Oh Poor KO. He chased the money and I would imagine if he was really happy with his decision, he wouldn't be crying about it now. He had a choice, stay where you are comfortable and benefit in the long run with another super bowl win, or chase the money down a black hole, literally, THE black hole. Oakland is only surpassed in its failure by Cleveland.

Sadly, they almost always chase the money. And then, for a lot of them, it's gone within five years after they stop playing.

"The Ravens miss Osemele, but don't regret losing him" yeah I think that aptly sums it up. Ofc his loss hurt our line, we're adjusting. But Ravens didn't have the cap space to pay what Raiders paid. So, KO could look at it that way - Ravens vs Raiders $ have different budgets to work with.

And for Ravens they've already benefitted with Weddle and Wallace. Losing KO hurts but I agree they wouldn't be 3-0 without W2s (plus Watson when he returns will be interesting to see what he brings).

I liked KO, but let's not pretend he was the most dominant, reliable OL we've ever had. I always felt as though he was battling through some kind of injury for half his career and until he played a couple of meaningless games at LT, the only other body of work at tackle that we had was his rookie year at RT (which wasn't great). I'm definitely glad to see him being successful, but really there was a choice between KO and Yanda and it's obvious that KO was going to cost a lot more even though Yanda was better (just older).

Also no to the Wagner-Jensen-Zuttah-Urschel-Yanda line. Too much shifting/new responsibilities for what may only be a few games- if it's a season-ender that's one thing, but this seems like a small ding. Hurst struggles, but it's better than creating struggles across the entire line. Plus Mack lines up mostly over the RT anyway, so moving Wagner seems like a bad idea off that fact alone.

Business isn't personal. Why do so many people take it personally? Because it affects them personally? Maybe. Like Drew Brees going back to San Diego this week and saying he has been waiting for this for a long time. How many years ago was that? Feels like a decade ago when he got hurt there. Anyway, I do recall the Ravens offering him a significant contract (they were limited by the cap) but KO went after the big payday. He got what he wanted in the end. Let's all move on.

If KO thought we were going to compete with what the Raiders offered him, he didn't learn much about how this organization is run during his time here. Don't know why his feelings would be hurt after he basically won the lottery from us putting him out at LT for a couple of games at the end of his rookie season.

"The richest guard in NFL history"! So if I am reading this right He is Making More Than Yanda, 5 Time Pro Bowler, Top 100 player in he NFL, and the Best Guard in the NFL and he hasn't been to 1 Pro Bowl yet? He needs to shut up and count his blessings and Money that Baltimore Drafted Him and Made him the Player he is today.

KO: love you Bro! Thx for your play and nastiness on the field. Just know, it's a team game and business, and not always about you. Money shows people's trueness. Give me Oz's 80/20 rule everyday and we'll stay competitive over the long haul! Go Ravens!

Paul Krugger, Torey Smith, Haloti Ngata and now KO.
They all took more money to go elsewhere.

Krugger got big money to go to one of the worst teams.

Torey got a little more $ than what the Ravens were offering and probably loses it all to taxes, living in California.

Haloti always wanted more money, so there isn't much mystery that he moved on, only talking about coming back after his deal is done in Detroit.

Now KO is salty about not being paid more than the Ravens could afford to stay where he said he wanted to stay !

In the long run I can see going somewhere else to make millions more. Just be willing to take the BAD with the extra money guys !

Worst Team, Higher taxes & bad team, Bad team and living in Detroit.
KO'S problem, I'm not quite sure of...
He got big $ and gets to live in Southern California !
I guess he just wants something to cry about.
Maybe Suggs can help him out with that this weekend...!

That about says it all!  Meanwhile, I hope we get another SB ring for Webby, who took a pay cut to stay a Raven this year.

IMO - KO needs to zip it. I'm not interested in hearing his sour grapes about us dissing him by offering to make him the highest paid guard in the league. Granted, this offseason 2 other guards got more than what we offered, so he would have only been the 3rd highest paid, but still ... I just don't understand the view that our offer was an insult.

Can't you just be happy with your mega millions and go play football? Can't you at least view your time here - which included a SB championship - somewhat positively?

I'd rather field a competitive team than overpay a player...KO should remember that Baltimore was not only the team that gave him his chance to play in the league, but also allowed him to experience a super bowl victory...sorry to hear he has a grudge against the Raven's, but in the long run I have a feeling that he will look back with fondness about playing on a team that is dedicated to winning . As for now, he should enjoy the money that Oakland paid him, and be ready to restructure his deal in the next couple of years when his salary cap numbers get to high for the Raiders to afford...

Technically absolutely true - but he was trtaded because he wouldn't restructure his deal.

Still, you're right of course.

Ravens also auditioned him at LT which helped him get that ridiculous contract

Oakland is turning it around though. They have the pieces in place to be successful in the next couple of years. Here is the issue Oakland is going to have. They are giving out a lot of money in FA, which is okay when you have that money. But, they have guys that will want to be paid like the best at their position in Amari Cooper, Mack, and Carr. All 3 will deserve big pay days, and Cooper and Mack could easily ask to be the highest paid at their position. If you want to be a good football team, you can only make very few players the richest at their position, and I think they will have to many mouths to feed with a limited amount of cap space before to long. Its possible they work it out, because I think they will have a lot of cap space again next offseason, but those contracts will begin to add up in the next couple years.

Very true, which is why I predict that the Raiders will ask KO to restructure his contract within the next couple of years or so...teams have a limited budget, everyone knows the Raven's would have loved to keep KO, and we even offered him Yanda-type money, but he went to the highest bidder (who I think overpaid for a guard).

No team can keep all their players - however, it's the teams like the Ravens, Pats, and Squealers that know when to strategically let guys go, while making other teams over value players we cast off. The Raider's will have maybe another year before they have to make some tough choices that will decide if they are contenders or pretenders...

KO is upset? Sorry gang but I don't buy it. This sounds like the hype visiting teams try to pull to get some friction going between teams that are not natural rivals like we are with the Steelers. Why would a player complain about a team that gave him the chance to shine and when he did shine let him go on to make big money and not franchise him? Nice try trying to stir up some controversy but it seems a little thin to me. Welcome back, KO. But I'm just not falling for your fake pity party.

Yea we were really close to beating Oakland last year and this year it should be a cake walk. Oakland is a terrible terrible terrible team. It really is selfish of KO to take the money. Players need to focus on winning Superbowls, not getting paid. If a guy has played in any pro sports leagues at any point in his life time, he set for life. And injuries are never a problem in the NFL. Even if KO does sustain a career ending injury on Sunday, he won't have to worry about is finances because all of the money in that Oakland contract is guaranteed.

For more on this manufactured hate between players or teams see today's article on Wallace and Webb healing their rift of several years and how it was artificially started by the Steelers head coach telling Wallace to find a Raven to hate.

So who is the coach he didn't see eye to eye with? CASTILLO?

Has to be IMHO. Juan is great at teaching pass pro to his players. I am still waiting to see him teach the same players to be run maulers, going on in the 2rd year now. Run game has steadily decreased since Juan's arrival. Not saying he is a bad coach, but the facts are the facts and you won't win late int he year, especially if you cannot run when the weather is cold.

I love K.O. but like Tony Lombardi said business is business. You got waaaayy more $ than what the Ravens could offer...you cashed in and became the highest paid guard, what's their to be bitter about? You wasn't gonna get that $ from us knowing we just gave Yanda his new deal. And you mentioned you had a issue with a coach(if I had a guess it was Juan Castillo) but whoever it is and if you didn't see eye to eye with this particular coach, why would you want to stay here? Like I said I still got love for KO, you helped us win a 'ship.

This has to be media fluff to create something to talk about and give his team a reason to get up for this game. KO is mad because he did not get the offer he wanted. Okay. You got it elsewhere, so problem solved. You cannot always gets your pie and eat it too. You were still given an highly competitive offer. the fact Raiders spent very little of their cap and could outbid the Ravens doesn't really say they care, as much as they really needed someone of your caliber and could afford to over pay. Just wait until they try to re-structure when your salary is out of balance for their cap.

And as far as defense is concerned, look at the QB's the raven's have faced. What happens when they go up against a real tough offense? The front 7 is the real deal especially when Dumervil comes back but the back half of the defense is shaky, Josh McCown showed us that. If i'm the Ravens I'm looking to replace Jimmy Smith because it seems like since he got his money he's satisfied
