The Good, Bad and UGLY week 4 against the Raiders

Really not sure I'd call that an offensive line.

Shareece Wright is absolutely horrible and I'm not sure how much more the Ravens can trot him out there as a "viable option".

Can't really blame the defense because the Raiders were gifted field position by a strip sack and that long punt return, both putting the Raiders inside the 35 of the Ravens.

I didn't like accepting that penalty because a field goal doesn't make the game super out of reach, but that was extremely undisciplined by the defense to jump offsides. You've been an elite rush defense for a while, stuffed the run all day, and even did it on that play. Just settle the nerves.

Chris Moore's drop at the end and that low throw to Flacco really doomed that final drive, but why not give West at least one rush? He was getting over 5 YPC and the Raiders weren't going to sell out for the run given the field position.

Oh, also- Aiken is going to be the goat for this game. He was abysmal on special teams and had a few big drops that really just showed why he isn't a bigger part of this team.

Did he drop two passes on the final drive ?

no but that fumble was inexcusably bad pocket awareness

Should have been a DPI on that last play but we didn't deserve to win anyways.

Yep, that's what I saw too but refs let the Raiders get away with it. Refs hosed us against the Raiders just like they did last year.

Harbaugh still one of the most overrated coaches.  The accepted penalty killed us

Edit:  and going for 2 that early, smh

Why not just run EVERY down!?!?!? You only needed 5 yards to get into Tucker's range.

Nobody should feel confident kicking a 60+ yard FG with any kicker. He's at best a coin flip to make that kick.

We played like we needed 5, but we really needed about 10-15.

Making 60+ yarders in warmups with no rush and no pressure doesn't justify assuming its going to be made.

I have a higher opinion of the Ravens now than I did before the game. Wish Harbaugh had declined that unnecessary roughness penalty tho. But definitely have to be proud of how they played with Stanley and Lewis down.

The rookie hooked Aiken's arm, but per usual, Hochuli is a bum.

The biggest mistake today was Harbaugh declining that penalty, which led to a TD instead of a FG. No idea what he was thinking there.

The Ravens had given up a grand total of 7 second half points all year and the Raiders had gotten like 25 yards in the half. I understood the call. Disagreed with it, but understood.

Pretty standard based on what I've seen other coaches do. Had no issue with taking the penalty.

What was not standard on that drive was jumping offsides on 4th and inches, as if no team in the league has ever tried to hard count their way to a first down. Wasn't even one guy... it was like 4 guys, including Suggs, the most experienced defensive player on our entire team.

Ugly: Our entire passing offense consists off SSR and short pass to Juszczyk. Cut Hester, he has lost it, waste of a precious rosterspot

abysmal: Hurst

Bad: Trestman, West was on fire, he should've kept him running.

Good: West, Juszczyk, Allen and SSR.

Flacco screwed up big time that last drive. If he had not made rookie mistakes and actually stepped into his throw, that ball to pitta would have been on target. O-line was terrible the first half but did much better the second half, albeit it was still bad.

Aiken should have made that catch but i don't blame him for us losing the chance to win the game.

Harbaugh's stupidness to decline penalty bit us back hard.

Our run game finally got going this game and we still couldn't win.

Also, what was that prevent defense on the second to last raiders drive? We gave the raiders EASY TD.

Pees: let's not play the defense that was doing good against the raiders in the second half and lets give them easy completions and TDs.

This team disgusts me.

Shareece needs to be benched for Tavon and Aiken needs to be last on the depth chart. He wanted more opportunities but he squandered them. Too many drops from BP and Moore as well. I don't understand why we aren't using all of our TE's in the middle of the field especially when they blitzed us so much because they knew we couldn't run.

I don't know. I mean, 5 more yards and they were back in field goal range. Didn't make sense to me.

If you're counting on a penalty on the final play to help you win, you're doing it wrong.

The bad:

Judon being inactive while Smith gets to play

Harbaugh

Joe's forced fumble

defense being anti-clutch

Shareece Wright

Kendrick Lewis

terrible backup O-linemen

not running the ball 3 times straight on the last possession to get within the 5 yards needed to put tucker in field goal range.

NOT kicking the field goal at the end.

Z'darius Smith

DUMERVIL being benched on the last drive

PLAYCALLING

PLAYCALLING

PLAYCALLING!!!!!!

Anyone who thought Wright was going to be good here didn't see his entire career. Very inconsistent and the highs aren't even that high. No idea why the FO gave him 13mil.

Can we swap wright and Young?

I am in agreement with you last week I thought give Wright another shot but now lets see what Young can do.

The Good? The Run game. West was a beast today and was finding open lanes all day long. He's still the starter regardless even if Dixon comes back for now.

The Bad? Goodness, no pressure from QTR 1-3, I think I saw Suggs get pancaked too.

The Ugly? The offensive line pass blocking. I have to say, Jensen looked awful today in pass blocking, he was getting beat all day long like a drum and it's clear Lewis is our guy at LG right now. Zuttah was so-so but had some dumb penalties and Hurst got ripped to shreds. Wagner wasn't great either. Oh, and Shareece Wright got ate today, just ate up and right now I prefer Tavon Young as our starter because he is balling.

And I cannot forget, How on Earth do you NOT ACCEPT THAT PENALTY? Stupid, stupid decision.

Aiken proving he just isn't good, last year was a fluke for him

I've said this all along. He just looked good because he was literally the only option. Never was a fan of him
