Still like Jensen as a backup, but not confident in him as a full-time starter due to his pass blocking deficiencies.

Agreed. If he has to start though, I like him better at center than guard.

Better than last week at LG. Still impressed with his run blocking. He moves so damn well and he just knocks the crap out of defenders. Pass protection wasn't great, but looked better to me.

Agreed. He does a great job getting to the second level in the run game, but I hate seeing him get demolished by a defensive lineman in pass protection every now and then. He's a lot better going forwards than he is going backwards.

I thought Jensen endzone game is off the chart.   He can move for West.  Jensen is worth a rotation.

Believe me I agree. At this point I personally like him more than Lewis at LG. And, if we go away from the 30-70 run pass ratio that Trestman liked, I think it makes sense to start Jensen or Urschel over Lewis. Urschel, too, looked good at LG. I think better than both Lewis and Jensen.

Thoughts on Lewis at LT?

I legit think he looked better there than at LG. If we had an OC that knew how to keep the offense balanced so that pass rushers wouldn't be keyed in to rush every play, he would have been even better off. But yes, I'm impressed with Lewis's play at LT.

I really didn't notice any glaring issues with him in at LT. I'm pretty excited to see what he can do at RT next year considering they likely let Wagner walk.

At this point, I'm not just okay with letting Wagner walk, but I actually advocate it. Alex Lewis will be a beast at RT.

Unless he has a Mike Oher type meltdown.

Mike Oher was such a sad story because he was such a team player. Have to think the constant herky-jerky pulling back and forth and fan bashing took a toll on him. He's settled in pretty well in Carolina.

But as far as Lewis goes, that'll be pretty amazing if the Ravens find their two T's of the future in the same draft class. I'm really impressed with Lewis and hope playing LG doesn't stunt anything for him.

I mean tbh Lewis played better at LT than Yanda did at RT imo.

That's really high praise when you consider Yanda could probably be an All-Pro at RT...

I'm really excited for this kid. Castillo just does wonders when players have the raw talent.

Lewis allowed parts of 8 pressure events at LT and Yanda 0 at RT.  I'll post the times for the Lewis pressures/QH/sack in my article.

Lewis did better than Hurst but we need Ronnie back at LT. Too much pressure getting in while he's out. Jensen did better this game than last so I'll give him that. He may have to play anyway in Wagner is out. I'd be curious to see how Jensen did vs Urschel since they both played.

I think our offensive front will fair better with a more balanced offense.  We need to get our backs some yardage and get back to smashing people in the grill.  Let Joey stretch the field more, and stop being cute trying to "fool" defenses.

Lewis will be at home at either LG or RT.  Not sure I saw great work at LT from him, but I give guys a pass this week due to all the shifting around.  Alex has a ton of potential and will develop under Castillo.  Ton of upside to him.

I think Jensen did improve in this game.  I think a run first attack suits his skill set.  He gets downfield and finishes blocks.  More work on his Pass Pro and he will be just fine.

Jensen now has some competition.  Ducasse was huge for our run game this preseason, so I'm glad to see him back.

Definitely a solid veteran.  Gives some competition for Lewis/Jensen/Urschel.

I think this bodes as an indication that Wagner's or Stanley's injuries are going to cost them more time.

If Stanley is out for a while, I see Lewis there and either Urschel/Jensen at LG

If Wagner is out, Lewis at RT and either Urschel/Jensen at LG

IF both are out, Lewis at LT, Urschel LG, Zuttah C, Jensen RG, Yanda at LT,    Ducasse and Hurst in reserve.....

I don't think Ducasse will see play time in front or Urschel or Jensen at this point.

Totally agree with all of this. The Oher bashing was just ridiculous, considering what we asked him to do.

I'm also impressed with Lewis, he's a kid who's been given a second chance at life, and is playing like he plans to make the most of it.

Here is my grading of the offensive linemen versus the Redskins:

http://russellstreetreport.com/2016/10/12/filmstudy/offensive-line-notes-vs-redskins/

Jensen played well at RG, which gives the Ravens some interesting decisions to make going forward that may affect the entire line.  Zuttah was also played his best game to date.  Yanda had an A before adjustment at both RG and RT.

Unfortunately, Lewis was party to 8 pressure events (5.5 pressures, 1 QH, 1/3 sack), Wagner left hurt after bottoming out on the last 2 plays of the half, and Urschel was unimpressive.

The overall level of pass blocking was just slightly below average (49% ATS vs. 6-year average of 51%), but Flacco threw for 112 yards less than expectation (188 actual vs 300 expected) for his opportunity set.  I offer some explanations as to why, but it's not all Joe.

Marty Mornhinweg has a huge job in front of him, but I believe the first order of business will be to reestablish the play action passing game.

I know this thread is for the Jensen bandwagon, but going off Lewis at LT: He played really well. His skill set is definitely more suited to play T than G. I hope they can look at Wagner long and hard and maybe make a decision to start giving Lewis snaps at RT when Stanley comes back. Stanley and Lewis at the ends of the line has so much potential.

Back to Jensen though, he rebounded well against the Skins, but I'm still not 100% sold on him. I will agree that his Run blocking is great, but his pass protection is rough. With the signing of Ducasse, I'm interested to see what we end up doing at LG with Urschel/Lewis/Jensen/Ducasse and more interested to see if that starts to spill over into Zuttah's spot at C. How many of those guys will even be active on gameday?

Ducasse is interesting because he's the same as Jensen in regards to what he's good and not good at.  He was huge for our run game in the preseason, but his career marks in pass blocking make you want to vomit.  It's not good.

Yeah I've heard about Ducasse in the passing game, and its not good. Still though, what purpose will he serve if he's a clone of Jensen? Does Urschel serve as the pass protection guard? Does having 3 LG's mean Lewis is shifting to T? Of course I assume it's a depth move, but its just odd

I'd guess we'll be seeing more of Yanda at T, potentially.  For as bad as Ducasse has been throughout his career, he was good for us at RG this offseason, where as Urschel is a better fit on the left side.  Might be Ducasse or Jensen at RG if Wagner misses some time.
