PFF

Of the many ridiculous examples why PFF is complete and utter crap, this is my new favorite:

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/09/pro-football-focus-philip-rivers-poor-grade-jaguars

Despite 4 TDs and 0 INTs in a blowout win, Rivers' performance was graded as "poor"....his 46.5 rating was ONE point above Bortles, who threw 2 INTs and averaged 6.6 YPA.

LMAO!

Please stop referencing PFF as if it means anything.

Yep, that explanation is ridiculous - he threw lot of short passes and receivers gained extra yards. WTH? Rivers can't throw long if they are running short routes.

There's one other QB who does that all the time but he is the greatest that ever was *

His backup does the same thing and is producing just as well, to boot...but yeah, hypocrisy at it's finest.

Not to mention it doesn't give a QB recognition for throwing his guy open. I guess that's too nuanced for PFF.

It's nice when your guy gets a good grade, but the grades don't really mean anything.

It's even more interesting when you compare it to his QBR, which has always been a stat few people liked. He's currently third in the NFL in QBR, but 24th ranked QB according to PFF. I'd love to see the 23 QBs who they claim is playing better than Rivers so far.

The website currently ranks the Ravens 6th overall among all 32 teams..  Just saying.
