And he's been a media darling myth. Can you imagine if he had completed 21 straight on Sunday? I don't care it was for a total of 93 yards and they lost by 30, ESPN would have a special half hour show to dissect each pass.   lol

I can't argue that lol.

Pitta lining up outside is about more than just getting him the ball. The offense is 11 pieces working together. More so than the defense, the offense has to be on 1 accord. This is why the lack of reps that so many of these guys got in Camp and Preseason is so important. Pitta lining up outside puts stress on the defense. If a CB is lined up on Pitta, that usually means a LB or Safety is isolated against one of our other skilled players. Ex. The first 3rd down of the game, Ramsey is matched up on Pitta which allows SSS to be matched up on a LB in space. That's a win for the offense 100% of the time.

Why isn't Flacco playing to his strengths, because he isn't chunking the ball down the field every play? Flacco is finally back to the same style offense that made NFL teams fall in love with him at Delaware. Spread the offense out and let 5 work. I'm definitely interested in hearing how you think Flacco is obviously misused.

Perriman is being slowly groomed to be a #1 type WR. You don't just run deep routes with him all the time. He's getting plenty of deep routes right now and will only get more as he develops more. Juice had such a big year last year for the same reason that Aiken did, the offense didn't really have anyone else. With SSS, Pitta, Perriman, Wallace and Moore, you're not gonna target Juice as much. Also I'd say you should look closer on 3rd downs because Juice is often the lone back next to Flacco for protection, not Forsett.

I am good with what you are saying, just have a problem with them not getting our speed guys the ball, while running full speed, in a crossing route for instance, maybe from a motion or a bunch.

You hit Perriman or Wallace or even Moore in a 7, 15, or 25 yard crossing route, going full speed, its a win for us. YAC City. I see some slants, rarely, but thats it.

Other teams do this constantly with great success.

Just so we're on the same page, are we talking play call/design or results. Because if we're talking results than I have to direct you to the execution of plays. However if we are talking about Trestman's playcalls, then I can point to a few instances where Trestman calls plays designed to do exactly what you're asking for.

On the Zuttah whiff sack, the Ravens had Perriman running a deep cross against a LB. Of course that's only one time but that's the play that sticks out and i'm too lazy to go back and document everytime a crossing pattern was run.

The crossing patterns I remember came in what I call the speed package, that Perriman, Moore and Wallace all on the field together. The reason why i feel they didn't result in the crossing patterns being completed is because the defense focused on them, but that in turn opened up other areas of the field. I think we'll see even more of them the more comfortable the offense gets with each other, but you gotta connect on your deep shots to open the field and make those crosses even more effective.

what teams do this consistently and who are the receivers they are using to do this?

Look at Denver vs Cincy last week, specifically look at the Play Call where Sanders was on the left side and went deep for the td,  then look at the right side they went max protect, both right side receivers ran digs (crossing routes) a 5yd cross and a 10 yard cross from right to left, which would have been 2 open receivers on thise routes, qb chose to go deep and hit Sanders for the td on the left though.

Bottom line, this is the exact play call that is absent for us, that we are missing, and it was against a team in our division we have not beat in 5 games, Cincy, and worse I wish he was still our OC.

We actually ran that exact play this week, where Perriman and Smitty both ran in routes, and Smitty caught a ball out of the slot.
