The ugly is the fan reactions to players.

Perriman makes a pretty difficult catch, but fails to get a second foot inbounds (barely out) and fans go nuts and love the hell out of him, until it gets overturned and everyone hates on him.

Might because he dropped an easy TD earlier...

We didn't lose the game because of Perriman. He dropped those passes but he's not alone in blundering. Trestman lost his job because of the game.

I'm not hating on him, but it was a simple toe tap that any pro WR should do every time they are falling out of bounds. He has skills, but is still making the stupid mistakes.

It was actually his second foot that he got down and not the first. Had he just brought his first foot down immediately it would've been an easy TD. Just makes me sick to be that close. This ain't college buddy. He has to know the sideline is right there and just go limp with his legs.  Its his first year so I'm not gonna hate on him tho, and I feel really bad that he goes from hero to goat in a matter of minutes. He really needed that one for his confidence. And we really needed it as a team. Luckily the bengals are playing pretty poorly too, but These two games are gonna come back to haunt us. The raiders will get the one spot- not worried about the Afc south... So really all we gotta worry about is the jets and bengals whom we obviously play 3 times. Win all 3 and we just might sneak in- but I'm not even gonna think about that right now until something is done about this play calling.

We get it. You hate him. You don't have to preach it in every damn thread but the fact that you always bring it up and go "this proves I'm right" shows why no one takes you seriously. It's his fifth career game where he's made a few spectacular plays when he's had no training camps and two preseason games. I'm honestly surprised he's doing this good. He makes plays a #1 should make, plays Torrey Smith would have never made here. A lot of fans aren't expecting too much of him and are happy he's getting on the field in the first place.

Honestly it's embarrassing for all parties involved.

Yeah, which I kind of expected with him.  I still think he's more of a slot type of guy, but still played well considering.  I wouldn't run him as an outside CB full time, but it's nice to know we have that flexibility if we need it.  Overall though, I thought it was a good performance by him, even with those lucky breaks.

I thought the entire secondary played really well.

I'm not the least bit disappointed in this defense outside of the pass rush.

Even without the play, people were going to roast him.

If the pass rush could pick it up, this could be one seriously good defense.  I think having Weddle and Webb on the backend is the difference for the secondary this year.  Communication seems to be on point.  Weddle's playing well and Webb has actually been solid for us back there.  I'll take solid considering the atrocities we've seen at S recently.

Not every single pro wide receiver does it, especially not rookies.

Remember that in college, one foot inbounds counts as a catch. It takes time to go from focusing on the catch and bracing for the hit to focusing on toe tapping

Doubt it. He could've dragged his feet but at least he caught it. Him dropping the ball and disappearing for most of the game, as he's done all season, is why people are mad at him.

bottom line, Perriman has Ted Ginn hands at this point. No excuses.

I'm sure a big reason Moore was inactive yesterday is because he keeps dropping passes .

If we keep benching receivers that drop passes you may soon have to suit up.   lol

Sorry, but he's two years removed from college and I'm sure it's a fundamental stressed to EVERY NFL WR. He had time and space o'plenty to get the foot down.

Again, I'm not hating on him and realize he is new, but dag, his mistakes are costing us big time. With Smitty's status up in the air we will be looking to Breshad to carry a much larger load. He needs to step up and justify the faith we have put in him.

Has he had an NFL training camp yet? No. This may be stressed, but until you're putting large amounts of practice into it, there's going to be growing pains. He's had two preseason games and five pro games. People seem to forget he's literally got seven games and zero training camps.

His mistakes were far from the only issue.

lol....no not at all. But it's not debatable and fact that If he doesn't make the last one the Ravens are 4-1.

Sure, the Ravens probably are 4-1, but the Ravens shouldn't be in a position to have a rookie win it in the final 30 seconds at home.

He needs to come down with those receptions, but looking forward, I am at least glad to know that the opportunities were there and that the wounds were rather self-inflicted. The deep drop earlier on went right between the hands, and it should've been an easy catch on what was and on point throw. But I'm personally not upset about the second one within the context of the circumstances. You're playing in your fifth game in the pros, you've missed the majority of both offseasons due to significant injuries, you're played on just 39% of the snaps, you're asked to beat an All-Pro caliber CB on a difficult grab in double coverage for the game-winner, and you come within literal inches of making it happen while coming down with the ball. I get the frustration for the easy drops. He's mixed in one with a difficult catch seemingly each week. I am, however, intrigued by the expectations of production, especially since we've shuffled every receiver not named Smith or Wallace like a deck of cards.

And Terrance West should've been featured, allowed to get in a groove. He's looking like a legitimate talent. He flashed it last season and he's making good on it this year.

This exactly.  People are acting like that's an easy catch.  Of course you want to see him come down with it, but it's not like he just made an egregious error and just didn't get the foot down.  It was a tough play.

So if he shouldn't be expected to make plays, why should he be on the field?

Great/good teams win close games every Sunday whether at home or away.  Comfortable wins in the NFL are the exception anymore. Players have to make plays to win those games, and whether their team should or shouldn't be in that position is irrelevant.

It would have to be internal - likely Morninwheg - since he's the only other guy with experience calling plays in the NFL.

Good call

Football, like all sports is a head game.  When there is a bad play, the team has to forget it and move on to reverse the negative mindset. CJ trying to break the plane and get the td, Perriman dropping that fingertip pass and, the fake field goal were big errors.

Get over these and just score points.

Not to be nit picking, but what happened on the skins lone offensive TD? Didn't look like anyone was within 10 yards of the receiver.

Jimmy got caught peaking into the backfield.
