I am always saddened by this sort of news, because I'm a little sentimental about players (OK a lot) but I understand the business/competition side of it. I always love when we have a classy player who is able to impart wisdom and lead by example to the younger players. Thank you, Justin, and best wishes to you.

I didn't think it will happen in the middle of the season. i thought he would be released at the end of the season but roster spots played a large roll in the decision I'm guessing. Hoping he does well wherever he goes. He's a class act.

I loved Justin. His personality was a wonderful thing. His Faith kept him honest, and he was always wanting to help others when he could. A very kind and giving individual. Glad he knew what to do. I sincerely hope that he has the ability to be picked up by someone who needs a good back.

They needed room for Waller.

Not really. Maxx Williams was hurt in the last game. Suspect he's put on IR to allow Waller to return.

Best wishes to Justin, I think he has some good football playing in him left, I hope a team recognizes that and he does well wherever he goes. His time here was a great contribution in so many ways.

Could we maybe use the 8 million in space now to acquire, oh I don't know, a left guard that won't get Joe or our RBs landed or IR?

We didn't save money by cutting him. His cap hit and fixed cost is both at 3 million. We basically broke even, so our cap space stays the same.

Just glad he walks away with his salary, he gave it his all, and he never complained...Stand up guy, who stepped in and stepped up when we needed him too.......The writing was on the wall, and i think had Dixon not been hurt he would have probably been cut and not brought back....He should latch on with a team, every week the injury list across the league is worthy of a MASH unit...

Classy move on both sides, classy player, classy organization. Oddly, or not, there is no mention of an official cut yet. Part ways could mean anything, maybe trying for last minute trade with salary discussions. I think he will wind up with some team and do well in the right system.

Good luck Justin and thanks for all you have done for us. If we still had a zbs line system, I bet you would still look sharp.

With my impression is that Ozzie try to hook him up with other team trade so Justin can at least play football and get some additional salary on top of the Ravens' guarantees and 2016 salary.

Both class act from Justin and the Ravens nation....I wish him the best and I believe the Ravens organization and fans will do the same.....

What an awesome dude. Hope he's able to find another team and get the carries he deserves. Thanks for your effort during your time here Justin - glad to have been able to call you a Raven for these past few years.

I could see Denver, Atlanta as good systems for him. Buffalo needs RB help, as does Detroit. Patriots would look for any way they could to hurt us, so wild card chance he gets a look there. Not sure where else at the moment, but someone needs a sure handed pass catching back that can block well, or some team will soon. NFL = 100% injury rate.

This is sad, indeed. But--

Not as sad as the Ray Rice fiasco. And,

If he can land somewhere with a good O-line and a good running scheme, he will be fine.

Once a Raven, always a Raven Justin! Good luck to you. I know you'll land another job soon. I totally understand your decision. It's in your heart to play football and I know you'll get another chance.
Thanks for all your efforts with the team and the city of Baltimore!

On*

Not true. His only cap hit was his base salary $3,000,000. No signing or roster bonuses = no dead money. No dead money = you save what he was earning. Cut him and save $3 million (minus the 4 games you paid him for).

it actually says if he gets picked up, it's just extra money for him....His contract i don't think has the luxury of clauses like that in it, and being paid what many have considered cheap for a PB RB, is probably why it was fully guaranteed if he was on the week one roster...
