2016 Week 6 Other Games Discussion

160 posts in this topic

Week 6 is here and the playoff race is starting to take shape as we see which teams are contenders, and which teams are the pretenders. Divisions are starting to shape up as strong, weak or just plain bad(looking at you AFC and NFC South) and we have only one undefeated team remaining who will remain undefeated unless the BYE week defeats the Vikings.

Broncos @ Chargers: First thing, get well soon Gary! Mike McCoy is on borrowed time every time the Chargers seemingly find a way to lose games. Facing a Broncos team coming off it's first loss of the year, it will be interesting to see whether Paxton Lynch or Trever Siemian will get the start this week. Broncos look to rebound, while will this be the loss that seals Mike McCoy's fate?

49ers @ Bills: Kaepernick returns as the 49ers starting QB for the first time since last season as the Niners are benching Blaine Gabbert. The Bills have seemingly found life after firing Greg Roman(who was the OC in San Fran) and the Niners are looking for a life line. GM Trent Baalke is apparently on the hot seat, and have to wonder if Chip Kelly is any closer to coaching College Football again.

Eagles @ Redskins: Fresh off a Super Bowl Clinching Victory for the Ravens, the Redskins look to improve to 4-2 on the year and take down an Eagles team who suffered their first loss last weekend to the Lions. It seemed Washington was down, the team hated on Kirk Cousins and now welcome the Eagles to town in a key NFC East Battle.

Browns @ Titans: The Tennessee Titans continue to play well and picked up a win over the Dolphins last week. With the Titans having a chance in a weak division and playing well, Mike Mularkey may have earned himself another year as Head Coach. For the Browns... they will be 10 games away from joining the 2008 Lions in the 0-16 Club.

Panthers @ Saints: In one year, the Carolina Panthers have lost more games than they did all of last season. Sitting at 1-4 after another home loss to the Buccaneers, it seems the team has imploded. The Saints meanwhile continue to waste away what's left of Drew Brees' career. Loser sits in the basement looking way up to the Falcons.

Jaguars @ Bears: The Jaguars come off their bye traveling to Chicago to face the Bears. The Bears offense has found new life under Brian Hoyer and it seems Jay Cutler will have a hard time getting the starting job back. Jacksonville looks to win and stay alive in a division race that anyone can win.

Rams @ Lions: The Lions were able to knock off the 3-0 Eagles and look to do the same to the 3-2 LA Rams this weekend. The Lions are a team that can't figure out who they want to be. One week they let Aaron Rodgers throw 4 TDs in one half, the next week they win. Lions need to be more consistent if they want to compete with the Vikings and Packers. According to the Jeff Fisher chart.... this is loss and drops them to .500 on the year.

Steelers @ Dolphins: Remember 2007 when we gave the 1-15 Dolphins their only win? The way the Dolphins are playing, the Browns are the ones that will give them their only win of the year in 2016. Miami really should be the one on the 0-16 watch(if not for Kicking issues in Cleveland) and with Pittsburgh coming to town, it's not going to get better.

Bengals @ Patriots: We should be thankful the Bengals never promoted Mike Zimmer to Head Coach. The Bengals sit at 2-3 and likely 2-4 after a "rusty" Tom Brady gets through with them. Have to wonder if Mike Brown will finally pull the trigger on Marvin Lewis if they miss the playoffs in 2016.

Chiefs @ Raiders: The Raiders are on the rise in Oakland, and face the Kansas City Chiefs in a huge divisional game as they sit tied with the Broncos at 4-1. The Chiefs meanwhile come off their bye looking to upset the Raiders at home and put a dent in their divisional hopes. The AFC West is shaping up to be one of the better divisions in the NFL this year.

Falcons @ Seahawks: The Atlanta offense is red hot and they look to stay hot against the LOB. Falcons are running away with the NFC South and a loss won't hurt them but potential playoff seeding rights are on the line as this could play a factor into how the NFC Playoff Picture shakes out. The Seahawks need this win to take advantage of the Cardinals struggles in their hopes to take back the NFC West.

Cowboys @ Packers: Another huge game in the NFC that will determine how the playoff picture shapes up. The Cowboys are led by two rookies in Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott and face their toughest challenge yet in the form of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Will the Cowboys' rookie tandem continue to leap ahead in the NFC East or will the Packers halt their momentum.

Colts @ Texans: Oh yes, the answer to the declining primetime ratings is a battle between two teams in the worst division in the NFL. Does the NFL remember flex scheduling started last week... flexing out Colts/Texans in favor of Eagles/Redskins, or Falcons/Seahawks would have been the way to go. Anyway, with the Titans likely to beat the Browns, and if the Colts beat Houston, all three teams will be sitting at 3-3 through six weeks.

Jets @ Cardinals: Something tells me the primetime game ratings this week will continue to suffer. Much like the MNF game the 1-3 Bucs and Panthers, this week gives us the 1-4 Jets traveling to the 2-3 Arizona Cardinals. Todd Bowles returns to Arizona looking to further the Cardinals issues in 2016 and look to get back on track after a poor 1-4 start.

I was also glad that the Bengals missed out the opportunity to promote Mike Zimmer for the HC; I never thought once the Vikings defense was that good and it absolutely credits to Zimmer's elite defense of mind....

Bengals and Patriots are good game to watch and the Patriots should destroy them....

I hope the Dolphins pulls out the upset..

The P*triots will probably lose on purpose to help ensure they don't see us in the playoffs.

it's kind of strange how the Pats ain't scare nobody but us.......totally a match up kind of thing......

I think Denver takes this one tonight. Chargers always find a way to lose. How long until McCoy is out in San Diego?

Maybe after tonight if they again blow a lead and lose. They need to trade Rivers, let him go have a chance to win a Super Bowl and use those picks to rebuild the team. Then use their first on one of the top rated QBs next year.

Last season, I thought it was a home game for the Broncos when they played in San Diego. I expect this to continue tonight.

San Diego is a home game for most NFL teams. I know we have a pretty big crowd when we play there

Denver's uniforms look kinda like something the Browns would wear

Their uniforms look like Ravens Talk after a loss.

The Chargers' ones look good though.

Just curious, who was a better prospect coming out of college, maxx Williams or hunter Henry?

Maxx Williams was easily the best TE. I honestly think Maxx is just buried in the depth chart. He's not taking targets away from Pitta and he has Gilmore in front of him. Henry would be in the same situation. TE's usually don't contribute right out of the gates like this though, Henry looks like he's going to be a great player.

Sad we draft all these players but usually they don't "start" til the final year of their rookie contracts..

I still think Williams is a guy who will contribute by his 3rd or 4th season. It's tough to be in his position.

San Diego is about to drive 99 yards against Denver. I don't think that's ever happened to our defense this year.

Technically it'll only be 93 :D  The ball was placed on the SD 7 because that's where the Denver gunner touched the ball first.

Well the Chargers failed both of us nonetheless lmao.  They are making the Denver defense look lost right now, even with a bunch of penalties against the Chargers offense.

Yeah it's impressive by San Diego and most importantly Philip Rivers, not a whole lot of guys he got down there to throw to.

Chargers first drive looking good.  Would be very convenient if the Broncos would lose to start this week.

Chargers are up 10-0..... You know what that means.
