see. Oh wait, the Ravens haven't done too well at home either this season right? If we lose this game against the Jets, it will be affirmed that we will have a losing season and it isn't status quo in Baltimore next year for sure.

LOL, the NFL ticket exchange is a RESELLER website. It means those tickets have already been sold by the Ravens to somebody.

I'm not going to explain to you what the term "reseller" means... you're just going to have to research that on your own. You're probably the guy who thinks the Ravens or the NFL make money off tickets sold on StubHub...

Hint: they don't.

Or, ticket sales are indicative of a loss in desire league-wide for people to go to games.

Fans are always whining about ticket prices... maybe they actually grew a pair and decided to stop paying for them.

Newsflash... consumer preference started shifting towards NOT attending NFL games a long time ago. Why do you think its only the third biggest revenue source for the NFL?

Why do you think the newer NFL stadiums being built are actually have LESS capacity than some of the older stadiums? Jacksonville, a much smaller market than Baltimore, tarps off hundreds or sometimes thousands of seats for basically every home game. They've been around for 23 years now, and they aren't going anywhere.

According to your baseless logic, they should closed that franchise already.

The words, "win" and "easily" shouldn't even be in the same sentence together when referencing the Ravens, their game play or their opponents.

Let's just "hope" they can win this game before their bye.

BC we had so much trouble with Tyrod Taylor.  Your praising of Geno Smith is laughable.

Going to need a big game from Joe. I don't know if we will be able to move the ball on the ground all that much considering the Jets great run D.

I'm almost considering sitting Joe out for this one. Let Mallet take it and give the Jets a healthy dose of West and Co and use play action to burn their suspect secondary which has been getting torched all year, with BP and Wallace.

The biggest question will be the D. The younger guys have to step up. And you can bet Webb will get caught out of position again for a big score. Need to use the designation on Elam and over the bye give him the practice snaps. OR bring back Hill. Both would be even more preferred.

Great run D? They're ranked 6th and the only team with a run game they've played was Pitt. Seattle, Buffalo, KC, Arizona. None of which have a run game.

What?

Lesean Mccoy and David Johnson? Have you heard how well they've been doing this season?
