I wish I could upvote this into oblivion. This fan base truly pisses me off.

I'll say this, I disagree with you a bit; not a whole lot, but sometimes. At least when I disagree with you, it's things that are based on reality. Things we can argue about and respond to each other with...facts, logic. Guys like you-know-who are all too common.

This fan base lacks all those logic things you talk about. It pisses me off to no end.

Ive been around since the Boller days. Flacco is good enough to win a big one. He's not the issue. I'm a ravens fan in bronco territory. I come on here to have intelligent football discussion or learn something as @The Raven has taught me about stuff. Not this overly pessimistic crap we get from certain members win or loss.

jacket is right. These entitled fans deserve nothing

Anybody that puts Dalton on a list like this literally doesn't understand football.

I'd officially challenge IQ overall at this point.

I'm factoring in contracts. Give me Dalton at $13M over Flacco at $22M any day of the week.

1. Well he won you a Lombardi (even though I'm not sure you deserved it) in 2012 without any of the things you listed, so again that seems like a silly statement.

2. He's been criticized for it often. Whether you knew that or chose to ignore it entirely up to you, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

3. Sure he is. The guy who always plays worse in the playoffs. Yes, that's exactly what NFL teams are looking for in QB (rolls eyes).

4. Nope, I'm a realist. I see what other teams have at QB, and specifically, what they don't have. I see there's at least a half dozen franchises that have spent over a decade looking for a QB that is as good as Flacco, regardless of what you think about him. And I know that if he were a FA tomorrow, there would be a about 10 teams in the league that would gladly pay him as much or more than what we pay him now.

Because I spend time looking at what other teams do. I don't just go look at the box scores and fantasy stats of other players and say "well gee golly they are better".

To be honest, I'm looking forward to the post-Flacco struggle. Its a ways off, but those first few years where we are putting a QB out there far worse than Flacco (and we will)... I'm really looking forward to it. I'll have my popcorn ready every week, and just sit back and laugh at the boards.

I'll say this confidently... there's a large number of "fans" who post on this board that definitely deserve like a decade long drought of just really bad teams. Like you guys have legitimately earned the right to have that. I'm talking like Bills/Browns level teams for at least 10 years.

Maybe that'll whip some of you guys into shape, or if nothing else, it will weed out the "pretenders". And this board is full of a lot of "pretenders".

This pretty much sums it up.

Y'know, the one thing I had hoped for this year is that after finally seeing what this team was without Flacco last year, this kind of stuff would go away.  Two offensive line starters go out for Green Bay and Aaron Rodgers, arguably the most talented QB in the history of the NFL, puts up a Stoney Case stat line and everyone's murmuring about what's going wrong in Green Bay.

With THIS offensive line that we had today?  You expect what?  You think Derek Carr would come in here and go 24-for-32, 296 and 3 TDs?  Whatever you're drinking, pass it over here.

Fans in general do not have a grasp on how the game of football works, particularly at the professional level.  They watch too much ESPN, where everything is broken down to a single player having some impact on the game exponentially beyond reality.  So I say, if we're doing this, why just stop at Flacco?  While we're at it, let's also sign Joe Thomas, A.J. Green, Antonio Brown, David Johnson, J.J. Watt, Khalil Mack, et al.

And then we can come back to reality and realize that with some rookie, unproven, or strictly-system QB behind this line, we're not 3-2 but 1-4 or 0-5.  There are problems to be angry about right now, but if you think it's Flacco, I just... I don't understand what you're watching between 1-4 on Sunday afternoons.

Flacco is workable but not with this contract. his contract is a killer..

he cant run out the pocket and extend plays..you need that in the NFL these days.. hes a statue QB..makes us even easier to deal with

Did you not see him run and get the first down today? He doesn't run often but  he usually  average 30+ rushing attempts per year.

