[News] Justin Forsett, Ronnie Stanley Inactive Versus Raiders

26 posts in this topic

Interesting development..a little concerned about not having forsett for pass protection on third downs but here's to hoping the young guys can carry the load and provide a spark.

Hopefully West finds his groove and keeps the defense guessing so flacco can tear their secondary apart. Buck will also have extra fresh legs and have a dorito on his shoulder.

Forsett sitting this game does not surprise me, probably because I would have made the same move. Buck Allen has been sitting and is a very similar back to Forsett. With the ground game not really moving in full swing yet, they need something to change and create a spark. Hopefully this will do it and keep all the back chompin' at the bit.

Stanley not playing is a bit of a surprise, but better he gets healthy for the rest of the season than risk anything happening. This will now be a statement game for Hurst and a chance to show last years injury was a fluke occurrence.

so,is it FORSETT or the offensive line? neither LEWIS or STANLEY were known as bull dozers in the run game, more pass blockers,i think a pick 6 should of been great at both.

I thought STANLEY said his foot was fine and no way he'd miss the game, makes you wonder if HARBAUGH is just seeing if he can get more push with HURST,I really think JENSEN will replace ZUTAH from here on out,he's really a nastier lineman.

Stanley said that before last weeks game, not this one.

This ridiculous. all of the these five step drops (no play action which wouldn't even work because were not running the ball) with a scrub left tackle against an OLB (Mack) who is one of the best in the game. And then, when I thought things couldn't get any worse a flea flicker?!?!?! A play that takes the longest time to develop. They are pinning their ears back. This is the type of play calling an OLB or DE dream of. Joe needs to get Trestman straightened out, and the Joe needs to get John straightened out, for not straightening out Trestman earlier.

They come out in the second half and don't get Hurst help, start having quick passes, and at least run the ball some, Trestman, has got to be questioned.

time to fire OC this is just disgraceful

lol...you watch the game and you think the play-calling is to blame? OC doesn't miss tackles, OC doesn't Hold, OC doesn't let Raiders defense get to Joe.

Decision to not decline penalty was bad against best red zone offense. That was 4-points.

Hindsight is 20/20. It was a 38 yard FG before the penalty, would have been a 53 yard FG after. Everyone wants to talk about Harb's decision but what about the D giving up a 1st Down on 3rd & 18?

I have to disagree. This was a coaching loss IMO. First, to go without giving Hurst help for so long watching the offense be unable to get started in the first half.

Second, chasing the points. Going for 2-points and not declining the penalties to put Raiders in an obvious field goal. The result was scoring a touchdown. That 5-point the Raiders should have had off coaching decision. Raiders have a good defense. If you keep giving them opportunities , they will score.

I think the defense is legit if you holding that talent to under 300 yards total offense.

Joe throwing the ball 52 times has never been a winning formula. If that's not the coordinator, then who?

Critical plays were Joe's fumble, and the long return. Both lead to touchdowns.

Yep, I have to agree with Law. When you can't run the ball all game, and then you get it going you then decide to throw it three times in a row? They had five yards to go! That's on coaching, IMO. After the first "almost pick", you decide to keep throwing? smh
I guess Trestman has a coaching job waiting next year in Oakland, huh?

The D had already stopped Oakland on a 3rd down though. They wouldn't have to do it again if the coach wasn't acting like a fool.

Agreed it's hindsight. The defense should always get off the field on 3rd and 18. However, if the defense gives you a fourth down, take it. Janakowski can hit the ball from 53 so I didn't think they gained anything by giving them another opportunity to get a first down.If the defense stopped them and he misses the kick, Harbs a genius.

the secondary is still a liability just like last year. An average to above average qb will tear them up. Cousins will have a huge passing game next week.
