[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. Raiders

Stanley might not be able to play. That's horrible news.

Outside of Flacco and maybe Suggs, Stanley appears (based on our roster) to be the next most irreplaceable player on the team.

I had hoped to never see Hurst on the field again ... and here we have the potential for him to be responsible for blocking Mack. If Stanley sucks it up and plays, I'm afraid he'll be ill equipped to deal with Mack as well and might continue to have to deal with this injury for much longer if he's not allowing himself to heal.

I'm not feeling very good about that. Not at all.

It sounds like Stanley is game time decision.. they really need him w/ Mack coming in this week. He takes pride in not ever missing a start, fighting through.. despite missing practice..heres to having him on Sunday grinding out 2 weeks in a row even w/ a bum foot.

And it sounds like Lewis will play, participated limited practice today, and sounds like he cleared protocal..so thats good.
Need these guys to keep Mack locked down

Otherwise will have to keep a TE Gillmore all day to help Hurst who cant block

This is why keeping Monroe as a back up made sense.

True. The fact he was ready to retire though would still put the Ravens back in the same boat anyways.

I'm still counting on Stanley making the start. He has been everything he you could ask for from a starting rookie LT and looks poised to continue to be a gamer come rain or pain.

Hurst will be much better if he needs to play. Getting blocked into your own QB is something that rarely happens in the first place, kinda freak injury in a few ways. Extra motivation for Hurst anyways.

If anything Trestman can take advantage by running lots of looks Kalil Macks way then swiftly going away from him. that or dink and dunk over him if he's getting too aggressive.

rest Dixon. Put this game in Joe's hands. This week unleash the speed. You have three burners in Perriman, Wallace and Moore. Use them for some deep shots. Just throw it a little further for Perriman. He's faster ;).

Then that's what they will do. What makes you think an injured Stanley would be any better? He'd need help too with a foot injury.

I'd prefer Stanley sit a game or 2, if that's what's needed, instead of him pulling a JJWatt and being done for the year.

Agreed and really hope the Ravens have a game plan to compensate "if" Hurst struggles either with help on his side, quicker passes, or whatever helps

"Head Coach John Harbaugh was asked if Stanley has a significant injury.
“I don’t see it that way from what I’ve been told,” Harbaugh said Friday. “I still think he has a chance for Sunday." Man I hope its not the same people that said Perriman had a Boo Boo.

With the lack of a running game, Joes been forced to throw. With Dixon still out it looks like it will be the same this week only with less protection for Joe. I don't like it. So the defense better be ready from the git go. Same for our WR's. We can't play catch up with the Raiders. I hope Stanley can play safely in a limited role like third down passing situations.

Well he did, he just took OD long to heal, and they weren't expecting it

That would be great if Joe had enough time to throw deep

If Hurst held the Raiders to no sacks last year, I'm sure he won't be overwhelmed this year. But, I would still have preferred Stanley to suit up but if he is hurting, this may be a good week to rest and recover.

Didn't he retire man? plus his price tag was ridiculous. Keeping Monroe did not make any sense

No problem if Lewis started at LT and Urschel played LG....Lewis has started every game, and having been a LT at Nebraska, and with his size i think he is a better option than Hurst.....JMO.....

Perriman stuff aside. I'm sick of the all the talk from fans on that situation. However, I don't like that quote from Harbaugh at all. He would say he was just knicked up if that were the case. We're not dealing with BB here. I think 100 % Stanley shouldn't play this week, even as important as he is. In fact, that's exactly why he shouldn't. We need him this year!!!! Let him sit for 1-3 weeks and get healthy. I know everyone's lasting memeory of hurst is getting pushed into Flacco, but he actually played well his rookie year. Stalnley needs to sit this week. Period

I think they sit Stanley this week, as they should and dress Lewis for the backup role. That way they can bring Lewis in if Jensen, Urschel or Hurst struggle.

Unfortunately neither of the Lewis/Urschel/Jensen trio sounds any more encouraging at LT than Hurst...

Would have hardly made any sense.

1.) you don't keep someone with a starting LT salary and cap figure for backup. Messes up thew whole cap situation

2.) Even if he was here, who knows if Monroe was available and injury free at the moment?

3.) He's retired...

How could we possibly know if it's allright? We have never seen him take a snap at LT in the NFL... Just because he as a T at the college level, doesn't mean he's ready for the NFL at LT.

Hurst at LT and Khalil Mack on the field sounds like a nightmare to me...

He somehow did the job last time we played them, just hoping he can repeat that performance

Um, no...Monroe was pretty much ready to hang his cleats up in any case, so I don't see having a guy who is not 100% committed to football being an asset to your team. I'm by no means a big Hurst supporter, but I would take a guy that is dedicated to playing football over someone who seems to get more enjoyment talking about smokin' reefer...

Agreed. Stanley needs the rest and it would be unwise to let him push through it and have his foot bothering him throughout the season for the sake of one game. Give him a week and let him come back fresh.

I know its not exactly the same but didn't he take snaps at LT during the preseason?
