Willie "cocky" Parker?

123 posts in this topic

Hmmm. ESPN reports. Willie Parker saw the Ravens defense play last Sunday, and that "encouraged" him. He thinks he'll have a big day against B'more's defense. Hey, I'm not going to stoop down to his level, and be cocky, but last time one of the Steelers running backs were cocky, he went out with a broken shoulder. Watch what you say, Willie.

I hope the Steelers are putting all their eggs into Parker's basket but I think the only ones who think this are media commentators. Even the Steelers know that running on the Chargers is not the same as running on us. Especially if you rely on someone who has consistently been a non-factor against us.

True. I hate this. I have two snow days for my school because its -17 F outside w/out wind chill factored in. Days are sooooo long.

Why wouldn't he be "encouraged"? The last 2 games the Steelers have played Parker has rushed for 262 yds and 3 tds. he is finally healthy and it's the AFCCG! The Raven D is a great D, but even a die hard fan has seen that they are banged up and the last game was not a dominating performance. Why is it cocky to be encouraged by what he has seen from the last game?

Have to agree here too. Its a confident cocky not in your face remark. Besides the Ravens need to shore up the run defense for this game. C. Johnson had 70 yards and a score in one half of work last Saturday.

The last two games were played against the Chargers and the Browns.

He was healthy before against the Ravens and he didn't do squat then.

Not making excuses. Chris Johnson as a rookie is far superior to Willie Parker

Willie Parker is not Chris Johnson. what part of that dont you get?

I am not ripping your analysis... I am saying Willie either does it or doesn't. To this date against the Ravens he has been less then stellar.
As far as a comparison between both, Cj has a lot to accomplish before he can be compared to a RB that has done the time. Great young rookie, but hasn't done anything yet.

he would have broken the ravens record for not allowin a 100 yard rusher in a game in forever had he played the whole game so that would have been somethin...more than parker can do what he get against the ravens? 20 att. for 45 yards? wooooo great game

He has 2 good games against 2 weak defenses and all of the sudden this running attack is the best? I'm worried about the steelers wide receivers more.

I have been browsing this forum during the week with no intentions of posting but had to reply to this one.

Willie is probably one of the most humble football players I have ever seen. Ver thankful for his opportunities
and a great running back. Not "cocky" in the least!!!

Oh and by the way, Willie has been clocked at 4.23 in the 40!!!!

Here's to a great game, hopefully the winner of the game doesn't have to "limp" into the superbowl!!!

GO STEELERS!

Yeah he isn't as fast as his 40 time 6 years ago and 15 knee injuries later. Plus CJ is fast with pads on too.

Parker isn't a hated steeler here so i don't think he is smack talker. Just confident cuz he saw a weakness.

Well, that might be what it comes down to for the ravens, try to hurt a player to win the game.
Don't worry Steelers will be hitting just as hard as "ray ray"!!! Your running backs are banged up
and I see them leaving the game before Willie.

He doesn't have to have a "huge" game, which I dont' think he will. If he gets 70 yards or
so, it WILL open our our passing game and we all know that your secondary is depleted.

Ben could have a big day as long as our offensive line gives him a little bit of time!

Trust me, you and those who agree with that statement are in the minority.

You won't hear me say anything negative about Joe Flacco.

The play of the QB's will be the key to this game. Ben will be more of a factor then Willie, at least in the 1st half. More than likely the Steelers will not be blowing open huge holes to start so it will have to be Ben and his ability to throw down field. If this is working and the line can give him time, it may open Willie up in the 2nd half for some nice gains. if Ben is off or throwing picks, then the D can key on WP which will make for a long day.
