23 posts in this topic

The Ravens’ new offensive coordinator said he’s still figuring out what his fingerprint will be on Baltimore’s offense, but even with a banged-up offensive line, he expects results. His confidence is apparent.

I totally like Marty's energy. He seems like a football coach where as Trestman seemed like a college professor. OL get healthy !

Trestman put alot of pressure on the O line with his predictable play calling and now some players got some games under their belts this season and they can look at the film and see their own mistakes and refocus! Like I said I saw alot of positives Sunday and this mite be the boost the Ravens will need to hit the 2nd quarter of the season in the rite direction! Our WRs need throws in the game not just in practice to get the drops out the way and build! Joe's throws in practice and during a game are two different animals and they need to get use to the game time animal because that pass to Aiken should have been to Pitta! No knock on Aiken but Pitta is the only one I think rite now that can catch those Bullets with his Teeth! Lol 2012 season highlights would reveal alot to the OC and Joe used Pitta and Dickinson big time and Torrey and Jacoby were the ICEING ON THE CAKE! WE THE BEST!

The most important thing that needs to happen is getting our running game going and sticking with it (something that Trestman repeatedly refused to do). It will get the pressure off the O-line, it will give Flacco more time to throw and will improve the offense as a whole.
Don't look any further than the opening drive against the Redskins. Perfect combination of running and passing and the result was one of the most promising TD drives I've seen all season.

we need a jamal lewis/jerome bettis type of back for short yardage and change of pace situations. juice has not done it and he always seems to slip or trip over himself after making a catch. west and dixon are the same type of back, allen is a dime a dozen and taliaferro will retire on ir. hope this patchwork line can open some holes so flacco does not have to pass the ball 45 plus times and run for his life. start perriman from now on. he needs the reps to get better

Kick some butts around if you have to Marty. Like the energy, focus and determination. Time to show a pulse on offense and look excited to be on the field every snap.

I remember Joe Flacco throwing 5 TD's against the Bucs in the first half. And 2 TD's in the last 2 minutes at Minn. Let's get back into winning form. Stay positive!

Wow! You should be in the Ravens' front office. You seem to have an answer for all of the ills.

I think that I trust Ozzie, Harbs and Eric DaCosta a bit more, though.

If you search for some Marty soundbites you will find he is one of the more genuine honest men you will ever hear speak. Listen to one of his press conferences. Players love this guy for a reason.

It's hard to ignore the historical parallels that accompany this move. First of all, Trestman got the very least he could get out of the offense (not all his fault). The Ravens now face a mediocre Giants team which they could scorch given the right play calling. With a very good defense they could go on a significant winning streak that could propel them to the playoffs. If they get there then anything can happen with "January Joe".
What I love about the move is the Ravens are really upset about losing 2 games at home with terrible offensive performances. Firing Trestman makes a statement to the league that they believe they should be 5-0 right now,. I think the players can and will respond.....I look for a blow out win against the Giants. We are so much better than they are it would be disgusting if the game was even close.
I am sure Marty has let everyone know if they don't produce they will sit. That should get Perriman's attention at least. He should be having a breakout year but dropping the ball and poor foot position makes him almost a joke. Right now I wouldn't blame the Ravens for cutting him and bringing back Jeremy Butler.
What I expect to see is the emergence of Darren Waller as a TD machine. This guy can be unstoppable in the red zone and overall as well. IMO he is the best receiver on the team and will have a huge impact going forward. He will be playing as the #2 and #3 wideout as well as TE depending on the offensive scheme. But trust me, he is a matchup nightmare at 6'6 and with 2.6 speed. He is a bigger, faster and stronger Anquan Bolden. I think they are saving him for the Steeler game. He will be a game breaking receiver before the season is done.
I also look forward to the emergence of Chris Moore who will become a reliable receiver for Joe as the season goes on. The same goes for Dixon who will become the Raven's #1 RB. Morningway will get these guys to play well at the NFL level. Morningway is superb at recognizing talent and IMO will have Waller, Dixon and Moore leading a high powered Ravens offense. They will put up 28 a game from here on out is my humble prediction.
But the defense is why the Ravens will go 11-5, win the North and return to the playoffs for a deep run. They have played incredibly well in the first 5 games and have the talent and depth to continue that trend. Putting Judon on inactive last game shows the incredible depth with which Pees is dealing.
This is a very talented team with great depth. The wins over Buffalo and J'ville were quality wins. Oakland could very easily win the AFC West. Last week was an inexcusable loss to an inferior team, and every team will have one. The comeback against Cleveland showed how good they really are. And the reason they are so good is they have a great defense.....even Rex Ryan said as much after the Buffalo game.
So Raven's fans take heart....we have an excellent team that is just finding it's groove right now. What I can say for sure is that we are better than both the Steelers and Ciny.

When down as much as an offense can be, "high expectations" = you can only go up. Can we please take some type of command of this game? Joe!?
Go Marty. Go Ravens.

Perriman needs to get good, first. When has Flacco ran (lol) for his life ? He'll stand in the pocket for 10 minutes- or play a round of monopoly before he decides to run. That is half of Joes problem

Anyone expecting a blowout is in for a rude awakening. That's not this team right now, not this year. We need to play sound, fundamental football. Find our opponents' weaknesses and exploit them while limiting our own mistakes. It's as simple as that.

This game is winnable, the team with the least amount of mistakes will come out on top.

On the road against a desperate Giants team. Not a good combination. If we let ELI stand back there all day with our 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississippi , 4 Mississippi rush he will look like Peyton in his prime.

Giants are 3 point favorites. The Ravens will either win by a Tucker FG or get beat soundly by a desperate Giants team on the road. The injuries and just being completely out of sync right now could make for a long afternoon. Here's hoping I'm dead wrong.

All the talk means nothing, nothing. Weak OL, dropped passes, no running game, bad play calling, injuries, there are plenty of excuses. All that really matters is what happens on the field. What i don't like is that Harbaugh fires an OC (good move, though, well needed), calls out specific players about specific plays, talks about having to work and get better, etc., etc., etc.. But, all he does is ignore, or defend, All his bonehead calls, lack of skills in clock management, in game decisions, in game adjustments, his inability to have his team ready to play at the opening whistle, insistence of having Only "yes men" on his roster and staff, along with his other shortcomings. When is he going to take ownership of how much He is contributing to the sorry play we are seeing on the field each week? I suspect, never. Let's face it, it hasn't been only these last two losses. We have not looked good, other than the defense and Tucker, yet this season. I'm a RavenManiac no matter what our record, and always will be, but I am fast beginning to question whether or not Harbaugh is truly an asset or a detriment to our team

Let's temper expectations. Remember that dominating Rex Ryan defense the Jets had those few years? Remember how pathetic that offense was that went with that defense? That was Marty.

I don't see any brilliant insight coming out of this guys mouth. Maybe he just sucks with the media, but he comes across as a complete doofus to me. There is a reason 32 teams didn't want him and he is relegated to a QB coach. 5 coordinators now, and the offense has not evolved with Flacco whatsoever. Not saying much of anything to reassure me he knows how to solve the issues.
