2016 Week 5 Other Games Discussion

113 posts in this topic

Week 5 is here and after a year, Deflate Gate is finally over. Brady returns from his 4 game suspension this week and the NFL ratings continue to sink by the week. What will Week 5 have in store for us?

Cardinals @ 49ers: If I were to tell you before the season that the Cardinals and 49ers would have the same record through 4 weeks, you wouldn't believe me right? Well both teams sit 1-3 heading into Thursday. The Cardinals are broke, the 49ers are broke but the Cardinals can do what every other team(except the Rams) has done this season.... Beat Up San Francisco. Or are the Cardinals so broke that they suffer the same fate as the Rams?

Patriots @ Browns: Deflate Gate is finally over, Brady served his four game suspension and we can all move on. The Browns have been competitive but this week, it will end. An angry Tom Brady coming back to prove doubters wrong, a Cleveland team full of bad luck, this won't end well.

Eagles @ Lions: Carson Wentz, let's go ahead and put him in the HOF and give him the Super Bowl MVP, right? The Eagles are only allowing an average of 9 points per game under Jim Schwartz which doesn't bode well for the Lions offense. Lions need a quick turn around similar to last season where they just ran out of time or Caldwell could be gone sooner rather than later.

Bears @ Colts: I actually don't know where to start with this. Colts are bad, Bears are bad, therefore I fully expect some bad football to be played. Both are 1-3 with their head coaches on the hot seat after a 1-3 start. Luck's career is being wasted away and the Bears may win themselves right out of a top QB in next year's draft.

Titans @ Dolphins: The Dolphins barely beat the Browns in OT, while their defense played well against the Bengals couldn't muster any kind of offense to counter holding the Bengals to 5 field goals after the AJ Green TD. The Titans remain competitve with a 14th ranked defense keeping games close but need to get Marcus Mariota going as they rank 27th in passing yards per game and should get a boost playing the 28th ranked Miami Dolphins defense.

Texans @ Vikings: So far the Sam Bradford trade has the teams involved a combined 7-0, could be 9-0 after this week. The Texans managed to win against the Titans but by a TD. Bench DeAndre Hopkins ASAP, the Vikings in the past two weeks have shut down Kelvin Benjamin and OBJ, Hopkins is next on the list for the Vikings D. How much longer can the Vikings go undefeated?

Jets @ Steelers: Chiefs beat the Jets, Steelers shutout the Chiefs, so Jets beat the Steelers this week? The way this season has been, I wouldn't be shocked to see it happen but the Steelers should continue their bounce back from their shutout loss to the Eagles.

Falcons @ Broncos: This might be the most interesting game this week from a offense vs defense perspective. The Falcons offense has been unstoppable. Matt Ryan to Julio Jones is a guarantee win for anyone who has them in fantasy. Then you have the Denver Broncos defense who continue to get better by the week. Will Atlanta figure out this Broncos defense or will the Broncos defense make Julio Jones fantasy owners unhappy?

Bengals @ Cowboys: The Bengals come off a win against the hapless Dolphins while the Cowboys come off a win against the hapless 49ers. Dak Prescott is another rookie QB playing well but how will he and Elliott fare against the Bengals defense?

Bills @ Rams: The LA Rams under Jeff Fisher has a chance to go 3 games over .500 and improve to 4-1 in a NFC West that is now theirs to lose. The Bills look like a new team since firing Greg Roman and this game is a real toss up as either team can win this and both need the win to solidify themselves in their respective division races.

Chargers @ Raiders: The Raiders are 3-0 on the Road but loss their first home game to the Falcons. Can the Chargers drop the Raiders to 0-2 at home or is Mike McCoy another Head Coach potentially on the chopping block following any loss the remainder of the season? Raiders are behind the Broncos at 3-1 and need this win to solidify themselves in the division race if they want to win the AFC West.

Giants @ Packers: The Packers come off their bye to host the New York Giants on a short week following a tough Monday Night loss to the Vikings. The Packers showed nothing was wrong with them as they trounced the Lions with 4 TDs in the first half. Both teams need this win as the division races in the North & East are heating up one quarter into the season.

Bucs @ Panthers: The defending NFC Champions are in a rut, they are 1-3 following a tough home loss to the Vikings. They along with the Cardinals seem broke, and need to be repaired quick as the Falcons take a slight advantage in the NFC South and can not suffer two straight losses within the division.

You are right JO. Deflategate is finally over and the inflation of Brady's head begins.

Hope the Falcons destroy the Broncos. (We're no longer undefeated, no one else should be) lol

Also want the Boys to help us out with the Bungles.

I don't see the Jets beating that black & yellow team.

The 1-3 Arizona Cardinals will have to look to improve to 2-3 without Carson Palmer. Drew Stanton is slated to get the start against the 49ers on Thursday Night. Which is the worst match up? Case Keenum vs Blaine Gabbert from week one or Drew Stanton vs Blaine Gabbert tomorrow night?

I find it amazing that the Browns are the #1 rushing team in yardage after 4 weeks.

why not, they have mostly top picks on their o-line and they have pro bowl left tackle....

I so wish we'd been able to keep Torrey. He's absolutely wasted on this niners team.

Sad thing is, I believe he signed with them the year ol' Jeddy boy decided to run Jim out of town. At the money they signed him at, we weren't going to pay him that but I wish he went to another team though. Got caught up in the whole York/Harbaugh situation and lost any chance at another Super Bowl. I wish they trade him to a contending team or give him back to us lol.

I don't think the Niners offered him that much more than us.

Bad quarterback play defenitely affecting Torrey. But let's be honest he isn't that good. The fact that he isn't the best receiver on this team says a lot.

I know. There was more to it then just money. He needed a fresh start somewhere else, just wish it was with a contender.

Indeed. He's not a #1. I warned Niners fans of this. I don't think he had a catch tonight.

Cardinals are shooting themselves in the foot with the defensive penalties here late. Giving San Fran some life late.

I wouldn't say the 49ers have an awful lot of life atm - defensive penalties or no.

I'm still trying to figure out where the DPI was, but anyway a phantom penalty gives San Fran a TD and being 10 behind.

I wonder if this will force Chip Kelly's hand to bench Gabbert and start Kaepernick for the remainder of the season.
