try telling that to people on this board. I'd give carr flaccos money. He's legit ...i trust him to make the plays. just dont have that with flacco. Even last year i was saying from what i saw, carr > flacco ..and flacco was hardly sacked at all last year

I think I saw in Carr's 52 games, he's been sacked like 52 times, so he's really getting excellent protection.

Harbaugh addressed this after the game.  Said he was available in emergency situations but didn't feel he was prepared enough due to him missing the entire week of practice.

Thanks!

LOL Flacco has been disappointing but Carr is nothing special.

Carr has a great offensive line. That's why he is having success. Without that he would be struggling.

If we switched QB's before the game, and kept all coaches and rosters the same otherwise.... I think Flacco would light our defense up. Cleaner pocket. Better player makers. Better playcalling.

okay so below are my takeaways from this gas...

1. Joe Flacco is not elite. i have never seen a qb have such a strong arm but constantly under throw his receivers

2. steve smith is a beast.

3.our defense is a beast. even though they gave up 28 points. the raiders had short field starting position all game exact that last touch down drive.

4. mark trestman needs to be fired asap. his play calling is atrocious. his in game adjustment is atrocious. we only need 5 more yards and you didn't even attempt to run the ball at all that final last drive… What the heck?..

5. wright needs to get fired asap or ill lose my Crap. our back ups are straight trash.

6. all in all if we can fire trestman and get someone thats not freaking stupid. we will be a good team.

7. forsett just lost his job. lol...

8. why the [profanity deleted] is moore even in on the final drive. we should only have receivers with sure hands on that final drive.. that drop from more killed that drive. he catches that and we win...

9. john harbaugh decision to not decline that 3rd down call was crucial.

10. ravens all day….. love my team but joe needs to play better if he wants to be elite

56%. So basically a better chance that he makes it than not. So, you accept the penalty...why, exactly? In a close game that sort of risk is completely unnecessary, as was not taking the PAT in the 3rd. Bad coaching.

1. It significantly decreases the chances of him making the kick

2. It forces the Raiders to run another offensive play. Based on how the game was going, there's numerous things that could go our way. A sack or negative play forces them out of FG range entirely, so you gain 3 points there, or a turnover does the same thing.

Against a more disciplined and better executing defense, at worst, they're kicking a FG longer than the one you they would have attempted if you decline it.

The REAL reason why it was a bad decision is the two plays that happened after. You give up a 17 yard pass that shouldn't happen. And even after that, you're still in a position to not allow a FG, because now the Raiders decide to go for it. And you trust your veteran defensive players to not jump offsides like 12 year olds. If they didn't it appears it was a run play and we got excellent penetration.

So even after giving up a 17 yard completion, we're still in a better position to give up 0 points by accepting the penalty. Basically, your entire defense has to poorly execute multiple consecutive plays just for the Raiders to benefit from it. And unfortunately, that happened.

If you're not gonna trust your unit on 3rd and 17 to not allow a 1st down, does it really matter what penalties you accept? The season's over at that point.

Add a competent backup LT and a pass rusher that can actually get to the QB consistently.

I don't know. Their red zone offense is kind of out of this world. I don't see them getting blown out too often.

But its a longer FG, and Janikowski isn't exactly incredibly accurate from 50+.

You're also a sack or negative play away from being out of FG range.

Good luck trying to convince anyone. I posted that Janikowski is 56% from 50+ and got rebuked by people saying "he's made the most in NFL history". Doesn't make him magically more accurate, it just means he's taken more.

Wright is pure trash in coverage. Not even a liability! He's just there as a body to make it look good. I feel like I could put my 6 week old daughter there to get ran by. Wouldn't be any worse.

Harbaugh was an idiot for that call.

Online sucked pretty bad. Kinda expected.

Flacco is either not 100% or scared to hurt his knee again. Every game so far he hasn't been stepping into throws.

If fans knew the "right decision", then they wouldn't be second guessing Harbaugh. Can show you plenty of similar situations where other good HCs have accepted the penalty there.

There's plenty of scenarios that lead to the Raiders not scoring any points by taking the penalty, and that's kind of the goal. Conceding a FG sort of feels like giving up to me, especially with a defense that was playing well.

You're going on like 53 yards was out of the question for Janikowski though.

Harbaugh: "We want to play winning football. That's what we'll continue to work on."   :lol: Oh Harbaugh!!

They spent about 20% of their cap space this season on offensive lineman. Four of their top 10 cap hits are offensive lineman.

I think if Lewis were good to go, it would have gone smoother at LT, but yeah, the lack of outside pass rush is fairly concerning...

Not really. One had all day to throw the other didn't and should of won if his WRs could catch.

O-line and secondary.  Both have been crap for far too long.

No, I'm going on 53 yards being a coin flip, because that's essentially what it was. He's a 56% kicker from 50+ yards in his career.

I do think Trestman is already on the hot seat .

Possibly - but I think they came out with an adjusted plan based on how horrid the o line was playing in the first half. The did well to not totally abandon the run. The run game had a little life in the 2nd half.

I'm still not convinced Lewis is actually the backup at LT, but maybe that's just me.
