Percey Harvin?

Looks like we going to draft a WR, CB, or OL. Crabtree is out of the question, unless we trade up (not gonna happen). Harvin looks pretty good for us.

I dont think we need/want that type of player right now. And I think hes out of our range. Remember one thing about possibly trading up, it costs money, and were not going to have too much cap room.

he is a wr/rb combo from florida... would be a steal from where we are drafting. doubt he would make it to us

I live in fla, and in Gator country, you might say. Harvin is not cocky, he is a gamer. They didn't think he would even be able to play in the BCS championship with a bum ankle, but he played, and had one heck of a game too. I personally would love to see him in the black and purple.

As far as first round receivers go, its highly unlikely Crabtree will make it past the top 5-10 and Maclin probably will also go before we get to the podium. If we were to go WR in the first round (not saying I think we should). I'd go Hakeem Nicks over DHB or Harvin. I'd rather get Tyson Jackson, DE from LSU or a good CB. We can attack wideouts later in the draft, like Ramses Barden who is a physical BEAST. Plus we still have a bunch of WRs that we haven't seen anything from yet.

... this should be in the draft forum, theres alot of good talk over there

WR/CB is a need but by the time we select CB potential will have dropped and WRs will be limited. If Harvin is the only option left at WR then I think Ozzie goes back to the best player available strategy and takes a DE/OT/ LB(depending which LB is on the board)

But I still think Ozzie is going to trade up and make a play on a top 10-15 player. Jenkins/Maclin/Vontae Davis/Crabtree(depending on how far he falls)

In the first round? he better be able to kick from the other 20 yard line to get him that early!! Stover is getting old but we got the kid behind him (Hauska) and Im sure we'll probably bring in another kicker for TC to compete, probably won't draft one though

Haha I know guys...

I wasnt serious. Ozzie is way to smart to even THINK about drafting a kicker in the first 5 rounds. I say we go WR though.

dude, Hauschka is solid...But I cant figure out why he was banging em through the end zone against the Jags, but could barely break the goal line in TN. Did you see Bironas put it THROUGH THE UPRIGHTS on a kickoff?

I never really put much thought into us trading up, but I feel that this is the year we NEEEEED to take care of our secondary and get that physical CB we've been missing the last two years w/o CMac. We need a CB that can basically play on a island with our aggressive front. So to be able to do that we would need to move up, with I totally support - if we can afford it.

yeah, but he seemed to have similarly short kicks in the same direction Bironas banged it through the uprights...wierd.

I'm not sure how you've quite determined that as we've only seen him in extremely limited action.

He has a big leg, sure, but we need to see more kicks from him. Regarding kickoffs, he was kicking into the wind against Tennessee.

Who exactly would we trade to move into the top ten,? Also, what ever makes you think Ozzie would trade up?

It's just my opinion, but trading up to the top ten is a ridiculous idea. I mean, I'm not sure who he wants to dish to get a pick up there, but Davis is the only one who probably drops past 10-12... More realistic options are Heyward-Bey or Harvin.

we should trade up with SF by using Suggs and a 5th to get there 1st and 3rd
We can then pick either Jenkins (who i think falls to 10 as Cle will take LB and JAX will tek OT) or Vontae Davis

I mean DJ moore is also a great corner and will probably be there when we pic from 27-32, some say hes the best cover corenr in the draft

but id love to trade up to get Jenkins or Davis or Crabtree or Oher

And dont bash me about suggs because when we lose rex to the JEts Suggs has lost his hybris role as no one can run a hybrid as good as rex so well probably go 3-4 or 4-3 and i dont wanna pay suggs 70 mil to play OLB in the 3-4 or 70 mil to play De in the 4-3 as he doesnt have the moves so trading him to SF makes sense cause they all wann draft Evertte Brown so why not give them a player whose 3 years older and way better
