Good for Steve for taking the high road and not saying anything about Trestman but the answers to those questions should be pretty obvious.

First, if your running back is averaging 9 yards a carry you don't stop feeding him the rock and secondly if you pay a 120 million dollars to a QB whose strong point is throwing the ball downfield you don't stop throwing it downfield. Don't blame the O-Line because there are ways to help your O-Line like the play downfield to Perriman where the team went into Max Protect and let Wallace and Perriman go long. That was the first and last time I saw that this year. Ā All year, Trestman hasn't used a TE to chip outside rushers, the running backs provided little protection because they are the favorite people Trestman wanted to throw it to. If you have a line to protect the QB that allows the TE and RB to go free and not chip, thats fine, but when you don't, you just don't ignore it and keep doing the same things over and over.

I think its pretty obvious that we will run as long as the runs are there and will play-actionĀ when they start filling the box to stop the run. Also, pounding the run will help slow the pass rush. Its almost like Trestman just ignored the fact his O-Line was pieced together and he just ignored that they were constantly getting beat and Joe was getting beat up. Its almost like he was going to do what he wanted to do and he decided the skill of the players or the skill of the defense, or the score of the game, wasn't going to factor into what he wanted to do.

You can want to throw deep but if your o-line can't keep you upright for more than a second, it's not gonna work. Seems like the Redskins went man-to-man yesterday and none of the Ravens WRs could get open (during that 1 second before the pocket collapsed), so that's got to be sorted out too.

Glad SSr's injury isn't bad, sounds like it isn't anyway. Can walk on it a very good sign.

Yeah, never want to see ppl fired...they are humans with lives, families. But it's to be understood in NFL it happens fairly regularly to coaches, and players (released or traded). Still it's not ideal. Ideal is to have everyone together and functioning cooperatively, so now they start with Mornhinweg...a new beginning. I truly wish there be stability with this so we get an OC that sticks around.

Part of this problem was abandoning the run. Everything went smooth during that first offensive drive. We made it very easy for the Redskins' defense by passing on pretty much every play. It's a lot easier to defend against the pass when you can blitz on every play and not worry about a running game at all.

This is the best decision the ravens have made all year. I can't believe harbaugh lied about not thinking they abandoned the run. Is he blind? If we continue losing we can't blame the OC anymore. Harbaugh should be on the hot seat next.

You hit the nail on the head. The line isn't giving Joe enough time to get the ball down field, and our WRs aren't getting open. It looked like there were plenty of play calls that were intended to go down field, but Joe either didn't have enough time or he had to check it down because no one was open. Flacco actually made up for their lack of separation by throwing perfect passes into small windows, but they dropped them. Hopefully, our new OC will be able to draw up some plays to get our receivers open, because they aren't doing it on their own.

We're trying to get SSS a Ring for one thing, so if no one saw a firing coming then I guess you don't know how the Ravens operate.

not all on trestman. everyone involved with the offense including position coaches need to do a better job. cannot continue to drop passes, or to miss wide open receivers/te's or run plays short of the 1st down marker on 3rd downs. special teams need to tighten up as well as the pass rush.

looks like we need to make a trade to upgrade our o-line starter/depth with a veteran. this is a banged up group and we are only 5 games in

I'm more than fine with Yanda at RT, find a legit RG, easier to find than a solid RT at this stage of the season.....

I just hope the new O coordinator can teach Perriman how to catch. Cuz that's why we lost that game. Also we need someone to teach Moseley that you can just run out of bounds at the 1 yard line and the offense will get a yard for us. He doesn't have to win the game by himself. I agree that we were too conservative under Trestman though. With Kubiak, it was pound, pound, pound, take a shot. And the running game keyed everything. BUT we had a healthy Ray Rice then too.

Another tackle/guard is worth a look. Yanda is a big guard who can play tackle too. It would be nice to find one quickly. What is the update on Stanley? will he practice this week?

I just hope it is as easy as firing Trestman. Joe apparently got his wish... hope he takes advantage of the new situation he finds himself in.

Remains to be seen? Not sure about Joe? Too inaccurate and the back foot lobs kill me. I watch Rookies play better than Joe. Hasn't played up to his contract since signing it. A lot a money to pay 1 guy to Not perform.

JFYI...It was Justin Forsett last year, not Ray Rice. Also pretty sure Mosley will not do THAT again, he said he learned his lesson!!!Ā

The coaching is killing the momentum each game. All of it. You can't ask the defense to be on the field most of the game and still be viable in the last quarter. Plus the play calling has to match your manpower and talent. I see a lack all the way around but the offense was a good place to start. More changes will be coming if they don't light a fire under this team.

i'd lik to know why the players are off monday,if you lose you practice, they'l focus if they have to work after a loss.

They have a union contract that guarantees them a day off.

Harbaugh wasn't aware of it because we had so few plays. When u go 3 and out or 4 and out you can run the ball each one of your possessions and still only run it 8 times.

Hopefully we get new routes for the WR. They couldn't get open against Washington's backups. When Kubiak was our coach he really stressed Joes footwork. Joe needs to get back to basics and practice that footwork. I don't know much about our new O.C. but I hope hes got his head on straight.
