We could have had him or Derrick Henry. Henry fell into our laps,  he just looked like a perfect fit for us.

We could've had a lot of ppl. Spence, jack, Alexander, Will fuller, Boyd, Sheppard just to name a few.

Woulda coulda shoulda. Let's reserve judgment atleast until year 3.

Just waived Billy Turner. Bodes well for our offensive line and either Stanley, Wagner or yanda being able to go. Although he wouldn't have played this week anyway so who knows really. I like the decision to promote peanut tho.

don't know about all this. I like being 3-2 if we finish the whole year out like that its 9-6 with 1 game to play, win or loss that likely playoffs!

Man, I saw another one, thought the club is growing but that other one was talking about Hunter.

Wonder if DH would have done more than Correa so far.

I thought Whitehair was a first round talent. His mental acuity seemed to be beyond his years. He's currently PFF's 6th highest graded center, though I feel that he'd be even more comfortable at OG. Could play RT in a pinch.

yeah i liked whitehair. he was easily BPA there. i also liked correa through the whole process though, i just think we got enamored with his explosiveness and reached for a need all at once.

Many of us have seen that a great deal of our offensive woes have been due to subpar line play.  I'm sure some would argue most of those woes are due to it.  As much as I've seen through the first seven weeks there is still much I don't know as far as root causes for these issues.  How much of the line's trouble is due to injuries?  Who's playing out of their 'natural' position?  Who's in reasonably good shape and simply failing to execute?  How much of this (if any of it) is on Juan and Co.?  Thanks in advance for all the useful insight.

UPDATE: So my 'Help me develop a rational picture of the o-line' topic got merged with this.  Man, if only this thread got as much input as the merged Flacco hate threads do.

I started this thread BEFORE this game, But here I am asking the same question. How do we fix the awful O line?

Get Yanda and Stanley healthy is step one.  Obviously.

Some GREAT questions.
I am sure people smarter than my elf will chime in.  But I am pretty sure ZERO players in our o-line were in their "correct positions" today.  Marshal Yanda is a multi pro-bowl attender.  He is leaps and bounds significantly better than his back up.
Ronnie Stanley is a rookie, but certainly seems to me ( subjective ) that he is also pro bowl material.  His back up is not as good.  The rest of the o-line just got steamrolled today.  Out muscled, out smarted and out played.  Plain and simple.  The Jets d-line was far better than our O-line.  Nothing else can be said.

Same, I knew the kid would be plug and play good and was hoping we could land him in the second.

John Urschel and Jeremy Zuttah belong in the CFL. They're out of their depth in this league.

John Urschel can proof out why we get beat on each play at least

I'm sorry but many teams go through a whole plug and play on the OL, and they don't play nearly that bad. The Jets lost Mangold early, and still didn't play that bad. This is directly on Juan, you've had 2 weeks of this, and even prior they looked off. If you can't get your players to stop making stupid penalties and even when they get it right they still are horrible than you need to go do something else, because you're time is over as a coach.

Speaking of OL woes. We know that Lewis is not a LT and hoping Urschel would be the next C after getting rid of Zuttah just isn't happening. Maybe it's Jensen.

We could trade for someone to help shore up the line. I think it's become clear that Jensen, Zuttah and Urschel are better backups than starters.

If only there was a top 5 guard cut in the preseason the Ravens could have claimed off waivers.  Line would be Sitton in a much better place right now.

Sitton for 7M Brandon Brooks for 8M or even Stefan Wisneiwski for 1.5M

Jensen spent most of his pre-NFL life at Center.  With Yanda's return, and Stanley's return on the horizon, I think it's time to give that a try.  He looked pretty good in his last two outings, and I don't think he'll get caved into the pocket as much as Zuttah seems to.

On the other hand, if anyone watched the Seahawks-Cardinals game........THOSE are horrible O-lines.

It was popular opinion here in 2013, vanished in 2014, but maybe we should start talking about it again, Castillo....

Doesnt seem like a coincidence that it's only worked since Kubiak was here and regressed severely when he left.

All I know is that with an offensive line of Stanley-Lewis-Zuttah-Yanda-Wagner, the Ravens are 3-0. Any other combination (especially with no Stanley), and the Ravens are 0-4. Coincidence? I think not.

Losing Yanda really hurt this team. Stanley also hurt as well. Steve Smith Sr is another one whose loss hurts us. I agree that getting those guys back really helps this team a lot.

While I do think Joe has played poorly this year, he has never had an offensive line that was good or great

The line with Joe under center has had Mckinnie,Hurst,Zuttah,Monroe ,The Matador(Cousins) and many other clowns.

No decent offensive line depth either.

Give Joe the time and he will step into throws and make big plays.

I'm actually going to be surprised if Alex Lewis starts the Pitt game if Stanley is back. We all know Harbs has his doghouse and if Lewis isn't in it, I don't know who is.

What makes you think Lewis is in the doghouse?

The o-line is the biggest problem and if that is fixed, we can do much better and start winning games That said though, there two other big problems as well.

1. Flacco consistently throws off of his backfoot. I get that he is scared but if he doesn't step into throws, he will be throwing bad interceptions all season and miss easy throws like he has done in all games this season. The coaches HAVE to get it into flacco's mind to step into the throws.

2. Our WRs can never get separation for some reason. At this point, it has to be the WRs coach that's the problem, not even the offensive scheme because we have been seeing this for season after season. Why can't our WRs ever get separation? After this many years and different o-coordinators, it has to be the scouting/coaching problem.

One thing i would like to see more of is the dink and dunk offense like we did the 2nd quarter. It was pretty effective and we moved the chains well. Ofc, that stopped working in second half because they didn't fear our run game at all.

He negated West's 49 yard run, then had another penalty and got viciously chewed out. I think he's gonna be a decent lineman, but I also think the lack of dropoff from him at guard to Urschel or Jensen makes him prone to being disciplined. I don't think it's permanent, and he can certainly redeem himself in practice, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a Stanley-Urschel/Jensen-Zuttah-Yanda-Wagner line coming out of the bye.
