[News] Breshad Perriman: I Have To Make That Catch

42 posts in this topic

You know who caught everything in traffic last year? Aiken. Maybe we need to go Smith/Aiken. Don't forget Kamar also runs a 4.45.

Yeah, Aiken has had some tough breaks these last 2 games. But I still remember how good he is in traffic making those catches last year, like you said. Plus his speed. SO, I haven't given up on him despite one bad game with Raiders and a not great game with Skins. I know he is a one to rely on, and looks like we'll need him more this next game with Smith recovering. Hopefully SS plays but probably he'll have limited play if at all, on the ankle recovery issue. So...bring in #11!

Perriman is impressive thus far...those drops are what he needs to fix, but I've seen his talent show. The foot out of bounds that call back the TD...well that would have been a tough one to pull off having to go up high for the catch and then extend the right foot back in bounds after it was already headed out. But, man oh man if only that play would have went in our favor. It was a good catch in end zone. Thus I'm still hopeful, very hopeful for Perriman just getting some more experience and not making those rookie mistakes in time.

Should have rode Mike Wallace at the end. He would have been smart enough to drag his feet. Fans said Perriman drop passes in college. Man were they right but what do they know that Ozzy gets paid to know?

I was yelling at the screen the entire fourth quarter; "throw the ball deep to Wallace!" Theyre not really running any deep sideline routes.. Even if you don't catch it there's a chance for PI.  really wish perriman would have got that foot down. That would have done wonders for his confidence. I was so looking forward to seeing his big smile at the presser talking about winning the game. Esp it being over Norman would've made it even sweeter. Was just too good to be true.

Yeah didn't we try that last week? Smith is the only guy I have faith in with the game on the line. Soon as he went down in the first quarter i knew we were in trouble. Just glad he's not seriously injured. Hopefully he doesn't miss any time.

Couldn't watch the entire game but I though Perriman missed a long pass that is caught by good NFL (college, HS) receivers during the 1st quarter. I know he's just getting to start after injuries but he doesn't look good.

I think he looked VERY good considering he just got back in, what, Week 1 or 2? He didn't even work out in OTA's or Camp. Give the guy time. It's week 5, which means he has what, 3 weeks in???

Give the guy a break. That was NOT an easy catch. You saw Torrey not get his foot down and miss many more that were so much easier.

If he was not a first round pick he be gone.

how many passes has Perriman dropped this year?

If you are going to quote me, then get it right....  THAT quote was from another member...  Mine was this:

And I stand by that statement.  When a guy has 3 or 4 weeks working with an NFL team, he deserves some patience at best!

I'd bet you that Aiken has dropped as many this year as Perriman.  He's had 2 or 3 that I know of right now that hit him in the chest and hands that he hasn't been able to hold on to; and he's a seasoned multi-year veteran.  If we are looking at speed, then I think Perriman's 4.24 is a little more impressive speed.

Perriman couldn't catch the FLU. This guys continues to fall short of all expectations. Firing Trestman surely will not change his ability one iota. A song from the '80s comes to mind. "Don't pay The Perriman". Oops that was "Don't pay the Ferryman" wasn't it? At any rate he sure is not worth what he is getting paid.

I'm sorry, I meant for that question to go to the other member.  I'm not really sure how that happened.  I completely agree with you and I figured out the answer to my question http://stats.washingtonpost.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=28414&team=33.  He has dropped a total of ZERO catchable balls this season.

Well he has one less drop than both Steve Smith and Dennis Pitta and I can assure you that they are getting paid way more than he is.  He has also caught some balls that were way off target.  That was clever though.
