2016 Week 3 Other Teams Discussion

380 posts in this topic

Boy the NFL season moves fast, here we are in week 3 starting tonight in New England as they host the Houston Texans.

Texans @ Patriots: Week 3 of the NFL Season starts with a big AFC Match up  between the 2-0 Texans and the 2-0 Patriots. So at this point, Patriots end up 3-1 before Brady because not only do I think they can beat Buffalo with Brisset but also they suffer their first loss here. Texans seemingly have gotten it together, Osweiler is a good game manager and the defense has done well. If Jimmy played, this game would be closer.

Cardinals @ Bills: I don't know how Rex did it but he was able to make Greg Roman his fall guy. Unfortunately for him, the real Cardinals showed up against the Bucs and this means Rex could potentially be fired on Monday, if not after they lose to the Patriots and go 0-4.

Raiders @ Titans: The Raiders gambled and won in week one, but loss in week 2. The Titans were able to step up and stop the Lions offense and come away with the win. Titans come home after a huge road win and the Raiders look for a huge road win to get them back in track in a wild AFC West.

Redskins @ Giants: The Giants are playing well in the post Tom Coughlin era and the Redskins are falling flat after winning the NFC East last year. Redskins need to bounce back here but the way they have played, it seems 0-3 is in their future.

Browns @ Dolphins: So Cody Kessler is going to start for the Browns, Corey Coleman has a broken hand the Browns wouldn't have luck if they didn't have bad luck. Deshaun Watson better hope the Browns find some games to win down the stretch. Dolphins pick up their first win here.

Lions @ Packers: Packers have issues, the Lions meanwhile could very well look to take advantage of that unless they decide to blow a hail mary again if it comes down to it. The Pack is already down 0-1 in the division, a loss here would hurt their chances down the stretch if it came down to a tiebreaker with the Vikings.

Broncos @ Bengals: Bengals look to rebound at home against a stingy Broncos defense that has picked up where they left off in the Super Bowl. It's easy to say regular season Bengals win this but the Broncos defense may be too much to handle and the Broncos surprisingly go to 3-0.

Vikings @ Panthers: This might be a low scoring game here seeing the defensive match up here. Now the Vikings will be without Adrian Peterson to make their season start off more terrible. The Vikings come into Carolina looking to cement themselves atop the NFC against the defending NFC Champion Panthers. Panthers will be brought back down to earth after chowing down on a terrible 49ers team. Low scoring game that could go either way.

Rams @ Buccaneers: Oh hey, the Rams beat the Seahawks. Now the Rams go back to losing this week as I think the Bucs bounce back here and beat the Rams.

49ers @ Seahawks: Honestly I could say this is a easy win for Seattle but the Seattle offense has gone missing averaging 7.5 points through 2 games. The 49ers meanwhile is averaging 27.5 points with Blaine Gabbert of all people. I'm not ready to call this my upset pick but man if the 49ers beat Seattle in Seattle, there will be questions about this Seahawks team.

Jets @ Chiefs: The Chiefs had such an offensive explosion in week one but then suffered against the Texans defense. The Chiefs look to bounce back against a Jets team that can score with Matt Forte or through the air with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Potential H2H tiebreaker in the AFC playoff race.

Chargers @ Colts: So will the AFC West do what the AFC North did 2 years ago and beat up on a terrible AFC South division? Chargers had a huge blow out win against the Jaguars and face a Colts team that has started out 0-2 three straight years. Colts are missing pieces to their secondary so expect what could be another blow out win here as Luck just won't be able to outscore Rivers and co just like he couldn't outscore Matthew Stafford in week one.

Steelers @ Eagles: Steelers against a rookie QB is a formula for diaster. I imagine this is where Carson Wentz dream start to the season comes to an end. Steelers offensively are too good, and the Eagles don't have a team that can slow down Big Ben enough for Wentz to potentially win this game.

Bears @ Cowboys: This is the Sunday Night Football Game in week three? Broncos vs Bengals, Vikings vs Panthers, Steelers vs Eagles would have been better choices here. Bears fall to 0-3, Cowboys go to 2-1 in order to try to keep up with the Giants.

Falcons @ Saints: Falcons look to win back to back on the road in New Orleans while the Saints look to avoid going 0-3.

Love the write ups. I agree with you and say that the Pats will suffer their first loss tonight. Houston is quietly playing pretty good football. They have held opposing teams to 14 and 12 points respectfully. I see them doing the same tonight against the third string QB. Not too mention, Osweiler is settling in and has some nice weapons.

I agree that Houston will win close game against the pats; after all, better defense will win this game....

Good stuff. I feel a great weekend ahead.

It is a win win for me, kinda why I don't mind starting guys against the Ravens in fantasy. Hedge my bets a bit

I do that too in fantasy if I have a reasonable choice.

Yeah I don't go out of my way to do it but I'd never bench Antonio against us or any other team

I won't get to watch most of this game, who's QB for pats tonight?

Brissett. I think JJ Watt will look 7-foot-five tonight. At least in rookie's eyes.

Good lord Watt will have a lobster bib around his neck ready to eat him.

Not much of a color rush this one.

It might be color rush but the Texans have all white color rush and the Patriots just have a darker blue color rush.

If the Pats somehow pull this game off and win, the discussion about Brady being a system QB will get even more heated.  I picked Houston in my weekly pool.

I'll do you one better, I've got money on this.

The head to head odds were pick 'em, which is utterly ridiculous for the Cheetahs at home. They own the Texans and I think that's more about coaching than actual talent. Belicheat could put the corpse of Harambe in at QB and still win.
