[News] Ravens Promote Undrafted Rookie LB Patrick Onwuasor To 53-Man Roster

To make room, Baltimore released guard/tackle Billy Turner, who was claimed off waivers last Wednesday. The move is an indication that the Ravens could be low on linebackers with C.J. Mosley (thigh) doubtful to play.

Yeah, didn't think that Turner would make it on the active roster so soon after signing...this also leads me to believe that at least one or two of our guestionable guys on O-line will be playing tomorrow, seeing how Turner won't be needed as an emergency back-up if we had listed all three questionables on our O-line as inactive.

Nice to see Onwuasor get a chance to play, hopefully he can add some needed pop on special teams. Dude has a really high motor, as long as he doesn't get to caught up in the thrill of the game and make any stupid penalties.

Good move IMO. We need somebody nasty like him out there to create some splash plays- if not on defense for special teams alone. He was wreaking havoc and plucking nerves all throughout camp. Now he just needs to do that to the opposition.

Onwauser is going to have to grow up really quick! I'm not sure how close the PS plays to the playbook but I hope it's close enough that he doesn't get lost. He has a mean streak and we sure could use that, especially on ST.

It's about time! PO fits his playing style perfectly. PISSED OFF!! I swear it seemed like he made 3 or 4 special team tackles in preseason. There was One against the colts(I believe) where he saved a TD.  I think the coaching staff is starting to realize they need to put hungry players on the field for special teams.

Hopefully he doesn't go berserk and get either penalized or thrown out of the game.

How bad does Correa have to be sucking for an undrafted rookie converted from safety from portland state to be passing him as an option to play? is that even D1? we definitely could not have used any cornerback help with that round 2 selection....

Hindsight is 20 20 right? Give me a break, going back now and saying we should've picked this guy......Not to mention you don't even throw a name out there. I don't even like the corners picked in the second half of round 1. Alexander is the viable option looking back in terms of taking a corner with our second pick. And he had ?s which is why he slid so far. Plus we're 5 games into these guys' careers. NFL takes time. I'm as bummed/upset about recent whiffs on high draft picks as anyone, but trying to pick them apart at this point is ridiculous. Not to mention you're basically saying we should've picked a corner in round 2, that would be helping us win games right now....Ramsey is about the only corner from the draft that would be doing that. KC might turn into a force for us, or he might be another Arthur Brown. I would like to see him kicking butt right away too, but it's too early to call him a bust or anything or the sort. Now if we're talking about who we would've rather taken at that spot, I was shouting for Sterling Shepard!!! He could be contributing right now and for a decade to come. SSS would've been the perfect mentor

I like Onwausors' grit and toughness. Glad he is being given a opportunity. Make the most of it young man.

Like you, I was hoping for CB or pass rush but I really can't complain. We tried to move up in the first for Ramsey but it didn't work out. Bosa was the only pass rusher worth a top 5 pick and he was also long gone so Stanley automatically became the best option and I'm glad we took him.

in the second however, I thought a CB or 2 would slide to us along with an elite LT and Spence. All were projected second rounders pre draft but they all went late first 20, 24, 25. Spence had questions and he still isn't a starter on the bucs so I'm not tripping.

That left Jack and jaylon smith who I loved coming into the draft but they went ahead of us and looking at Orrs play, I now understand why ILB was not a priority.

Its easy to tear apart a draft in hind sight but this time, I gotta admit. We got great value for our picks. I hope to see KC playing and influencing games ASAP but it's not like any other pass rusher would have started on this D

3rd round and up. I'm sure mose agree that we killed it with value for picks.

iv criticized drafts often but this draft was a really good one. the only thing I might have changed in hind sight is that I would have traded back into the first just for that 5th year option. But again like you said, the good remaining CBs worth moving for were gone 24 and 25. Moving up that high was never an option.
