Can't agree with the "roulette strategy " here...heading back to the bank for two weeks in a row with momentum and getting back last years team leader in sacks with fresh legs (and possibly even Dixon)- while facing the 31st ranked defense and then a shaky  skins team...no reason why we can't potentially leave Bmore 5-0 at the top of the division sittin real pretty.

Comment was a tongue-in-cheek bashing of my Eagles fan friend and his ridiculous roulette system.  I'd say they are 40-45% to go 5-0 as of now.

Have we ever won 5 in a row under Harbaugh?

They won the last 4 RS games and the first playoff game in 2010, culminating with the WC win at KC.

It could happen if we do our jobs at M&T Bank stadium and get very loud. We need to boost the DB to 105-110

It can easily get louder than that. 115-120 is what I would be aiming for.

I kind of sensed that but I wasnt sure.  Realistically I'd guess we'll end up at 4-1 but im very hopeful.

Ever heard the old saying " Its tough win on the road" Its absolutely true. If we fans make M&T very loud it will be tough for Raiders to beat the Ravens on their home field.

I've never hard that saying before. Could you explain it again slowly?

If we actually get the run game going even a little bit the rest of our offense will open up a lot! Were basically 1 dimensional and teams know they can sit back and take away our throwing lanes because there's no fear of our backs breaking a big one. Hopefully men Dixon can change that real soon.

Since 2010 the Raiders are 1-16 on the east coast. They travel terribly.

Raiders have been one of the worst teams in the league over that span, so I don't really put much stock into that statistic: they were losing most of their home games too.

Besides, what does the performance of a 2010 Raiders team tell you about this coming game? Nothing. Doubt there are even 5 players on that 2010 team who are on their current roster. Their coaching staff is different too.

If Miami pulls off the upset tomorrow, and we win, then I'll feel really good.

Absolutely. That would take off extremely pressure on us and more on them. I'm pulling for an upset. Go Dolphins in this one.

Yes we can go 5-0, perhaps even 7-0. The more they play, the better they get and the better they gel.

Look for Joe to throw for 400 yards vs. Oakland.

The way the Ravens are playing I consider the next 2 games 50-50 chances to win.  Therefore, if you buy into that, we have a 25% chance of 5-0, a 50% chance of 4-1, and a 25% chance of 3-2.  NFL is too unpredictable.  Let's take this one game at a time and try to get to 4-0 on Sunday, then we can have this discussion again next week if you'd like.

Ugh - did we really have to create this and tempt fate?

Of course its possible. Not like we're facing NE/Den back to back where itd be extremely difficult... both very beatable teams. But, we've got to get to 4-0 before we can worry about 5-0.

One game at a time. I mean, why not a poll on if we can go 16-0? Yea - thats possible too... but not worth talking about right now bc the only thing that matters right now is this weekend against the Raiduhs.

Using the Roulette strategy of a certain Eagles fan who shall remain nameless...No, it is virtually impossible for the Ravens to go 5-0 since that would happen randomly only 1 time in 32.  The fact that the Ravens have won 3 straight makes them soooo due to lose, it's important everyone who reads this starts to bet a progression (1, 2, 4, 8...) to assure themselves of a 1 unit win very soon.

I wonder if he feels that way about the Eagles too.

To add some color (red or black in his case), he was prepared to make 9 consecutive bets at roulette to try for that 1 unit ($5) win with a top bet of $1,280.  Did he hit a bad streak?  Of course, and that was a $2,555 loss.  Anyone playing the betting system (known as Martingale) should expect 1 such streak every 322.7 spins (perhaps 8-12 hours depending on the speed of the game).  I tried to talk him out of it and helped him simulate it, but he had to touch the hot stove for himself.

hahaha that's hilarious (well not for your friend, of course). The Martingale strategy is absolutely the worst idea ever... unless you have an unlimited bankroll and the bank (casino) also has an unlimited bankroll. I had a friend who was absolutely sure it was the greatest thing ever and likewise lost a good sum of money.

Yeah, it seems like every time we look like getting on a roll someone gets cocky and makes a thread like this, and then we proceed to get absolutely hammered in the very next game. The Bills game in 2013 is probably the most egregious example I can think of.

I'll go on the record and say I voted no. No way am I voting yes in this walking jinx invitation of a thread.