1. Dak Prescott - No way

2. Derek Carr - Maybe

3. Josh McClown - Seriously?

4.Carson Wentz - not a chance

5.The Big Ben - Or course, but I'm a Steeler fan

Honorable Mention: Jim Harbaugh

Joe will always have a place in my heart but to be real...the guy never improves.

Do you guys look around at the league at Quarterback play? Joe may not be great, but he has accomplished a heck of a lot more than most QBs who started for NFL teams today.

No, you can tell the people that have virtually no accountability in their own lives and try to bark out demands like they own the place.

And you can definitely tell the people who don't watch any other games outside of the Ravens games, and the fullest extent of their knowledge of other teams is in the box scores and ignorant radio call in listeners.

Agree with what you're saying for the most part. There's the fan who is always negative like Sami. The fan who spins a positive twist on just about everything, as yourself. And then there's those in the middle I guess. I'm a big Flacco fan. Always defended him and always will. But players like Shareece I get stressed out watching every week. Those are the players I'm quick to want replaced. Forsett had not business on the field. Young should be in over Wright. Webb spent too long as a starting corner. The list goes on. Those are my gripes.

I'd rather pay $9M more for a guy who can actually outplay All-Pro QBs in the playoffs, instead of folding like a lawn chair.

That's chump change in the grand scheme of things for that.

Plus, I don't really think you are considering contracts, because if you were, Ryan and Stafford wouldn't make that list either. I think you're selectively considering contracts to try to piece together a narrative that you already know you can't sell that anybody.

Joe is Average Joe.

Personally I would prefer more fire during the game.I think the rest of the team lack a killer instinct as a result.

I was all aboard when Flacco had the best playoff and Superbowl run ever. But in all honesty he is not top 10 in the league, He really needs a good team around him. That just isn't present on this team. Inability to keep good players past their rookie contract is really showing at this point.

Key stat: Flacco threw just one deep touchdown all of last season (20+ air yards), tied for fewest in the NFL.

Ill make it easy.  Throw out

Rogers, Ben, Russell, Brees, Cam, Rivers.   Then lets starts.

Actually go lower than that and throw out another 5 QBs

Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Carson Wentz, Andrew Luck, Matt Ryan

Then lets start from here....

Matthew Stafford? Trevor Siemien? Carson Palmer? Jameis Winston? Teddy Bridgewater?

Or even go even further down??....uh oh

Marcus Mariota, Sam Bradford, Cody Kessler? Eli Manning?...Alex Smith..............?

Oh no...how about even lower?  Is this on par with what flacco is doing now?

Kirk Cousins, Blake Bortles, ....................Ryan...Tannenhill?....Jay....Culer...? ..Cody Kessler?

I could care less about the "negative fans". Fans can be negative all they want. The problem is when they're negative AND unintelligent. When they throw out blanket statements about other players on other teams when they clearly have no vague clue as to what even the perception is of other players or what their skills and weaknesses are.

I learned long ago to laugh off the "Joe is overpaid" birthers, mostly because those are the kind of people who think Joe is worth like $10M a year, when even mid-tier, game manager type QBs go for $15-20M. They don't even attempt to set realistic values... they just conjure fallacies out of thin air, and it makes them look weak as fans.

He was the first to get that kind of money, so it shocked everyone and they can't get over it. All my non Ravens fan friends  bring it up every chance they get. He's clearly paid appropriately in today's league for what he provides. If Dalton were in purple, everyone would say he was overpaid as well.

Flacco is better than Tannehill, Cutler, Kessler, Similar to Cousins, Bortles, E. Manning...

Stafford and Winston are better currently

Ryan has the Offense around him we would love to see around Flacco....I'd like to think Flacco could match Ryan with that offense.

What is funny is, if we signed pretty much any of these guys listed, we would have to pay them what Flacco is currently making if not more, and many of you would get your undies in a bunch over that all over again, no none of this really matters now does it ?

They do teach that in college, don't they?

Yes but they only teach it to receivers that are good.
