Is Harbaugh on the Hot Seat Yet

1,243 posts in this topic

I give him a pass this game. With all those injuries nobody was expecting the team to even be competitive, and he absolutely had those guys playing over their heads. I truly believe that if Jimmy and (shockingly) Wright stay in that game Ravens win 10/10. Davis and Young aren't perimeter corners and I can all but guarantee OBJ is haven't the same game vs actual corners.

Nobody can complain about the turnover on downs on the 1. Have to take that chance then. With hindsight it's frustrating, but I don't know any coaches who are taking a FG there while down by 4.

He's made very questionable decisions in the last 3 games. Before today's game I felt like Harbaugh was teflon until the end of NEXT season, regardless of what happens this season. But I realized today that every decision Harbaugh makes from here on out will be put under a microscope, and every mistake he makes will be magnified. If we have another losing season, he could very well be gone imo.

I never thought Harbaugh was in trouble of losing his job until this third straight loss.

I think he is very much on the hot seat right now. I would be updating that resume if I was him.

We were playing with one starter on the offensive line. If he wasn't on the hot seat heading into this game, he still isn't. He's gotta stop giving up points though until the offense proves it can make those crucial yards.

I feel like harbs just has confidence in his squad but because of a lack of TALENT they don't execute. It's just the truth. If we convert that TD, suddenly he's back in the good graces of everybody. Since everybody wants harbs gone, who do we bring in?

To me it look like West was being too patient and could have made a cut,  I was wondering what he was waiting on.  And I don't want harbs gone

If the question is actually "Do I as a fan want Harbaugh gone?" The answer is a resounding NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. It's so hard to find a decent coach, I'm not about wasting 2 years on some proven bum like Josh McDaniels or Wade Phillips.

I agree. But west was a boss all game. And he's more of a north south runner anyways. Harbs has overrated the talent we have. Simple as that. We aren't these high powered teams that should be taking chances like that. We play solid defense and need to take every point we can. It's just where we are right now.

There's a difference between being upset with the decision and upset with the result and having hidsight. West was having a good game and you need to count on him to make that play. I'll call a dumb decision when I see one (in fact, I have) but using hindsight isn't intelligent or helpful.

Dumb decisions

Not taking points

Clock Management

Poor challenge record

Down and Distance awareness

High Penalty Count

Inability to evaluate talent

The "Doghouse"

Getting rid of or having a problem with "alpha male" players

Poor coaching choices-firing 2 OC's in 4 years

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't we have five consecutive losses when we won the Super Bowl?

If that is the case do you REALLY believe we would have won the Super Bowl if we had fired Harbaugh after loss number three that season?

This is a non issue at this point in time.

5 consecutive losses, is not a recipe for success.....it shone the light inward at what was going wrong...   I dont believe Harbaugh thinks he is wrong by being "aggressive"

I believe his seat should be getting a little warm, how the rest of this season plays out will give us a good indication if the Ravens need to move on.

It also looks like another year of injury excuses and the team still doesn't have good depth at key positions. Some folks in the front office seats need to get a little warm as well.

That was an abysmal call. That was a very long yard and your OL was absolute patchwork.

That was a great call.  See what i did there....

All of these.............seems to have a very low football IQ.

The thing with the injuries is..........the Ravens have done a horrible job of scouting talented players. There are plenty of teams who have decent backups. Our backups consistently remind us why they are backups. They are just terrible. I get it when your best CB goes out but immediately give up yards in bunches is ridiculous...starter or not you are supposed to be a professional athlete who can compete. Just terrible.

Yea, backups are backups for a reason...they arent as good as starters.  If Jimmy doesnt go down i think we win that game

Actually don't think they should have went for it either. We were getting nowhere and even the ravens knew it hence the toss.

In that situation just go for the FG.

I actually think a joe rollout with a juice pass on firstdown would have work but Alwell.

Yea,  I didn't like the play call but I still would of preferred to go for it.  But either way I assumed they would get a late score to win... Just like they did. Just different opinions

Guarantee you if we took the feild goal and still lost fans would've thrown a fit about not going for it there. Damned if he does and damned if he don't. The play calling was what I would question. Just punch the ball upmthe middle with west. And what was that sneak with flacco? He didn't even try to extend the ball over the goal line.

How is this a non issue. This was supposed to be the easy part of the schedule. When you have a team that cannot score points you NEVER take points off of the board and he has cost us 2 games this year doing just that. Yeah, he deserves the hot seat and a tight tight leash or he walks; If he does not stop with those foolish calls and we are out of the play offs i would drop him and bring in next years new coach early..

Fans have been screaming for more TDs and less FGs for years.  When they try and fail, they get roasted for trying.  It's what we do. ;)
