When the player intercepts the ball but then fumbles...yeah he should maintain possession...and that's no joke ? How did that stupid touchback rule start anyway...and why? Interception is an interception. To intercept means to get the ball away from opponents offense BECAUSE YOU CAUGHT IT. It's caught, it's done...our ball (at 1 yard line). Er, or should be imho. Sure would have been nice to have that one back!

Yea, never understood that touchback rule. If you fumble and it goes out of bounds, its still your ball. If you intercept it, make a "football move", you are now in possession. If you fumble out of bounds or out of the end zone, it's still your ball. stupid rule.
