Five Changes Needed Immediately

Five basic changes for Patriot's game:

1. Double slot receivers - quick hit picks - halfback screens

2. Power running straight ahead, especially on passing downs

3. Defensive backs must be so close to the Patriot's receivers, they can smell the receivers breath; the last time the Raven's DBs played in Foxborough they played so far off the Patriot receivers they could not even see the Patriot receivers' jersey numbers!  Giving up a 14 point lead twice!

4. Brady likes to double screens and quick hits; no need for the Ravens' LBs to guard against the run; crash the backfield and knock down anybody with the football

5. Weather will not be a factor; stay mentally focused - keep Steve Smith from getting unnecessary penalties; Tucker could pull this game out?

Bonus:  The Ravens are definitely on an upward vector and will continue this elevated direction regardless of outcome; no injuries to Joe - meaning no running Joe and NO sliding.  This game is purely about blocking and staying injury free.  Bigger things are in play in a couple of weeks.

Five basic changes for the Eagle's game:

1. Hook and go patterns; lots of space between the hash marks and throw to the end zone.

2. Power running out of the I-formation; cross blocking and pull line for power sweeps.

3. Defensive must attack the football and be predictive of the young Eagles QB; take the football.

4. Eagles like to run; make it unfun by plugging the gaps and stopping the check-down screens and short passes.  This game will open-up with some long passing attempts by the Eagles, but the Ravens’ DBs are ready.

5. This is not a Tucker game, rather it is a touch down game; cross the six point line often and build momentum this for week and going into next week.

Bonus:  The Ravens move forward with a complete game on both sides of the football - it is that simple.

1. Cut down the number of penalties.

IMO two of the defensive holding penalties yesterday were bad calls but the other penalties were stupid ones.

2. Teach Kamar Aiken how to down a sky high coffin corner punt by Sam Koch instead of watching it land in play and bounce into the endzone.

Adam Jones could teach him how to retreat to the "wall" and then turn to find the ball like any great outfielder knows how to do.

3. Teach some of our defenders how to defend themselves against a ball that is thrown right at them.

One of our defenders had a wrapped Xmas gift thrown to him and there was only one Eagle on the side of the field to keep him from a Pick Six. That was pitiful.

4. Force the kickoff returners on other teams to return our KOs by kicking the ball to the goal line.

The new KO rule has practically ruined KO returns in the NFL and destroys the incentive of folks to return KOs. There will never be another Devin Hester again. It would be smarter just to give the opponent possession on the 25 yard line if the NFL is that concerned about injuries.

5. Get some more tough players in here like Steve Smith, Sr. The millennial cupcakes coming into the league now are nowhere tough enough to play like a Raven. BTW, Steve passed Marvin Harrison on the all-time passing yardage list yesterday. Congrats, Steve!

Five changes for the Steelers game:

1. Double and triple team to seal the defensive end for power sweeps, once our RBs get past the line, they can beat the LBs for 10+ yards. Steelers' DBs will be too far away from the runner while chasing Wallace and other receivers down field.  Smart "setup the run plays" are in order.

2. Hard count; repeat hard count.  This is on you Joe – the Steelers are anxious; they will make mistakes.

3. Ravens’ Offensive Coordinator (OC): call four-play sets.  Let Joe decide to go left, center, or right or in the flats; a no-huddle offense is a perfect way to wear down the Steelers’ linemen.

4. OC – please identify the green grass areas where the Steelers are NOT playing and drag the tight-end to that area.  Attack the defense with the pass and complement the pass with power sweep runs.

5. Roll Joe out or keep an extra blocking back in the backfield; Steelers will bring the heat.  Safety value receiver must run towards Joe for the football or Joe just throws it out of bounds.  No running Joe.  This is OUR first “Playoff” game - we are hungry; make no mistake about it.

Bonus: Keep the penalties to the minimum and beat the Steelers to the football every play; the results will be all purple.   Execute every play like there is no tomorrow!

The penalties are just ridiculous and reducing or stopping them should be at the top of any list unless its running the ball more 1st

Five changes for the Cincinnati game:

1. Retire all of the Ravens' DBs

2. Retire the Ravens' defensive coordinator

3. Hire an endurance coach to improve defensive and offensive linemen

4. Hire data analysts to run analytics to improve offensive play calling and defensive sets

5. Play all of the reserve players to assist in draft selections, which should be exclusively DBs, but defensive and offensive linemen are needed as well

Bonus: The Ravens had a fine season; they lost a few games they should have won and lost most the games they should have lost.  All in all, the players and fans are proud of the season.  Next year there will be significant changes in staff and defensive backs.  Expect to see the Ravens win more games.  Happy and healthy New Year wishes.

