With an exception of last year, he usually puts up mediocre at best numbers for the season and is VERY int prone. I don't see what you people see in the guy that holds the ball for too long, and gets sacked 1203 times a game. Put Roethlisberger on a team with a horrible D like the Chiefs and Ben goes 6-10 at best.[/quote]
Dude, Im a total Ravens fan through and through, but I know how to give credit where it is due. The fact is, great QBs usually never come from Horrible teams. He does what he needs to to win the game. Flacco doesnt have eye popping numbers, but look where he has brought his team.
The best I can think of as far as a good QB on a mediocre to bad team is Drew Brees.
When you have the #1 D backing you up you can afford more mistakes, that is all. Im not saying he is God, maybe not even a top 10 QB, but he is a GOOD QB.

Yeah I know where you're coming from, but I just think people give him Too much credit. I know and have said he's a qb, but all the analysts think he's the second coming of Joe Montana or something.

haha, yeah right...at this point Flacco is actually looking more promising than him. Joe just needs to bulk up a little bit.

I agree it would be nice to see Joe bulk up a little bit, fill out that 6'6" frame. But he was still able to escape Jevon Kearse grasps (i think if I remember correctly) and push forward for a 3-4 yards gain on what would've been a sack for most QBs.

yeah, but Kearse had him the jersey. Thats all leg power driving forward. But if he had actually gotten an arm on Flacco's body, it may have been a different story. I think he could stand to gain 15-20 lbs of muscle. Doesnt need Big Ben's beer belly though.

Flacco has been a good Qb this year but one thing that sets him apart from Ben (so far) is 4th qtr passing. This has been a strength of Ben's since he came into the league. As of right now Ben has led the Steelers to 16 4th quarter comeback wins. There is good and bad in that. He often is average for the first half but when the game is close he's damn good.

Here's the thing about "numbers" they dont mean crap. I can't beleive how stats have changed sports. How about 13-4? If you want "stats" go watch baseball. Peyton Manning and his "numbers" are golfing.

almost make you wonder what he could do if he played like that for 4th quarters...
Of course no player is gonna tell you they play any differently in one point of the game, but sometimes you can tell when hes beingmore conservative and waiting for the defense to win the game, but he usually turns it on when he has to.
If flacco can learnthat hes golden.

But in a way stats matter about overall goodness of the QB, Peyton sure is out of the playoffs, but he is better then Flacco and Roethlisberger as of right now, so I dont know your argument. The team might not be better, im just talking about the skill of the QB.

My argument is I'll take a quaterback with 300 interceptions if he can still put together a scoring drive and win a championship...it's all about the rings from a true fans perspective..why should I care what Bens stats are?? I just want to see the Steelers in February...can't you say the same for the birds?

No one says he's amazing.?.?
He never makes the the top 3 list, rarely makes the top 5, but is consistently in the top 10 (as he should be). You can't alway use stats to judge a player. Some players win games with intangibles that there are no stats for.

Exactly...he wins big games. Lets face it, Peyton is incredible, but I've seen him get a little roughed up back there and fall apart. Ben holds it together, and does what needs to be done to win. In spite of the sacks and pics..which torture us steeler fans in the process.

I still like Ben. I think your Flaco has that same type of make-up, and maybe a better arm....choke choke, did I actually write that!?

Not just the QB's, but the teams as a whole are a lot alike IMHO.
