I juse think even if they didn't have Rhodes, they'd be fine.

I talked about this in the "Secondary" thread, but Zimmer in Cinci and in Minnesota has loaded up on defensive backs heavily to the point that he is five deep and has no worries if one goes down or leaves.

The Ravens are one deep and have huge concerns if one goes down.

Totally agree, they still would have a great CB group, we should stock up on CBs similar to Minnesota and Cinc. Denver also loaded up on defensive backs. I think we should do the same. We shouldn't have to panic like this is someone goes down.

GOOD: Joe Flacco, Steve Smith Sr., Mike Wallace, Terrance West, Devin Hester & Justin Tucker

BAD: Coach Harbaugh panicked again. By accepting the penalty late in the game, he gave Derek Carr another chance to throw a TD pass, which he did. This time, John's team simply could not bail him out. In spite of Joe's valiant effort on the last drive, Joe's receivers dropped two perfectly thrown passes. Chris Moore made a rookie mistake by looking downfield before catching the ball and Kamar Aiken dropped a perfect pass, which would have put us into FG position for JT. When the offense scores 27 points at home, the team should win. We would have won but for some woeful O-line play, inadequate pressure on their QB, some poor ST play like the field position it surrendered on the game's 1st TD by Oakland, stupid penalties for taunting, offsides on a 4th down play and other costly drive-ending penalties on the O-line.

UGLY: The offensive line is woefully offensive. If Hurst and Jensen were better than the two rookies, they would be starting instead of Stanley & Lewis. Having two rookies starting on the QB's blind side is crazy and desperate. Wagner's poor pass blocking was evident also. The costly strip sack and fumble late in the game resulted in another gift TD late in the game. By rights, we shoulda, woulda and coulda won the game by a score of 27 - 14. I had predicted a breakout game by our offense and a final score of 30 - 17. Again, shoulda, woulda, coulda. While our offensive performance was by no means a "breakout" game, it clearly was a dominant performance in every aspect but the final score.

PS - For all you armchair QBs out there, quit placing the blame on the wrong players and coaches. Coach Trestman's offense generated enough points to win and Coach Pees' defense played well enough to win. We dominated the Raiders statistically in every way except the final score. Coach Harbaugh deserves most of the blame for today's loss. Stupid is as stupid does and that was a stupid decision that ultimately cost us a victory. To his credit, he did accept responsibility for the bad decision in his post-game presser.

Flacco was good???? How so?

I think Flacco was good... He managed the ball very well besides the one fumble. I think we would have done better if we had better play calling on our side. This dink and dunk does not fit our offense that well. When you have a 37 year old as your #1 receiver and your next two options are Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman... This dink and dunk does not work. It doesn't help that our tight ends have been held in check when the team was raving about having the best in the league a couple months back. Every game the offense opens up once we go down two scores and they start throwing downfield and that is when we open up the offense. We need to score in the first and third quarter that is where we struggle. Hopefully West and Dixon can help us get there to open up the pass game.

I don't think Joe was good. He threw two really bad throws. One was on the 2PT conversion and the other on that dangerous near INT to Reggie Nelson. There was also that fumble where he showed awful awareness.

I don't think he was bad or awful either, he dropped back way too many times. 52 drop backs and you only get 288 passing yards? I think he would like to get more deep throws.

I do think the short passing game works sometimes, but you need big plays too. You just have to get them, it's that simple.

Here is a video anaylsis of the Crabtree touchdown plus other Touchdowns across the NFL. Makes me jealous of the offensive minds other teams have.

I pre-screened the video there is no bad language.

You know what's so funny. Fans go crazy on Joe Flacco and these types of posts don't get negged in the middle of the game. When things cool down, these posts get negged.

At least have some consistency.

I think Joe is one of the best QBs in the league.

I'd be really curious to see which QBs some of the people here would take over Flacco.

I could name a couple. However, I'd rather have Joe than to be in a situation where we always struggle because our QB is holding us back.

Career stats say otherwise, until the playoff Joe is the definition of average.

Brady, Rodgers, Newton, Brees, Ben, Luck, Carr.

Literally that's it.

I'm still not completely over the loss to the Raiders. Hopefully I will be recovered enough for the game tomorrow. I can't understand the sadness I feel at our mind boggling loss and our inability not to gain enough yards for a Tucker FG! Still sad.
