[News] Ravens' Touchdown Maker Mike Wallace Isn't Letting It Get To His Head

12 posts in this topic

Wide receiver Mike Wallace has all three of the Ravens’ touchdowns so far this season. It’s been a quick start for Baltimore’s free-agent acquisition, but he’s not ‘buying into’ the attention he’s getting.

Listening to him talk, you can tell he's pumped to be here. Sure, all players give lots of love to their team mates and their coaching staff when they make a move to a new location, but I felt like you could really tell he was genuine about it. I think he felt like he was no where near able to play to his potential in either Miami or Minnesota.

Think about how long it took Flacco to get a rapport going with Q. A little shorter a time was required with SSS. Now, it seems almost instant with Wallace. His impact is only going to continue to grow over the course of this season.

The fact he already dealt with the big success and low points in his career, give him a great understanding and mentality of how to handle the game. This will help him to have continued consistent success moving forward.

I was on Mike Wallace since preseason. Also, he was the only WR who made the team (besides Aiken) who was there all offseason, OTAs, mini-camp. training camp, preseason and now the season. All those extra reps pay off. I picked Wallace as a WR on almost all my fantasy teams and either as a WR of a flex, he is racking up 16 points a week. Fabiano pointed to SSS and said to grab him up, but to me, Wallace was far more prepared.

Speaking of Fabiano, this is the first week I can remember that Fabiano has picked Ravens in 4 of the 7 fantasy categories in his start 'em/sit 'em article. Wallace, Pitta, Ravens defense and Justin Tucker all got love from the fantasy people this week and Flacco has played soundly, just not blown the doors off yet. Not that fantasy counts for anything but fantasy, but its just nice to see the home town team get a little love.

Wallace knows this is only the beginning and its going to get better and he will take all this in stride and is why I keep screaming "Keep slinging that Rock" the run game will be fine! Wallace Triple " S " Pitta and Co are about to wreak havoc this season and the next and the next! "BOSSES" on three 123 BOSSES! Joe Flacco and his Bird Gang are coming watch out they hungry and they got that Bird's Eye on that Lombardi Trophy! Let's get that avg up 30 pts a game and the world is OURS! CAN YOU DIG IT?! WE THE BEST!

I predict that he scores 3 TDs on Sunday.

I was thinking Wallace, Gilmore, and a RB gets one TD each on Sunday

His presence is mounting. When teams now start planning against him, thats when Sr. , Pitta , Perriman and Aiken get in the show. I expect Mike to produce all year, that is the best part of it, if they play soft on him he will burn them. If they double him Joe will draw them off. We saw it last game when Pitta gets 100 yds. Weapons, weapons, weapons.....then fool them on the running game. This is how this team is built this year...take advantage of it!

I dont see the Defense giving up 20 points in the first quarter again for a long time.... that hurt their pride, all of them. Now going into JAx with a 3 quarter scoreless streak, its game on. The D is definately carrying a grudge.

Couldn't agree more. Plus some others (receivers, rb's, te) will get involved in the mix too. Feels like everyone we have in roster is really steady performers at very least. At very best...huge play making capabilities. Sure each game will be different and a challenge, but our complexity is a secret weapon, as in, it's a 'secret' to the other team exactly who Joe will throw to, as he has options galore ? and they won't/can't cover every one of our guys!
