Lol, he'd rather drop other four from that list

Has points on the scoreboard been a problem for the last 8+ years, or has it been a problem recently and fans are just extending it all the way back to the beginning of time to fit the narrative?

I guess to be fair to them, it has been a problem two of the three past years, and is beginning to become a problem this year as well.

Although "two of three past years" is completely different from "the past nearly decade".

The thread is titled; "Name 5 QB's that "YOU'D" Rather Have than Flacco".  It's not a debate!  That becomes personal preference.  Everyone in here that knows me.including you OU knows that Tyrod "T-Mobile" Taylor is and has always been my dude.  It's no secret!

P.S. I'll also be making that 4 hrs drive up to Baltimore for that Steelers game in a few weeks as well OU and we BETTER NOT LOSE!! :D

You just love you some Tyrod.. you see the video of him lining up behind the guard this week. It reminded me of pee wee football

my five I'd say are probably better overall than joe but Rodgers/Brady are only ones I'd take over joe

Rodgers

brady

Ben

Brees

Newton

You know I do Diz!  :D

Tyrod is my dude man!  Yeah!  I did see him line up under the guard.  I was rolling!  Honest mistake that other QB's have made.  I notice some cats in here clowning him for that move BUT leaving out this move that he made finishing up a TD drive.  The 1:20 mark is a killer!

I actually like both Prescott and Wentz, but it would be foolish to take either over Joe Cool as who knows how they will perform long term much less in the tournament.

No, you can tell the people that have virtually no accountability in their own lives and try to bark out demands like they own the place.

And you can definitely tell the people who don't watch any other games outside of the Ravens games, and the fullest extent of their knowledge of other teams is in the box scores and ignorant radio call in listeners.

Ugh. Where to begin...

1. Its 2016. Nobody cares about completion percentage, yardage, or Passer rating. They're horrific measurements of QB success. Passer rating isn't even a statistic people take seriously.

2. If you claim to be taking contracts into account, then lets do that. Why no mention of 2013, when Stafford made $18.5M and had 23 turnovers? Or in 2012, when he had more turnovers than passing TDs? Why no mention of those?

Are we also just going to ignore the Lions record during Stafford's tenure as well? I thought QBs as good as him were supposed to elevate their team to a level where they'd start winning games, no?

3. No weapons? Golden Tate isn't a weapon? So those 100 catches and 1300 yards two years ago isn't enough to classify him as a weapon?

I'd trade their WR core for ours straight up in a heartbeat, and so would Flacco.

4. I think Torrey Smith kind of debunked the whole "Joe doesn't elevate the players around him" theory. I think that one's been officially put to bed.

5. Isn't a QB in the league that carries his team. That includes all the "great" one's... Brady, Rodgers, Brees, etc. They aren't individually carrying anything. When their teammates don't play well, they lose. I can fire examples after examples out of a cannon of this for eternity.

Fans that think that just simply don't understand football.

Keep fighting the good fight.  I strongly agree with you.  I don't understand all the Flacco hate, but it frustrates the heck out of me.  I watched today's game and then looked at the message boards and was legitimately SHOCKED at how much of the discussion is criticizing Joe and saying he's not the guy for this team.  Joe is by far the least of our worries.  He delivered a hell of a deep ball to Perriman today that was... DROPPED.  Could have been a huge TD.    End of the game, he does it again, but Perriman can't tap his toe in bounds, then Wallace DROPS the 4th down pass.  There has been an absurd amount of vital, key dropped passes this season that would have been utterly game-changing.  But let's blame Flacco.  Sure.  Right.  He has no pass protection, no pocket, and the receivers are getting draped downfield so he has only the tightest of windows to try to throw the ball into or just settle for a check down that for some reason our "playmakers" can never make a yard after the catch on.  It's a pretty pathetic offense, of course, but Flacco, again, is not the problem in it.

It's all infuriating, you guys are spot on. The one time Joe's WR didn't let him down he was criticized saying Boldin carried him. I've seen every game Dalton and Flacco have played, one has the 4,000 yard 30TD mark, one is in a different league than the other and it isn't close.

Joe is not off to a good start this year but that doesn't mean that I would can him. Note: Last year's top QB is off to a bad start too (Cam Newton: 6 TDs 5 Ints, 80.2 rating) but don't use Cam as an excuse. It's just an FYI.Beginning with Joe.'s stats then 5 QBs with a better year (some do it year-after-year).

