Was wright benched?

My biggest gripe with Wright is his performance in the red-zone or opponents who are in scoring position. He completely breaks down mentally and physically there. It's weird because he played well in coverage and the Jags and in this game he wasn't awful, but in scoring plays my goodness he just gives up Touchdowns. It's getting ridiculous now.

I still maintain that we had to pay Wright based off of what he did last year.  We finally found a CB that we pulled off the streets that actually played really well here.  The real issue is counting on him and not having any other plan.  Signing Wright was a move that had to be made, but so was addressing the position by adding another competent option (which we didn't do) in case Wright reverted to his career norms, which is exactly what's happening.

Wright is a fairly good boundary CB, as long as he can keep the receiver to the sidelines. Once a receiver runs inside or beats him deep on the outside, he is toast. If he is the best we have as the #2, they really need to roll coverage his way. The safety has to be in position deep without fail, not arriving after the pass is caught. It seems to me that our safety is only loosely shading to that side and not fully rolling the coverage to his side. If the shading is what Pees' wants then he needs to adjust because it's not working.

Yep.  Wright uses the sidelines very well, but otherwise, there hasn't been too much to like from him this year, outside of game 1.

Powers is the slot guy.  More specifically an outside CB as the alternative to Wright.

Powers didn't look any better than he did during the preseason, yesterday. After re-watching, I though Wright played good against the underneath throws to intermediate. He was totally juked by Crabtree on stop & go for the final touchdown. They were in cover 4, but Lewis was beat also.
