Then again, a bird in the hand and all that.  I suspect if we made a real strong offer, Manny would take it.  Would take at least $250 million, though.

It is going to take more than that.

Nice, happy he is able to come back at a price like that. I figured he was lost at the end of the year so this is great to see. Sounds like Trumbo really likes it around here

I am glad to have Trumbo back. We now have the DH position locked down and Camden Yards is such a nice park for Trumbo to crush some homers.

And it was a pretty good deal for the O's too. I'm happy with this.

Remember the Movie " The Bronx is Burning'? George Steinbrenner laid down the law on Billy Martin. If i was the Owner of the O's id tell Buck,, Chris will be the DH,,Trumbo will bat 4th and play 1st base. Chris Dave bats 5th! Just like George told Billy Reggie bats 4th!

Not sure why you'd want to remove the best glove option at first for an atrocious defender.

Because he thinks life is a movie script?

Because he thinks Davis is more likely to get injured in the field like you can't get hurt at the plate either.  I've already chosen to go down this road.  Turn back while you still have time.

Well Trumbo is a bad right fielder. Trumbo can play first base. So why not let Chris Davis DH or play right field?

Maybe because Davis is one of the best 1st basemen in the league?

Alright I'll bite again.  Trumbo is bad defensively in RF and 1B.  Davis is good defensively at 1B.  So, why play Trumbo there, exactly?  Trumbo is your DH.

I know we don't have that kind of money to spend but can you imagine if we still had Cruz in our lineup. We would not have the strongest fielding but our offense would be knocking balls out of the park almost every game we played. We would probably set a record.

We dreaming for the ultimate softball league bashing lineup?

Can there be some speed somewhere? Another nice gap hitter maybe?

You are right. We also need a lead-off hitter that has a high OBP with decent speed. Kansas City won a World Series with a line-up as you describe. Our lineup may get us to the playoffs, but that is where we are likely to be shut down by good pitching. where we can not take advantage of advancing the bases. Our feast or famine lineup does worry me.

Good advice, lol. We will have this same conversation in about a month.

Good point. We really need a legitimate lead off hitter with speed.

Yea.. so many power hitters again and it'll be a repeat of last few years.. lead the league in homers and get embarrassed in the playoffs

If Rickard is healthy, we might have one.

Issue is that he's a platoon guy though.

Agree, we need an everyday player who has speed and can get on base.

Oh, and don't forget you can't play rookies because they make errors. :D

Three or four of those would be great!          :av-102:
