[News] Kelechi Osemele Has An Ax To Grind In Return To Baltimore

The departed left guard said the Ravens didn’t offer ‘much at all’ in contract negations. Facing the Ravens isn’t just any other game to Osemele, as he looks forward to pancaking his former teammates.

KO should be happy. He got much more money from Oakland that he would have here. Fact is, they overpaid. Ravens should also be happy. With the $$$ they saved, they landed Weddle, Wallace, and Watson (not their fault he had a season-ending injury) plus added Stanley and Lewis to the OL. I'd make that trade any day. Which is why the Ravens' record this year is 3-0, not 0-3.

“That, in particular, had to do with an individual in the organization that I didn’t quite gel with and had issues with,” Osemele explained Wednesday. “That wasn’t the organization as a whole. That was one coach in particular.

Castillo, possibly?

Kinda puzzling to say the least. If he was aware of the potential for a trade just due to numbers, what else you gonna do? Raiders obviously have not spent near as much of their salary cap dollars and swooped in with a deal too good to pass up. I look at this deal as a win win for both sides. I would still rather KO was able to stick around. It was just not in the cards for the dollars he wanted and what the Ravens were able to offer, that is just business side of things.

I will say this though KO can pancake like a boss.

Ravens didn't offer you much? Are you kidding me? They offered you enough to make you the highest paying guard in the league even though they did not have a lot of room in salary cap. Just because another team paid you more than a 3 mil per year doesn't mean that ravens disrespected you. I was hoping for a better homecoming game but osemele's comments have made me sour on him.

Can't wait to see him go up against Timmy and Brandon, between the whistles.  KO sounds saucy, but we offered him a fair deal.  If he wants to be saucy, whatever, move on.  Liked you when you were here, but I am not losing any sleep without you.  (Besides we are 3-0 without you, and grooming a rookie to replace you)  Jensen and Urschel could easily step in to play LG, and Alex is doing fine so far.  Would obviously love a better run game, and better run blocking scheme on the left side, but we are 3-0 and have plenty to work on as the season grinds on.

Raiders 2nd in the league in rushing, and it has a lot to do with KO, and we are sucking, and it has a lot to do with not having KO....But you can;t pay what we don't have, but i have always been a fan of KO, he is old school, nasty.....

Sorry big KO wish things worked out for him staying in Bmore but he is gonna find out out about messing with the Ravens! He make not like the Ravens anymore but he will "RESPECT" them just like the rest of the world! He better listen to his coaches and his head coach a Ex Raven because it's gonna be a long day Sunday with a Ravens victory! 4-0 baby 4-0 because WE THE BEST!

"I wasn’t really offered much at all... they can hurt your feeling sometimes" What? 8.5 million was plenty K.O. They offer you a great deal. He probably wanted to leave the Ravens anyway because he didn't like the Ravens organization in the first place.

So let me.get this straight. KO got offered enough $ to become the highest paid guard in the league, by a team that he wanted to stay with. Knowing that thw Ravens were up against the wall and had many other needs. So when he was offered stupid money by the Raiders, he gladly takes it. Somehow this is the Raven's fault and now he is coming to town ready to wreck our Defensive line? All I can say is good luck big fella...
He may be a little salty like Jalen Ramsey after the game too. Hopefully it's with the same results. RAVENS 4 and 0 !

What was his injury history when he was with the Ravens?

Missed a majority of his 2nd year b/c of his back injury.  After that he may have missed a game or two per season.

Chalk this one up to another blunder by the great Oz. Instead of signing Osemele, the Ravens so called brain trust signed Eugene Monroe to a big deal even though he was the worst lineman on the Ravens offensive line. If they hadn't wasted money on him, Osemele would still be here. Injuries were a problem, but, man, when he played, he was a brute. We sure are missing that this year.

he knew up front as a gaurd he wasn't gonna get that kind of money here,a gaurd,he should be giddy getting what he got,the raiders always have over paid for players, hes just trying to motivate himself,if i were the ravens defense i'd play it to my advantage and try to get penalties, they are the highest penalixed team in th league.

Hes a great player and our offense has suffered without him, but he was overpaid. Hes worth Brandon Brooks money. I dont know why hes burning bridges when hes not going to see the end of his new contract.

You go big KO. Keep throwing that fuel on the fire. We need all the bulletin board material we can get.

When it blows up in your face, and it will, you'll hang your head.

You may end up pancaking some guys, but keep it classy or #89 gonna beat the hell out of your knee caps.

Raiders just overpaid him. He took the extra millions as would any player in the NFL. Krueger, T Smith, McPhee, Ellerbee, the list goes on and on for ALL NFL teams.

Why can't these guys simply say "They offered me more money and I took it".

KO was great when he was healthy. The Ravens couldn't commit such a large proportion of the cap to the OG position to pay him what Oakland offered, and made the right choice in favoring Yanda. I wish KO well, except on Sunday, where I hope he gets a steady diet of Brandon Williams, Pearce, and Jernigan enroute to putting Carr on his backside.

Blunder? We offered him 8.5 million a year, are you saying we should've matched the raiders deal?

He was definitely a road grader but i still think the elimination of the cut blocks are the major reason for our run game struggles

Exactly. No hard feelings. Just say they offered me 3 mil more per year and 10 more guaranteed over the duration and no love lost. Well say thank you for your service and wish you best of luck.

Yeah, what's he mad about ??? Ravens offered him #1 guard money at the time; the Raiders just offered (a lot) more, so he ran for the money. His choice, live with it. Love how some players bash on their previous organization when all the really want to do is chase the money. If that's your thing, just say so.
BTW - hope he gets stomped on Sunday.
