Merged: QBs you'd rather have than Flacco

He isn't a game changer, just a "game manager"? Managing a game is the biggest aspect of playing QB at a high level.

If you think he isn't a game changer...let me ask you --

Remember back in the Billick era when we had some of the best defenses in the history of the league? Of course you do, you wouldn't be much of a fan if not. Do you also remember missing the playoffs every other year despite those defenses, and having Jamal Lewis beasting it up? I sure do.

Now, it's no secret that our defenses have been nowhere near as good in the Harbaugh era. Yet save for 2013 and last year, we have been in the playoffs every single year. So if our defenses suck in comparison, but now we have Flacco and have never ever been as successful as we have been since he came aboard...why is that?

I do NOT mean this in an insulting way, so do not take it as such --

This is the problem with you guys who don't like Flacco. You are incapable of thinking things through. It is not exactly a secret that the more any QB throws, the more likely that team is going to lose. Note that I'm talking about once a QB exceeds 40+ attempts per game, the more they throw, the worse it is for the team's chances of winning. There's several reasons for that, and we'll get into that if need be.

Don't believe me?

Since 2008, Flacco's record in games where he threw 40+ pass attempts:

10 - 22

Pretty horrible right? That proves your point?

How about Aaron Rodgers, in the same time span with 40+ pass attempts?

9-19

So....tell me again, if he was good, I wouldn't say that...

I mean I get it, you hate him, you want him gone, etc etc etc. But at least give REAL reasons, and accept it when you are proven wrong over and over again.

He missed some time last year with his injury and all, to be honest i didn't even notice a drop off at the position.

Can't help but notice that you are still avoiding reality. Carry on though! This is amusing; you dodge facts like Andy Reid dodges salad bars :D

Really? Missed the playoffs since the Super bowl? Do You even fact check yourself on common team knowledge? Apparently not.

Did we make the playoffs last year... no... so to answer the question since the superbowl we have missed the playoffs and Flacco has regressed.

So lady year is the only year the ravens played football after the Super Bowl? Got it, Thanks for clearing this up for. I will anticipate each of your post so I can clearly learn about things that are false.

That's not "truth". That's an opinion, shared by the vast minority of people.

Oh really? Vast minority of people? Very clever. So I assume you belong to the infinitesimal majority that believe Flacco has surpassed all expectations and played brilliantly?

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. Yes

And note the key word you used there, in bold -- I believe Flacco has played very, very well overall throughout his career. What does the word 'believe' imply? An opinion. no? So it wasn't "very clever" of me, it was pointing out the obvious, which obviously escaped you. Making a long rant about how crappy you believe he is does not make it "truth". See how that works? You're welcome.

And btw, I had to break this one out on one of your fellow Flacco trolls earlier this week, let's see what YOU think...does this look like an underachiever to you? How's this for surpassing expectations and playing brilliantly (your words):

NFL records

Ravens franchise records

  • Most career passing yards – 25,531
  • Most career pass completions – 2,213
  • Most career passing touchdowns – 148
  • Most regular-season wins – 72
  • Most postseason wins – 10
  • Most consecutive pass completions: 21 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars on September 25, 2016 [58]
  • Most passing yards in a playoff game (331 in 2013 vs Denver Broncos)[57]
  • Most 300+ passing-yard games in career by a starting QB – 16[57]
  • Highest completion percentage in a single season – 63.1% (2009) (in 16 starts)[57]
  • Highest career quarterback rating – 84.8[57]
  • Highest single-season quarterback rating — 93.6 (2010)[57]
  • Most times sacked in a career for a starting QB – 241[57]
  • Fewest interceptions in a regular season by starting QB — 10 (2012) (16 starts)[57]
  • Most career fourth-quarter comeback wins – 14[57]
  • Most career game-winning drives – 21[57]
  • Most game-winning drives in a single season – 4 (2010) (tied with Elvis Grbac)[57]

Now that I think about it, I take it back...that was very clever, thanks for noticing!     :flamethrower::troll:

Highest paid player in Ravens history? That's kinda taking things out of context, don't you think?

I think it's fair to say that playing very well as an NFL QB qualifies you to receive the market rate contract for being a "franchise QB", especially considering you were on a team that has just won a SB. Correct? Who was the last Ravens QB that was deserving of a "franchise QB" deal? Right, there never was  another. If there had been one 10 to 20 years ago, would the market rate for that player have been less?

For me, what makes all of this most impressive is that these things have been accomplished without having top notch WRs and TEs to throw to. Sure, we had Mase, Q and Pitta for short stints, but what could be accomplished if the Ravens had a guy(s) like Moss, Green, Brown, Nelson, OBJ, Gronk, etc. for extended periods of time?

I think the best is yet to come.

this season has to play out but if we don't do well I could see trading flacco to rebuild hes definitely on the downside of the hill now and we could use some high draft pics

Yep. Missed Todd. Even though he was on the back side of his career he was still sure handed. Shame he didn't get to play with an experienced Joe.  Flacco and Heap long term would have been deadly.

very well seems pretty low expectations for the guy that is supposed to be the face of the franchise.

you must have some pretty low expectations for everyone else as well i hope.

Nope, not really. Guess it depends on how you look at performance and what your rating curve is.

Is there anyone on the team that you think is playing better than "very well"?

He has surpassed expectations.  No one saw him accomplishing what he has when he was drafted.
