[News] Ravens Set To Face Draft Target Turned Jaguar Jalen Ramsey

21 posts in this topic

Baltimore tried to trade up to draft cornerback Jalen Ramsey, but wasn’t willing to give up its third-round pick to do so. The Ravens also could have selected linebacker Myles Jack, but opted to trade back with the Jags, who grabbed the talented prospect with knee injury concerns.

We could have had Ramsey with our first pick and Jack with our second... instead we seem to have wasted our second and third picks. At least Stanley looks like a keeper so the draft won't be a total bust. Our 4th round also looks promising thus far. The gem seems to be Pierce... hard to believe this guy went undrafted.

if your in position to get an all pro shutdown corner, yeah you give up a third rounder every time,STANLEY'S good but the RAVENS failed in this draft,i don't care what anyone says,we were in line to have the best draft as the JAGS did,a shutdown CORNER and another RAY LEWIS? STANLEY for those two/ i'll take that every time.

Ramsey would have been nice, but Stanley was sorely needed and looks to be a key cog along the line for the next decade. Myles Jack would have been easy to scoop up. Ravens were definitely scared of injuries after this last season though.

It would be great if KC could show up in the games besides just ST. Sure seems they created a project by trying to switch from his natural position to ILB. Kaufusi getting injured was unfortunate but I'm not sold he would be making much more impact that KC. That and there is a lot of depth along the line. At least right now, the second and third round picks seem under whelming. I would love to be proven wrong by KC since Kaufusi won't have the chance for now.

Jaguars got the flashier of the draft picks as far as position.
Ravens got the flashier of the draft picks as far as style. (see draft ensemble)

Scary to think of the outcome if we successfully traded up w/ Dallas.

Gained J. Ramsey and probably still stuck w/ Eugene Monroe.  I doubt we would have cut him.

Although it seems that way - many people forget had we not traded back twice in the 2nd ( which we still landed a potential future stud In KC) we may not have ended up with Dixon or lewis- who look to be absolute steals for the fourth round. so Stanley - KC  and then add Dixon and lewis- its premature to determine now but that alone  looks to be a solid group - and that was all done with two picks. IMO we could've done better in the third- wasn't a fan of kafusi but i could also get proved wrong there eventually too you never know. I'm still a little ticked we passed on Diggs last year when he fell as far as he did. He's been lighting it up- and that's with noodle arm qbs.

Agreed and insane to compare a rookie to a first ballot HOFer after 2 games IMO

This is a laughable/absurd analysis even after I get past the fact that you're judging a draft class two games...TWO GAMES... into their careers. Beyond the fact that even the biggest Myles Jack fan never called him 'another RAY LEWIS' and beyond the fact that Ronnie Stanley could very well turn out to be the best player in this draft- what he's done as far as starting at left tackle his first two games is historic in itself- I'll throw out a few names of players who had as little an impact as Correa has in their first TWO games who were drafted in the top 3 rounds: Jamal Lewis, Todd Heap, Ray Rice, Torrey Smith, Jimmy Smith (95% of you wrote him off as a bust), Paul Kruger. Give it some time

Oh well they will wish they were Ravens after the game Sunday! Some teams beat the Ravens for the first time in a long time and this will be a Lil payback and it won't be pretty! WE THE BEST!

A franchise LT is worth more than a shutdown corner. Why? Because he keeps your Franchise QB from getting hurt. If the Panthers would have had a top notch LT instead of Michael Oher, they would have won last year. Josh Norman couldn't keep Von Miller from destroying Cam.

Myles Jack = Ray Lewis...someone needs to chillout on calling things premature.  We needed a LT, we got a very good one.  In no way would I have made that trade.

At first l wasn't, but l'm extremely happy with the Stanley pick. I wanted Ramsey but the Stanley pick was very more valuable than Ramsey and might be the better pick. But towards next year, we should definitely fill up our entire draft defense with passrushers, safties, and definitely corners. We gotta fix the secondary and make it a stronger one. Should draft a corner in the first round next year.

I am expecting BPA at #32 next year..

I think we have great young depth on both sides of the ball.
