Ozzie is bringing these bums in so I'm all for it.  Harbaugh never should've been our coach anyway.  We could've had Garrett if our owner wasn't an idiot.

Are you from the Russell Street Reports forum? Because reading that board you would think Jimmy was the worst CB in the league. It's absolutely ridiculous how they trash Jimmy in that forum board.

It's not fun answering seriously, but I've watched both games maybe 2-3 times each.  He is rarely thrown at. Out of 33 attempts, I'd say he maybe tried Jimmy 5 times not having counted.  Didn't count last game either but I wouldn't be surprised if he's getting bored out there.

jimmy smith just isnt  a playmaker. hes so predictable to play against. Dink and dunk on him every single time..it works a charm.

Exaggerating as usual, but there is a bit of truth here. He does seem reluctant to man up and can give way too much cushion.

I wasn't happy with the way Jimmy got stiff arm beasted but Wright was clearly worse in coverage. Not only that but he missed a couple of big tackles on the 85 yard td run and late in the game with a WR getting out of bounds. If anything lets talk about Wright getting replaced but with whom?

My feed was a little choppy there. From my view it looked like it was a little behind, but I'm guessing it was really dead on?

Should have been caught.  Not a layup into his chest, but not a hard catch at all.  That's definitely been a problem of his over the past couple of years.

Jimmy's still recovering from his foot surgery (screws removed: http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/baltimore-ravens/ravens-cb-jimmy-smith-having-surgery-remove-screws-foot). He'll be fine, and he's been playing pretty well. He's the least of our worries.

Jimmy was dominant week 1. Completely shut down Watkins.

The secondary wasnt particularly good week 2; but Jimmy wasnt the worst by any means. Wright was clearly worse than Jimmy.. which only makes the OP more confusing. Week 1 both played great. Week 2 both were worse, but Shareece was FAR worse. Missed tackles by both, but Jimmy still only gives up some underneath stuff... rarely gets beat over the top or on contested catches.

Plus, I know this board loves the whole DBs too far off the line convo, and the argument of whether thats Pees or the players fault... but without knowing the coverage called you just cant say. Yes, its the players decision how far off the line they line up.

But, you can blame jimmy all you want - if the play calls for him to cover an intermediate-to-deep zone on the boundary it makes zero sense for him to press. It may look like Jimmy gives up an easy completion in front of him, but if it was the nickel, safety, or LB's job to cover the flat... well thats where the blame should be placed.

We absolutely need to come up and make those tackles to limit YAC or letting the WR get out of bounds... but the people who blast the CB when hes clearly covering a deeper zone and want him to press the WR at the line - its ridiculous. Get ticked off about that 6 yard completion, without knowing that had he pressed and failed to back pedal fast enough into his zone the TE wouldve had an easy 20-30 yd completion on his corner route.

Similarly I cant sit here and say certain plays arent 100% his or that players fault... bc unless we know for sure the coverage called and everyones responsibility on it its impossible.
