And as far as defense is concerned, look at the QB's the raven's have faced. What happens when they go up against a real tough offense? The front 7 is the real deal especially when Dumervil comes back but the back half of the defense is shaky, Josh McCown showed us that. If i'm the Ravens I'm looking to replace Jimmy Smith because it seems like since he got his money he's satisfied

I personally think that JAX has a pretty good offense. The Bills have shown the ability to score on other teams, but outside of one missed tackle, we really could have shut them out. The entire team seemed to be in a 1st quarter coma vs. the Browns ... after they woke up, McCown didn't do squat.

While Jimmy hasn't played up to expectation, I don't know that it is fair to blame his play on complacency due to money in his pocket. He was set back due to injury and while that is no longer an excuse, I think he's just lost some of his swagger and confidence and somehow needs to get that back. I don't see it as a lack of effort.

Going into the season, the secondary was definitely under scrutiny, because we just didn't know if the changes we made were going to translate to results. So, your saying those changes didn't work because we haven't played a top 10 offense yet? The concerns around the secondary have been totally replaced by concerns around the o line. As far as a unit that has struggled on this team, that is the one that stands out at this point.

This has to be media fluff to create something to talk about and give his team a reason to get up for this game. KO is mad because he did not get the offer he wanted. Okay. You got it elsewhere, so problem solved. You cannot always gets your pie and eat it too. You were still given an highly competitive offer. the fact Raiders spent very little of their cap and could outbid the Ravens doesn't really say they care, as much as they really needed someone of your caliber and could afford to over pay. Just wait until they try to re-structure when your salary is out of balance for their cap.

Ha Ha ... that's really good ... because you know with guys like Cooper, Mack and Carr - this team is going to have to spend to the cap and beyond to keep that group together. Then they're going to look down their payroll to see where they can save money and the $11M on the line that shows LG is going to jump off the page. Given the way they've structured his contract (flat with no dead money past 2018), if he says no, he very well could be sent packing.

Unless he is shifted to LT and can play well at that position with some consistency, he will be over-paid.

Life in the NFL. That's what makes this Patriot run all the more amazing.

Oh Poor KO. He chased the money and I would imagine if he was really happy with his decision, he wouldn't be crying about it now. He had a choice, stay where you are comfortable and benefit in the long run with another super bowl win, or chase the money down a black hole, literally, THE black hole. Oakland is only surpassed in its failure by Cleveland.

Yea we were really close to beating Oakland last year and this year it should be a cake walk. Oakland is a terrible terrible terrible team. It really is selfish of KO to take the money. Players need to focus on winning Superbowls, not getting paid. If a guy has played in any pro sports leagues at any point in his life time, he set for life. And injuries are never a problem in the NFL. Even if KO does sustain a career ending injury on Sunday, he won't have to worry about is finances because all of the money in that Oakland contract is guaranteed.

Maybe they have a "terrible" defense, but even that isn't the case as they faced N.O. and ATL. Tennessee didn't do much.
I will wait to make judgements after the game. The Ravens have faced nobody except JAX. We will see what the #2 defense in the NFL does against the #2 offense in the NFL.
So. Terrible team? Not a shot. This will not be a cake walk. Rarely do the Ravens make life easy. I'll take the win, take heartburn medicine and revel that they are 4-0.

Well KO will gets some looks at a red hot Jernigan

A little Jernigan. A little Williams. A little Sizzle. Boy is going to earn his pay this Sunday.

Yea, my bad, I was being a bit sarcastic in response to fusuymada.  He thinks that Oakland is a "black hole" and that KO has "sour grapes" because he is on a terrible team.  He also seems to think that KO is a big jerk for taking the money, and that all KO should care about is super bowls. All of which is ridiculous.  They come in at number 2 in total offense and towards the end in total defense.  We come in at number 2 in total defense and come in towards the end on total offense (can't really put to much weight into those number as we have only played three games) .  Its going to be a really good match up.  If a team in the NFL has a good quarterback they are always going to be in the playoff race and will never be an easy win (assuming Carr doesn't regress at any point).  And you cant forget about the players that they have picked up in the top five the last couple of years.  Amari and Mack look like bonafide stars.  I also don't think their defense is as bad as it has looked, but I also think the same thing about our Offense.  I think I am going to wear gloves while watching this game, so i don't gnaw of a finger.  Its going to come down to the wire.

If KO thought we were going to compete with what the Raiders offered him, he didn't learn much about how this organization is run during his time here. Don't know why his feelings would be hurt after he basically won the lottery from us putting him out at LT for a couple of games at the end of his rookie season.

He's playing guard for Oakland G..

Sadly, they almost always chase the money. And then, for a lot of them, it's gone within five years after they stop playing.

Paul Krugger, Torey Smith, Haloti Ngata and now KO.
They all took more money to go elsewhere.

Krugger got big money to go to one of the worst teams.

Torey got a little more $ than what the Ravens were offering and probably loses it all to taxes, living in California.

Haloti always wanted more money, so there isn't much mystery that he moved on, only talking about coming back after his deal is done in Detroit.

Now KO is salty about not being paid more than the Ravens could afford to stay where he said he wanted to stay !

In the long run I can see going somewhere else to make millions more. Just be willing to take the BAD with the extra money guys !

Worst Team, Higher taxes & bad team, Bad team and living in Detroit.
KO'S problem, I'm not quite sure of...
He got big $ and gets to live in Southern California !
I guess he just wants something to cry about.
Maybe Suggs can help him out with that this weekend...!

Psst, Southern Cali's the issue.

I'd rather field a competitive team than overpay a player...KO should remember that Baltimore was not only the team that gave him his chance to play in the league, but also allowed him to experience a super bowl victory...sorry to hear he has a grudge against the Raven's, but in the long run I have a feeling that he will look back with fondness about playing on a team that is dedicated to winning . As for now, he should enjoy the money that Oakland paid him, and be ready to restructure his deal in the next couple of years when his salary cap numbers get to high for the Raiders to afford...

THIS is truth.

Hurns alone is a #1 receiver on many teams and he is second...

Well, let's look at it this way: KO apparently really wanted to stay in Baltimore, otherwise he wouldn't be complaining about leaving. Take that as a compliment. He knows full-well we aren't going to be able to compete with other teams in a bidding war. It's not our fault he took the biggest contract available to play for a non-contender--that was KO's decision, and he has to live with it--pouting isn't going to change anything.

true, but I don't think KO is afraid of anyone. He pancaked and landed on a db in week 1...........it was one of the nastiest hits/plays I've ever seen. Granted it was a tackle/big hit, but for a lean mean 310+ pound fighting machine to do what he did to that db, I'm surprised the guy ever got up

Well, I read later on that you were being sarcastic, which is cool, but I think one point you brought up may well be true: KO does have a super bowl ring, which may have accounted somewhat in his decision to test out free agency and sell himself to the highest bidder...and Oakland is not a scrub team, but one that's generally viewed as up-and-coming. There are a lot of players who stay in the league as long as possible, trying to win that championship. Guy's like KO and T. Smith already got their ring, so why not make as much coin as possible? Did Torrey really believe that he was going to a great team when he bolted to San Fran? Grab that cash and make a stash...and as long as you don't burn to many bridges, and maintain your health, you can possibly come back in your twilight years to chase another ring...

I'll take Weddle and Wallace. Every time. Weddle alone has made a big difference in the defense. And Flacco has a veteran receiver to throw deep to. KO. is a beast. No doubt. But the ravens got the better deal in the end.

Just my opinion but the Ravens are better off with Weddle and Wallace because Stanley and Lewis are the future on the O-line and Weddle and Wallace are up grades to the positions they play.....