Joe Flacco: 5 TDs 4 Ints, 80.1 rating. (bad start)
Tom Brady: 3 TDs 0 Int, 127.7 rating (one game).
Ben Roethlisberger: 15 TDs, 4 Ints, 106.6 rating.
Matt Ryan:  12 TDs 2 Ints, 121.6 rating.
Derek Carr: 11 TDs, 3 Int,  102.3 rating.
Aaron Rodgers: 9 TDs 3 Ints, Rating 87.7
Russell Wilson: 5 TDs, 1 Int, 99.3 rating.
honorable mention: Carson Wentz  7 TDs, 1 Int, rating 103.5 (cheap rookie contract)
Honorable mention 2: Tyrod Tarlor, (I know, I know!) 6 TDs, 2 Ints, 88.9 rating. His avg run of  6.5 VS Joe's 1.7 would come in handy with the OL problems this team is having, like it or not.

He always has a knack for making the throws to win the game, they're dropped a lot unfortunately. Joe already has 4 dropped TDs this year arguably.

Don't worry Mili they owe you one, they seem to play well vs them a lot lately

These Ravens have struggled as a whole but mightily on offense in particular in every game now for 5 weeks straight.  And they added insult to injury by their pathetic and embarrassing performance against and in their loss to the Deadskins.  The Deadskins man!  Smh!  And now, just cause Trestman got the boot and Marty is up as the new O.C., we're to think that one change will all of a sudden cause them to play like world beaters on the road in NY against the Giants who are also desperate for a win after losing 3 games straight themselves?  I don't think so OU!  C'mon my brother! :D

I agree, I think of you when I think of this argument: What have they demonstrated for us to think they're capable of a complete 60 minutes on offense? Nothing since Kubiak left....

I was mainly talking about the Steeler game though, they owe you one lol. We will be severe underdogs in that game and maybe just maybe it's our arch rivals coming to town that will turn our offense around.

But also, if WRs start making plays and Perriman gets better the offense will get better.

That's my point!  UNTIL these Ravens on offense in particular "do" differently in their game play and on a consistent basis from game to game I can't get and neither will I be all gung-ho about this unit.  And I absolutely agree with you!  The Ravens will be (and rightfully so) huge underdogs at home against the Steelers.  But that is to be expected based upon how poorly they have played for over a month now.

When you say you'd take x-player over Flacco, is it to play in our system, or are they bringin' their playbooks with them?

Rodgers' insane ability to throw on the run is the reason I think he is the only person in the league who would play better than Flacco does in this system and with this cast.

Yea it's weird to try and compare between systems but Rodgers and Brady are only two I'd take no matter what in any system is why I was meaning

For one season or to take over as the franchise QB?

If it's one season I'll take these QBs:

1. Brady

2. Rodgers

If it's as a franchise QB I'll take these guys:

1. Luck

2. Wentz

3. Carr

That's 5 but under different circumstances.

Flacco plays like a man possessed during the postseason, and it frustrates the help out of fans since he can't consistently do it.  But honestly yeah. Tom has a better scheme, better weapons, better oline and flacco has outdueled him each time they've played each other in the postseason with less.

You tell me:

I like this too:

http://www.wsj.com/articles/joe-flacco-is-the-king-of-the-nfl-playoffs-1420414837

And how about this little nugget so the stat guys who don't watch football can understand:

Quarterbacks with multiple playoff appearances since 2010

Joe Flacco: 168-282, 2,271 yards, 20 TD, 2 INT
Postseason rating: 105.9
Regular season rating: 84.8
Differential: +21.1
W/L: 8-3

Flacco may not have as many rings, but at least Flacco earned the one he got. Elite Brady can thank Vinateri and defense for nearly all of his.

That we've seen for almost a decade on this board...... Man its played out already.

Wanna know the two variables that haven't changed in all the years of these excuses.

Joe Flacco and John Harbaugh.

This.

Even the supporters are starting to fall off.

The excuses have been old.

Every year its the Line, OC, Running game or lack of weapons.

Flacco is just a basic QB that we can win and lose without.  It wouldn't be that hard to replace his production

Luck makes bad decisions. Carr can play in the AFC so that's cool. Wentz is unproven.

I think about a half dozen or more franchises completely disagree with this assessment. They've been trying it for decades.

These posts always give me a chuckle. They make all these blanket statements like "production isn't hard to replace", yet they never mention the HOW part.

Why? Because its hard. Fans hate hard. It makes them cry. They have a deep rooted fear in things like problem solving.

The only thing I would change about Flacco is his tendency to check down too much. Although some of that may have been due to Trestmans playcalling. Other than that you guys do remember we have a superbowl MVP at QB right?

Back to the question.

1. Rodgers

2. Carr (based on age)

3. Big Ben (sadly)

4. Russell Wilson

5. Cam (realistically he is a better qb but I hate his look at me persona and he shrinks when things arent going his way.)

Notable QBs Missing:

Brady (I hate Brady, therefor I would never want him on this team).

Brees (too old)

Palmer (old)

Dalton (cant win a playoff game)
