Ravens and RB Justin Forsett part ways

Sad to see him go, but it was inevitable following West's performance and the return of Dixon. I wish him well!!

From a Cap perspective, nothing is likely to change. Forsett stays on the Cap at $3M and is entitled to termination pay, meaning he can request payment of the balance of that $3M salary. He has until the end of the season to elect to take it (players can only do so once in their careers). If he for some reason doesn’t, then the Ravens would get credit of 13/17ths of the $3M in 2017. Assuming there isn’t some agreement not to do so (the working of “parting by mutual agreement” is a bit interesting), he will likely make that election. Since the balance of the $3M continued to count this year, there is no carryover for 2017.

Great person but he just didn't fit our offensive line. He's probably still good for the stretch zone but he is too impatient for our current blocking. I'm glad he was here with us as long as he was.

Wish him the best going forward. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up with the Bucs, Giants or another one of the teams w/ some injuries at RB.

This is why my Dad says never to buy a players jersey, what are people going to do with their #29 Forsett jerseys? best of luck Justin Forsett

Eh, a Forsett jersey is probably a jersey I would have stayed away from. Just based on the business and he's known for moving about the league.

He'll be picked up by somebody! What about the Vikes? They have who, McKinnon and Asiata?

He's a prototypical system RB, so he's going to want to find a system that fits for him.

Good luck to Forsett.  Class act and a real pro.   Glad he had the chance to get to probowl and propel us to a playoff.   Wish him luck!

Dixon is already on the roster.

Still TBD who gets Forsett's spot.

What happens if another team signs him? Does it reduce his salary from Baltimore dollar for dollar or does he get to "double dip"?

Darren Waller

That hasn't been stated anywhere.  It makes a lot of sense, but nothing reported on that.

The writing was on the wall after last week's healthy scratch and the fact that West showed more burst than Forsett had this season. With Dixon back and Allen chipping in through the pass game, there is no room for Forsett.

I hope he finds a good spot to land. He seemed like a genuinely good guy and we can't forget that he helped immensely in allowing us to rebound from the loss of Rice and gave us a solid season. He was looking as good as anyone could look on that 2015 team before his injury, so it was reasonable to think he still had enough in the tank, but it didn't work out.

Best of luck, Justin and hope you enjoyed your time as a Raven.

Not stated directly but in order to add him to the roster after suspension they have to move someone else. They have a week to decide so the move is essentially being done early.

If they even want him to move to the roster.  Again, it makes a ton of sense, but this doesn't necessarily mean Waller gets the spot.

Maxx Williams is hurt again and there's also discussion on whether or not they'll sit him. Moving forsett to give a spot to Waller gives time to decide how they want to handle maxx.

The next step, barring injuries, is the decision with taliaferro once he comes off pup.  Thinking an IR decision for max or taliaferro comes at that time.

Again, it makes sense, but this move isn't necessarily for that.  They have a week until they have to make a decision on Waller.  They could opt for some other depth right now and see how Maxx progresses this week before making a decision on Waller.

Not sure #29 was a top seller. I have a deceased Torrey Smith jersey. Learned my lesson. I only want jerseys of guys we draft (or get undrafted straight out of college), who go on to receive that substantial 2nd contract and play at least 1 year into it and look like they are earning it.

Not many qualify, but for right now, IMO the best fit for that description is Tucker. He has the opportunity to become a ring of honor type player for us.

Forgot Tali was on the team, heh. That's freaking interesting, man.

Oh my bad I didn't realize you were just arguing and didn't have a point. My bad for engaging you

My point is that it's not a sure thing that Waller is getting the spot.  That's all.

Most have. Especially with the idea of Dixon coming back. The excitement of that    draws attn away from taliaferro.   As was mentioned early on we seem to have more options at the skill positions this yr than the last few.
