Even if there is a chance to get him, no way I'd sacrifice McGahee to pick him up. That's a pretty big downgrade, especially since he doesn't fit into our offense very well.

Not that I think we need him, but how can you say he doesnt fit into our offense? He's practically the same type of back as McGahee...just better.

Because he's a proven commodity; a Pro Bowl rb. Sproles has proven nothing, other than being a good kick returner.

I'd say he's more similiar to Rice than McGahee...but I don't think he really fits because we have always been a power running team. Even our change of pace backs have never been burners; they're usually the shifty types w/good hands.
But even if we compare him to McGahee, how can anyone think he's better? He hasn't proven himself as a RB. We know what McGahee's capable of. I mean, I wouldn't complain if we got him, I just wouldn't want to see McGahee leave to make room for him.

We do not need Sporeles for anything on this team, sorry. We need cb's wr's and de/lb. Ray Rice is just as good as Sporles and he is signed to a rookie contract.

Let me break down every situation for you guys from my own perspective.

First and foremost, they did not say they will shop L.T., but it is a possibility:

The big question is, can Sproles take over 20 carries a game, and stay healthy an entire season? The most he has had was just 61 carries this season, he isn't exactly battle tested yet, and he had 1 good game, that's it, and it was against a terrible rush defense. In that one game he had 23 carries, which isn't enough to really test this guy's ability to stay fresh.

Regarding our backs, we don't need any additions, lets spend that money elsewhere. Losing McGahee hits our cap, and that would be FOOLISH for someone like Sproles that isn't even tested. 1 game doesn't prove ANYTHING. We also have Ray Rice, which is a very similar style to Sproles, so we wouldn't need two similar backs like that.
