RIP Arnold Palmer

Even if you've never played or watched golf you know the name Arnold Palmer. By all accounts he was the epitome of class.

God bless The King.

My Arnold Palmer Story: I was a little kid when Arnold Palmer was good, but Jack Nicklaus quickly became the man to beat, however I always rooted for Arnold. Back in the 1990's, I got free tickets to the PGA Senior Tour at a Country Club in Columbia, MD. Arnold Palmer was playing and hit a shot that landed right in front of me on the golf cart path. Arnold came up in his cart and got out and greeted everyone with the nicest most pleasant attitude and hit his shot off the path right on the green by the cup. The crowd and I cheered as loud as we could. You could tell he really appreciated that and all his fans. I guess I have always been part of "Arnie's Army." R.I.P. Mr. Palmer!

Arnie was my Dad's favorite golfer and I latched on to him as well as a kid watching him on TV. Never got to see him play live but thought it was cool the way he would talk to people in the gallery and always take the time to sign autographs.

I was working in the back yard last evening listening to 98 Rock and they played a sound bite where he talked about how the Arnold Palmer was invented. Amazing how a simple home made mixture ended up making him a bundle of cash.

For my belief, Arnold Palmer was the greatest golfer of all time.

Rest well, Mr. Palmer, for you have earned it.
