The Ravens cornerback said trash talking is ‘not really my game.’ He calls Odell Beckham Jr. a top-five NFL talent, but said it will be up to his coaches to decide if he shadows Beckham during Sunday’s game.

I'd be happily surprised if Smith shadowed him cause it would be a great matchup.

Do got the feeling someone gets into with Beckham however

Keep Quiet and play!!!! Don't poke a sleeping bear!!! Especially one that can run as fast as he can!!!!

Always thought it was the ridiculous catching ability and routes for Beckham? Granted it was straight line 40 times but Beckham was only 0.03 seconds faster than Smith at the combine

Our safeties must keep an eye on him regardless (that and whoever Wright covers lol)

Agree with Budman, Jimmy isn't living up to his paycheck enough to be trashtalking anyone.

Having said that i would love to see that matchup this weekend and see Jimmy get the best of it.  Good luck to ya Jimmy.

true....trash talking shouldn't have anything to do with it though if it's just going to effect his game in a bad way

It's no reason why you're top corner doesn't shadow one of the best WR in the game. Period. We saw what that did when Pitt played Washington. No reason. Smith needs to follow OBJ wherever he goes. No exception.

Odell will be on all the highlights after this game. Ravens BETTER run the stupid ball or they all should get fired.

Jimmy typically plays LCB but will move depending on the formation. Tavon Young will play RCB this week. Young outplayed Wright big time so far. Roll with the playmakers.

False. Every coach has their own scheme. You could leave Jimmy on the left side to hold it down without help, and put another CB and a safety on a dangerous WR like Odell. This game is much more complex than us fans even realize. Talking heads always make it seem simple, so they can relate to the public.

Whomever is on the cry baby watch out for quick passes to him to get him the ball in the open field and double moves because I know he saw Crabtree use it and he mite feel he can do the same thing! Jimmy and Young will try to hold their WRs down but not blitzing will help them big time! Cannot forget about their other WRs and they mite use the cry baby as a decoy but maybe not Eli prolly doesn't want to here the sniveling from the whining cry baby! He mute bust a gasket after thus beat down coming Sunday! Oh yeah WE THE BEST!

It's just going to be a rough season for us. I'm expecting the worst and hoping for the best but I'm definitely keeping my enthusiasm down or I'll have a stroke!
Already thinking of draft pick position. Marty is going to have to be REAL inventive to cover all these holes!

Jimmy's a really good CB but o don't think he's a good matchup for Odell. Odell's a small, really fast, quick and technical WR. Don't think Jimmy's ever been good against those types.

J. Smith got beat by Garcon so no need for him to follow OBJ around. Ravens pass rush needs to show up. Don't forget about Cruz and Shepard. This is a big test for the Ravens defense.

Jimmy Smith makes almost as much illegal contact as Trump! Shut your mouth and produce. The way you play makes me think you are a secret agent for other teams! Webb included.

The man said it's not his game to trash talk. Some people here really have comprehension problems with reading. Jimmy doesn't need to trash talk to get in this dude's head because his head problems already exist. OBJ is his own worse enemy.

Just play smart , DISCIPLINED football. Don't give them any big plays over the top and take advantage of the mistakes when they come. One play at a time. Get off the field on third down and no BONEHEAD penalties that extend drives..no pressing to make plays- just let them come to you. The splash plays will come if your patient... The most important thing is executing them when they do come and not trying to do too much ..ex. CJ last week. Trust your teammates and play ravens football. We can beat ANY team on any given Sunday. Let's go get this W and get back on the right track.

I thought Jimmy had been playing pretty good. I rarely hear his name called during the game; which is a good thing.

Look back at who the touchdowns were on.

Bottom line is our pass rush needs to show up to the game! Our corners can't cover guys for 15 seconds at a time every play. I have yet to see Sizzle or Doom make an impact on a game. Step the heck up and help out our poor secondary. Ol flat foot Jimmy got burnt so bad last week, Garcon was already spiking the ball and, doing his TD celebration before Jimmy even got out of his turn. SMH
