C.J Mosley

32 posts in this topic

Is C.J the most improved player for the ravens over last year? His one weakness was pass coverage

but he has significantly improved in this regard and is becoming a complete player.

Give me your thoughts on who you think is the most improved player .

His range has expanded.  Making ints deep down field and acrobatic catches. He's definitely showing why he's the one to replace Ray in the middle.

One thing he has assured is that QBs will be reluctant to throw the ball when he's in coverage. That unto itself makes them hang on to the ball a tad longer which in turn helps the pass rush. He's definitely improved on his pass defense and added that tool to his already good tackling, blitzing and run coverage. A total package considering he's the signal caller on defense as well.

I still don't know if I'd have him covering someone like Duke Johnson if he were flexed out, but he is a revelation this season and it's excellent to see.

However, I'd say Jernigan is the most improved.

Was waiting for him to get his own thread. That interception yesterday was amazing

It actually reminded me of watching a certain Giants WR whose catches are always making ESPN highlight reels.

The same WR that got into a fight with a kickers net?

:)

INT was great but the most impressive thing with CJ this season is that he again plays fast and hits with purpose. He is a blitzing artist, I wish Pees would dial that stuff more often.

Mixed. Yeah he's good with the blitz but also creating turnovers when he drops into coverage.

I wouldn't put any except for three LBs on Duke and all three place in the NFC.

Just the first two picks of the 2014 draft have improved

CJ has been much better especially in coverage but Jernigan I think is most improved.

This.  Jernigan took over the game versus the Jags in Q4.

Actually, reminded me of one of Cromartie's picks on Peyton

And here's CJ's:

There's a difference between dropping into coverage and getting into a passing lane, vs. struggling to cover a quick RB out of the backfield. I still doubt Mosley's ability to cover a quick pass-catching RB, since we haven't really seen him tasked with doing that yet.

Mosley looks much better and much more comfortable in the defense than he did last season. Part of it is the experience he now has under his belt, while the other part is that he clearly worked on improving his coverage skills. He's playing fast and decisive. He looks like he's on the way to a very nice season.

Kuechly, Wright, and...

Also, I'd put Derrick Johnson on him.

CJ Mosley is definitely coming into his own. I think it has a lot to do with communication too. This team doesn't look lost in coverage. When a guy catches it, they get hit. It's fun to watch. CJ is the franchise guy in the middle. Gonna be here for a long time.

Now, if the offense can get going.

Zach Orr needs to step up, he had a nice pick though

You're posting just for the sake of posting, right? Not watching games, not thinking, just posting.

Was thinking a healthy bowman but haven't watched him in awhile. But 2/3. Wasn't considering Johnson tbh.

Bowman... totally forgot about him. So underrated. He's been playing like a man on a mission.

I hope Mosley can come close to playing like Bowman/Willis.