Five changes for the Cincinnati game:

1. Joe calls all the plays (at least for the first half)

2. Second half bring in backup QBs for real time play

3. Try a double reverse flea flicker or something fun like a halfback pass

4. Move the DBs into man-to-man, “Beat me if you can,” tight alignment on the receivers

5. Go for all field goal opportunities 67 yards or closer

Bonus: The Ravens are a proud organization: be generous with the footballs and give them to fans in the stadium as often as possible.  Come home first class purple!

Get rid of ALL the "Old Farts" , I would rather watch first year players, that play with passion and act like they want to be NFL players.

This lethargic team we have currently makes me depressed, I watch this team make the same dumb mistakes week after week all season. Only means two things , you are not that good to begin with or your coaching staff sucks. Which is it?

I say blow it up, bring some young coaching staff in here , even if they have to learn on the job its better then this crap.

This quote after the game is classic

“We got to address some issues,” outside linebacker Terrell Suggsicon-article-link.gif said. “We got to be honest with ourselves and we got to address those issues if we want a chance at success, if we don’t want to be on the outside looking in.”

Start by announcing your own retirement, No place for old, slow, one arm pass rushers in this league.

If we are able to draft a good OLB this year then we he can become a good 3rd-down pass rusher for us.

Flacco needs to take a pay cut. There's no way he or anyone can justify his cap hit being 10 million MORE than Tom Brady's in 2017. Free up some money so your team can help get you a better O Lineman and receiver.

Tom Brady is a bad comparison for contracts, he's always taken a lot less to help the Pats and he can afford to do so since he's married to the highest paid fashion model in world history.

Also, the way his contract is structured, he will actually make WAY more than Flacco.

Offensive needs:

1. Run blocking Center! Most runs by far went away from the center probably for a reason. The team is 30th in run attempts per game and 28th in totals rushing yds.
2. Future QB! Accept it or not, 20 TD to 16 ints is not acceptable regardless of reason, especially while leading the league in passing attempts. Besides, it's likely to take a few seasons to find that quality replacement.
3. G: A top level LG guard and/or RT (if Wagner leaves)to help re-establish a respectable run game (assuming Yanda goes back to his usual spot on the right).
Defense:

4. Edge rusher/run container! (Do I need to explain?)
5. CB capable of pressing from the line.

This is much better than saying he needs to go which make little sense.

I think we need a better strong safety and free safety.  Eric weddle is above average but with all his assisted tackles and not enough solo tackles makes me wonder if his best years are behind him.  Ladarius Webb is a better tackler than Weddle but Weddle is better at picking the ball off.  Maybe their roles need to be reversed. I truly dont like either of them manning the back end.  I need some pop at safety.

Eric Weddle was graded as one of the Best Safeties in the game last year... he's not going anywhere. Weddle is a playmaking safety. He's not Bernard Pollard or James Ihedigbo. With that being said, and with Webb almost certain to be a cap casualty, maybe they get a thumper to complement Weddle.

To piggyback your point, he was graded as the best safety in the league last year regardless of position. He might be listed as a strong safety, but as you mentioned, he wasn't used traditionally, often sitting back in the robber role or playing single-high. As a defense, we had the lowest missed tackles through most of the year, and we were one of the best swarming run defenses in the league for the majority of the season, so of course Weddle's tackles were assisted on a high percentage. The number that should be taken into account is that Weddle had just 2 missed tackles through 13 weeks, which was the lowest total among all safeties in the NFL. Judging his performance off of his assist totals is incredibly shallow. With regards to Webb, I do wonder whether his finish will make the decision more difficult. He reportedly graded out as a Top 5 safety through the last 9 weeks.

ok then, what about the way he changed the way our secondary played, was an extra coach on the field, came up with more ints this season than the entire secondary did last year?

and you have to be doing something pretty damn right to be labelled the first team all pro strong safety by PFF ahead of the premier names in your first season on a new team...

Yes but I think in Weddle's case the stats just help prove more. Weddle played phenomenal. Got robbed of a pro bowl for sure.

That's more like it. My comment wasn't toward your opinion but it still works.
